Excellent, clean, no frills vintage-themed motel at a great price within walking distance to everything. The covered parking is a plus. The owners are lovely and went out of their way to answer our questions and give us all the info on the best spots in Brookings. Since we had driven five hours we loved that we could walk to bars, grocery stores and eateries from the motel. The margaritas at Pancho's next door are a must and we loved Khun Thai for spicy beef noodle soup and a lovely mild coconut curry rice dish. Honeybee bakery (across the street) has amazing donuts and sweets. A couple blocks past the grocery store is Chetco Brewing-- another fun spot with live music. Wicked Pig is a small bites bar that is open the latest. We saw a stunning sunset at Harris Beach less than a mile away. We drove there but will bike next time. If you are looking for big box, Marriott-style experience, this isn't it. This motel is family-run by folks who care about your experience and their community. 10/10 recommend!

This motel is in they style of the old motor inns with the covered parking and chairs to sit outside. Cool retro mini fridges in the room. Everything was super clean. This is no frills, so don't expect a pool or free breakfast, but in exchange you get a clean room at an affordable price, perfect as a base camp or a place to crash when traveling through. The Mexican restaurant next door was wonderful. The owners were really nice, and their Star Wars themed painting in the lobby was cool.

This Inn of one story rooms with carport in front of room, is a little gem right off Highway 101 which was a great find! I chose the inn because of its least expensive daily rate. The new owners have created the nicest room I have stayed in along the Northern California 101 to Brookings area. 1) Fresh painted walls with beautiful hues 2) Lovely new laminate flooring throughout 3) Great mattress and white crisp clean comforter covered by clean sheets 4) TV, MICROWAVE, Small Size REFRIGERATOR all new & excellent functionality 5) Rooms must have been originally sound proof because completely quiet/private 6) Nice size closet space with suitcase holder 7) Bathroom sink, toilet, shower nice & new 8) This Inn was a wonderful spot - so glad I made a weeks reservation here - will come again Thanks. We enjoyed this stay. It had the space we needed and was clean. The staff was very welcoming. We liked that we had covered parking. It was close to everything we needed. The only drawback was there was not air conditioning and our room got stuffy. We would stay here again.

Covered parking in front of the rooms (which extends 15 feet out or so) is really nice - especially since it was raining. Owner was very helpful and friendly. It was the off season so very few travelers, making for a very quiet stay. Overall it is a nice budget-friendly motel

This property served our purpose perfectly. We spent the day driving the oregon redwoods trail, and driving hwy 199 marveling at redwoods. It was nice to come.back to our nice clean, quiet room, where we could park at the door of it for easy in and out. Would come back again.

The bathroom had visible mold on the curtain and mold along the bathtub edges. The hot water in the shower lasted only 7 minutes, it was very disappointing because 2 people needed to shower and only 1 person got a hot shower, while the other person (me) shivered in room temperature water.

They did a good job remodeling the property, with skillful painting and nice touches, like the cute, retro mini-fridge. The bed was small but comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff were super-nice and we felt welcomed. This is a very basic, no frills motel, and the walls are thin. But we like how they clearly made an effort to be creative and fun with the space. I'd suggest making coffee available, and using soap and shampoo dispensers instead of throwaway bottles. These are small concerns, and the price was the best on the coast -- which has become criminally expensive. One motel charges over $540 a night! No excuse for that. These smaller hotels are the way to go, and Pacific Sunset gets an A for effort. A plus for welcoming and friendly people. A plus plus for the chickens. :)

Our stay at the Pacific Sunset Inn was just fair. Overall it was just a locally owned motel that provided a decent night sleep. Front desk girl was friendly and helpful. We needed a place to stay for the night and did t want to pay over $200 for a room just to sleep in. Overall the room was clean but dated. Some painting and upgrades were done but could have used some more. Bed was okay, pretty small Queen but was comfortable. We were on the side of the motel with a construction site beside it. Wasn’t noisy until about 7:00am and pretty quiet at night. I think these are the rooms they reserve for travel booking sites. The quieter rooms were on the other side of the property. ☹️Now my issue with this place was the laminate floor was gross. It had so much sand and grit on it that it covered the bottom of your feet. I ended up using a towel and wet mopped the entire room. I don’t think it had been swept in a long time. Please make sure your house keeping is cleaning the floors when they clean up too. Okay motel for the price. I would stay here again if just using it to sleep. No long stays.

