Holiday Inn Express & Suites East Wichita I-35 Andover by IHG

The place was dirty. They said they were renovating but it looked like it had already been done but it looked like someone with no experience had done it. Elevator didn’t work half the time so you didn’t know if you would get stuck on it or if it would even go.

This hotel was run down. Our fridge didn’t work, we didn’t have enough towels, no TV remote, and the pool was out of order.

We didn’t expect much but won’t be staying again. Breakfast was good. Desperately needs updates. The toilets are so low. Beds were horrible but the pillows were ok. My husband did enjoy the chase and the desk was easy to work from. Front desk lady was nice but not from the area so getting information was difficult. Pool was closed and that absolutely infuriates me when it isn’t noted on the booking sites. Shower had hardly any pressure and the room was quite dirty.

We booked a 2 queen bed suite and checked in just a little after 3:00. We ere told that there are no 2 queen bed rooms left and only a king bed with a roll out cot for our family due to being short staffed on housekeeping. Their only elevator and pool was out of order, the TV in our room didn’t work and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned very well. The rest of room appeared to be clean though. We were offered a discount for not having the room we booked available, but we didn’t end up getting a discount once we paid. The front desk attendant said it was taxes and incidentals but when I got the receipt the base price was not the discount we were told.

The staff was friendly, and courteous, when you could find them. The property was a bit in need of repairs. The pool was closed for "maintenance" , there were leaks in the ceilings, several ceiling tiles were missing , it just seemed like the property could use some cosmetic touches. The breakfast was good, however, the last night we were there, the only elevator in the building went out... ughh. It just seemed like one thing after another, although they were minor, other than the elevator of course!

Breakfast was nice and clean, check in was easy. The doors to the outside didn’t close all the way which was concerning for safety, all of the door frames were chipped with paint, ceiling tiles were open, pool has been closed for months due to maintenance, definitely needs some cleaning up.

We stayed at this location because they had EV charging, however neither one of the chargers worked which was a major inconvenience for our trip.

Pool out of order, no ice 3rd or second floor

We left the hotel immediately after going into the room. Our room was on the 3rd floor. When the elevator reached the 3rd floor, it shook and made an awful noise for at least 3 minutes before the door opened. The hall was extremely hot. Once we got inside the room, we tried to call the front desk to inquire about the elevator. The phone beside the bed did not work. We located a second phone on a table. When calling the front desk we received a busy signal. We called the number to the hotel from our cell phone and received a message that the number we were calling was disconnected or no longer in service. We got back on the terrible elevator and went back to the front desk and turned in the key card and notified the staff member we were uncomfortable and did not want to stay. She said ok and was not concerned about why we did not want to stay. I asked if I would be refunded and was told yes and that our card had not been charged. I now see my card was charged and want a full refund immediately.

The hotel is in poor to average condition at best in the room. Bathroom door had paint peeling off. The shower was terrible and wouldn’t divert water to the shower head hardly at all. All the exterior trash receptacles were over flowing, appeared to have not been emptied in several days. The indoor pool was not operational. The only positive note was the breakfast and the lady that was in charge of the breakfast. Very customer friendly and service oriented

We arrived late from meetings, room smelled like sewer gas. Put towels over the drains, closed the door and went to bed. We won't be back.

Hotel had no trim, stained/dirty around shower drain, really the hotel was in super poor condition.

The hotel smelled like animal urine and mold. I would not go back.

The room smelled like a locker room, there was hair in the bed and the toilet was dirty

The bed wasn’t comfortable and the heater was so loud (like it’s about to throw a baring) that we couldn’t sleep. The room wasn’t very clean, there was hair on the floor and in the shower.

Walls were dirty. Pool was very dirty and cloudy. The carpet was sticky. We had hair in our bathtub half of the outlets don’t work. My phone didn’t work. The gaps around the door had so much light coming in. You could see where it had been flooded or something the paint was falling off the bottom of the doors. The doors were buckling at the very bottom, just not a nice hotel won’t stay again

Kinda old and not that clean

Breakfast options were great, room was very musty, bed could use an upgrade, bathroom could have been in better condition and husband wished there was actual soap, did not like not being able to plug hdmi cord that I take with me into the tv to watch what I want from my phone. This is the first hotel I have come across that issue with. Overall, this had an economy hotel feel but not an economy hotel price but it definitely falls into the meh, fine category.

Breakfast was good. The grounds were in need of cleaning and repair. They did move me to another room for the second night which I appreciated. This is probably the worst condition of a Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. They said they were in the process of renovating the facility. Not any to soon. I have stayed in Holiday Inns for over 50 years and this is in my top 10 of the worst condition.

At first glance it was okay looking. Then wow, the place is in shambles. Old and run down is an understatement here. Paint is coming off the walls in the hallways and doors to the rooms. Our door didn't close unless you body checked it and basically hung from the door handle when leaving. Once we entered the room we got hit in the face with an overwhelming smell of urine. We were told it was just a bit of a musty smell from the AC unit and we were unable to switch rooms as they were all booked. We ran to the store to get fabreeze and we went through 3/4 of a bottle in our 2 night stay. Beware if you are stuck having to stay here.

