Nice friendly staff, very nice breakfast. Family room was big enough and very nice views from 1st floor. Just opposite to the beach and restaurants and cliff railway entrance. Its paid parking opposite on the road and its free from 8pm to 8am. However, the property itself is very outdated, carpets not clean, lift is very fiddly, stairs are steep, too many doors and children's noise from other bedrooms is very disturbing at night.

We arrived at this hotel after a long day to be told by the front desk attendant that our reservation had been canceled. Although we had booked and paid for two rooms more than two months prior, we were told that they had just received the reservation that morning and had no rooms available so it had to be canceled. I will say here that I was shocked on arrival at the appearance of the building which looked run down and nothing like the photos I had seen online. Very misleading. It was the night before the British Cycling Championships in Aberystwyth so the town was packed. After frantically spending time online and on the phone to try to figure out some alternative, we were told of a cancellation at a hotel down the road. We hurried there with our bags, which we had already had to drag several blocks to Queensbridge, since there is little to no parking on site or even nearby. Very fortunately we were able to book the room and finally got settled around 9:30 p.m. Amazingly I am still getting emails from Hotels.com asking about my stay at Queensbridge! I am currently in the process of trying to obtain a refund for our expensive alternate hotel from Hotels.com. It has been nothing but a hassle, with hours spent on the phone. Still not sure how this will come out in the end, but I will never book another hotel with hotels.com again! The woman at the second hotel told me that agencies like hotels.com are notorious for things like this. Very disappointed and frustrated.

No room booked when we got there. No record of hotel. Com making a reservation. Very helpful staff found us a room and said they would sort the booking out. Hotel is a bit dated but clean. Our room was in a converted garage at the back of the hotel down the fire escape. Back of hotel a bit scruffy with uneven and rotten decking on the floor. The room Itself was clean and comfortable Excellent breakfast every morning. Very close to town centre and right on the seafront. Free parking on the seafront is now not free and is £5 for 4 hours. No return for 4 hours so not ideal. Overnight 8pm to 8 am was still free. Overall we were happy considering it was a bit cheaper than the nearby hotels.

On arrival the sea view room looked ok. Hot weather and large window open to keep room cool. The en suite had no towel rails and nowhere to put toilet bags other than the floor and was not well cleaned and painted and had a strange humming noise that was constant. Went out for evening and weather turned cooler but large window did not close so had to improvise. Left next day after what I would call adequate breakfast but nobody around on reception to discuss problems just a basket for keys.