Cute, well-priced place to stay overnight in Brookings. There were cute cats on the property to pet and we could see the ocean out our window (past the motel across the street, of course). Scrupulously clean, everything worked, and there’s a great Mexican restaurant right next door. I wouldn’t stay here for more than one night, however, because the walls are made of paper and we could hear every word our neighbors said and there was no big AC unit for white noise, which is something that makes me uncomfortable but might not be a big deal for other travelers. We were lucky our neighbors weren’t particularly shouty and retired early. Otherwise a great stay!

Incredibly thin walls and hard floors that echo through other rooms. Floors covered in sand when you arrive. No A/C and no windows or fans, only option is leave front door open. Will NEVER be staying here again.

this is an older property but adequately maintained. owner had to switch cable/internet and there were a few glitches. tv was adjusted to work but internet was unreliable to the point it stopped working.but the owner did make a credit adjustment as promised. setting was convenient, quiet and clean. great recommendation for thai food. would definitely stay here again

this is an older property but adequately maintained. owner had to switch cable/internet and there were a few glitches. tv was adjusted to work but internet was unreliable to the point it stopped working.but the owner did make a credit adjustment as promised. setting was convenient, quiet and clean. great recommendation for thai food. would definitely stay here again

Excellent, clean, no frills vintage-themed motel at a great price within walking distance to everything. The covered parking is a plus. The owners are lovely and went out of their way to answer our questions and give us all the info on the best spots in Brookings. Since we had driven five hours we loved that we could walk to bars, grocery stores and eateries from the motel. The margaritas at Pancho's next door are a must and we loved Khun Thai for spicy beef noodle soup and a lovely mild coconut curry rice dish. Honeybee bakery (across the street) has amazing donuts and sweets. A couple blocks past the grocery store is Chetco Brewing-- another fun spot with live music. Wicked Pig is a small bites bar that is open the latest. We saw a stunning sunset at Harris Beach less than a mile away. We drove there but will bike next time. If you are looking for big box, Marriott-style experience, this isn't it. This motel is family-run by folks who care about your experience and their community. 10/10 recommend!

The desk agent was very helpful and friendly. However, this is a large facility that appeared only half full. For some reason they placed us right next to a construction zone that woke us up with jack hammers etc. It is an old facilty with both charm and wear.

This is the cutest little motel, we stayed just one night but the area is ideal. There was lots to eat around and the best beach to watch the sunset was only a quick drive away, probably could have walked if needed. The service was fantastic and friendly. Definitely recommend

The staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Good location. Some upgrades might be needed. Limited outlets. Couldn’t use the microwave unless the refrigerator or tv were unplugged. No coffee maker or hair dryer.

This property served our purpose perfectly. We spent the day driving the oregon redwoods trail, and driving hwy 199 marveling at redwoods. It was nice to come.back to our nice clean, quiet room, where we could park at the door of it for easy in and out. Would come back again.

An older motel with clean room and comfortable bed. Manager at check-in was friendly and made us feel welcome. We asked about redwood trees in area and he gave us directions to an awesome area with huge redwoods. At our request he provided recommendations to a good close by restaurant. Overall, a nice overnight stay for a reasonable price in a clean room.

This motel is in they style of the old motor inns with the covered parking and chairs to sit outside. Cool retro mini fridges in the room. Everything was super clean. This is no frills, so don't expect a pool or free breakfast, but in exchange you get a clean room at an affordable price, perfect as a base camp or a place to crash when traveling through. The Mexican restaurant next door was wonderful. The owners were really nice, and their Star Wars themed painting in the lobby was cool.

They did a good job remodeling the property, with skillful painting and nice touches, like the cute, retro mini-fridge. The bed was small but comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff were super-nice and we felt welcomed. This is a very basic, no frills motel, and the walls are thin. But we like how they clearly made an effort to be creative and fun with the space. I'd suggest making coffee available, and using soap and shampoo dispensers instead of throwaway bottles. These are small concerns, and the price was the best on the coast -- which has become criminally expensive. One motel charges over $540 a night! No excuse for that. These smaller hotels are the way to go, and Pacific Sunset gets an A for effort. A plus for welcoming and friendly people. A plus plus for the chickens. :)

Cute older motel. They have tried to keep it up but it is just an older motel. Cheaper furniture but the bed was comfortable. Sheets were poor quality and rough feeling. Owners were very nice but the office was smelly. They allow dogs but there is no place to take them to go potty.