TV internet issues not very quiet

Beds were in very bad condition. Property in a bit of despair and fixing needed. Continental breakfast was amazing! Pool hours were 10-10, posed a bit of a challenge with such a late opening at 10 AM with checkout at 11 AM when traveling with kids.

The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. Service was fine. I was only there one night. The bathroom needs updated and needs repaired. The bottom of door was rotted, there was yuck in the corners on wall and the floor. There was a giant sticker at one point on the floor that you could see the remains of. The faucet on the tub was discolored and ugly and the drain on the tub had paint on it. My feeling is that if I am spending a lot of money on a hotel room, make it look nice! Clean it up! Fix what wrong. And this is the Hilton. I expect more from the Hilton.

There was no air in the room and was told that we couldn’t move rooms since we had already walked into the room.

The bed in our room was not very comfortable felt like it was not set properly felt like it was making me roll out of bed and springs in my back. We had room 306. We have stayed there multiple times this is the first time with a terrible bed. Seems like the elevator is broke alot last time we stayed had to use the stairs and this time the elevator 2nd floor button was broke and people had to stick their finger in the hole to select the 2nd floor button seemed very unsafe.

Stopped on our way through. First room we got the ac unit didn’t work. They moved us to another room and one set of outlets by the bed didn’t work. Definitely could use some improvements as there were some things that were dated or damaged. Was fine for one night. Not what I’ve experienced at other holiday inns

Staff were phenomenally helpful. We arrived late after driving 10 hours. I was in the car with my mom and dad who are in their mid 80s. My mom was sick in the car and couldn't make it to her hotel room. The staff were understanding and helpful. also, my dad was rushing to grab both of their luggage and he handed me my water bottle through the door and he dropped it and it broke over the entrance driveway the female attendant with the pretty blue and purple hair was so kind to rush out and help and insist that I not pick the glass up off the ground myself I apologize, but I appreciated her attitude. The only thing I would say is that because we are on the road and my mom was sick. We had to pull over to get a hotel room at which point I jumped on my apps to reserve two rooms for us and the easiest way to do that was through a third-party app which in this case was hotels.com and I was told that I would not be able to collect my IHG points and from the reservation, which I think is, if that's a policy that's a bad policy because I chose. I still chose Holiday Inn express or IHG off the list of hotels that was available to me. It was just more efficient whilst I was driving in the car with two people in their mid 80s to use the third-party app if it's still possible to get credit for those points, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

The room was very clean and temperature very comfortable which created a very pleasant and cozy stay. Every encounter with staff was wonderful. Their demeanor was professional and we were greeted with a kind word and smile by everyone. We were very impressed and enjoyed our stay immensely.

When we showed up to check in they informed us they had no rooms available. They were overbooked and offered us no compensation or explanation. Worst management I’ve ever experienced. DO NOT book at this property!!

Guest Services Representative was very polite, professional and friendly. Easiest and smoothest check in I have ever had! 10/10 recommend this place!

Hotel was well kept and the rooms were clean. The staff was very nice. The gentleman at the front desk was working hard to get several guests checked in but the phone wouldn't stop ringing. He kept his cool and was nice to us (and the people on the phone) but clearly additional staff is needed for check-in. A frustrating situation for everyone. Breakfast was good with ample selections and again, nice lady running things. Pool was warm and clean.

Felt bad for Carlos, our room at 3:30 was not cleaned and ready and the check in took over 29 minutes. Did not feel he had a good team working with him. He had to physically go check on the room, while there was a guest waiting behind me! SMH

Our room was not available at check in. We were sent to another property almost 30 minutes away. Communication was very poor from the hotel manager.

It was a nightmare, when I got to the hotel the guy at the front desk told me that they have not any room for me even when I showed the confirmation of my reservation so I have to fine another hotel out of the hotels. Com application since I was not able to do another one so please give my money back... Thanks

I liked the location of the property. Easy access and setback from the busy road.

Even with a GPS address it was tough to spot the Quality Inn among the other businesses. Needs more prominent signage

The location is in "easier to get around" Andover but there are still restaurants nearby. The parking setup is better than most hotels. The lobby/reception is smallish, but the best room is sizable. Only one elevator. The rooms and service are good!

Fair condition, but remodeling is under construction. Great work out room and pool. Breakfast was amazing: biscuits & gravy, pre-made omlets, healthy options with fresh fruit and to go bags to pack a snack for later. Great dinning options - check out Metro Bistro

Needs a deep cleaning, painting and other maintenance. I would rather drive further than stay at this place. Breakfast was adequate but gravy was cold when I ate.

Great hotel just wish there was a room available with two beds and not just a king bed. Breakfast was amazing lots of choices! Beds were comfy. Wish there had been a hot tub there though. Pool water was cold.

We have been coming to this hotel for the last 8 years mostly for convenience. At first it was great. Through the years, it has declined. Needs major maintenance. Rooms need paint, shower faucets, tubs with rust, tile floors with cracks (not good for bare feet). Staff short handed. Rare to find someone at the front desk. Back door should be locked for security but left open because it doesn't fit the door jam so it's hard to open and close. The grounds are mostly weeds and the pond next to the property is full of trash. On the good side, breakfast . Staff keeps it well stocked and all the eating area clean.
