Got suck in elevator twice

Slow customer service. Check in was awfully long. The swimming pools open late and close early every day. The food choices were the same.

The resort was very nice and had great food options. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The only thing is the lack of parking if you do have a car. If you’re parked along the line of the property, it can be a good walk to your vehicle.

Pool hours are slacking 9-6pm really?? Also this hotel is 1 hour from the airport.

Pretty good, clean, I loved my bedroom close to kids clubs and water parks. I will recommend for the future. I traveled with friends and family. We got up early for eating breakfast by 7:00 a.m. when We returned to the bedroom by 7:25a.m. The bedroom was locked. We had three bedrooms, my sister, and my friend. my friend V. is a person with disabilities and I had a bedroom with my Grandson he is four years old. We had to walk to front desk to report that both bedrooms were lack. This was hard because our transportation was in the front desk by 8:00. This happened the last day. Take care of situation like this. Kids clubs very nice, my grandson loves them.

Great resort for the kids, they had a blast. Cons: pool access opens late and closes early (9am-6pm) Food isn’t the greatest, but it’s edible. It just isn’t authentic Jamaican food.

Everyone was very helpful, it was a very large place. Room was great. Hotel just needs some updating. the main elevator was out when we were there, so we always took the service elevator.

Beach is not nice at all and only spot which is swimable is for exclusive guest only. We all pay lots of money to go there we should be able to enjoy basic amenities like a nice beach. Also transportation from lobby to tennis court should be offered to customers especially there being not that many going there. It’s just a long walk in the heat. Other than that very nice stay. 2nd time going there.

Parking is terrible. Property is well kept and the staff are beyond awesome!

Loved the hotel. The swim up bar was lovely. The restaurant always had a lot of good food. Love the live music and it was quiet at nights.

Place is nice room is clean roaches in the cupboard and in the bathrooms i even took a video of roaches running.

I ignored the bad reviews and I REGRET IT. THIS WAS THE WORST FOUR DAYS. BETWEEN THE HUGE ROACHES, NO HOT WATER (the shower water was ICE cold) and the cable having a error on the screen that says the Dish payment is due (did the hotel not pay their cable bill!’!? We took a pic because we couldn’t believe it. It kept coming on the screen all four days preventing us from watching tv at night) This is NOT a five star hotel. More like a three star. I will be reaching out to Expedia because I can’t believe I paid for this type of service. Over 1k WASTED

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! This place is horrible!!! First of all it smells of sewage. The halls the rooms, everywhere.Then the roaches!! They are everywhere!! On the rooms, halls, elevators and buffet. I asked the housekeeper what to do. She mentioned that I could call maintenance and they could come and try to exterminate. Try!!??? I had to ask daily for basic items. No towels, soap, blankets, toilet paper . When I first arrived I assumed the room wasn’t set up.I had to request towels, pillows, toilet paper, facecloths and soap. Then I realized that I had to request towels and facecloths daily!! It would take hours. I would end up going to the front desk to ask for towels and facecloths every night . So annoying! I spoke with guest services, manager, front desk you name it. They don’t care. I say sorry, but nothing changes. NOTHING!! The place is falling apart. Peeling paint, dark dingy rooms, poor lighting and again the smell. Elevators that are out of service meaning you have to walk up many flights of stairs. Good luck if you can’t. The place is huge and the service suffers for it. You can tell and feel that the staff is just going about their business. No one cares. I could NEVER recommend this place. As a Jamaican it’s embarrassing. So many other places are doing an amazing job.

What I didn't like was the Roaches all over the place. We ate at the Japanese restaurant and there were 2 small roaches one of which was on the side of the table. The second one we showed the waiter and she crushed it with her feet. (Stacy) I think her name was. No one came over to apologize. Not good

Reaches, unsanitary food, very rude staff( most of them). 2 hours to check in , charges us additional $900 usd since they had issue with Expedia . We booked 2 adults and 2 kids (13&15).In their system shows kids ages are 1 yr old for both . Wanted to charge us $1500 but after a hassle and saying to take it with Expedia or cancel your reservation with no refund . We ere left with no options but to pay them since we have diabetic kid and we needed to refrigerate their medicine, changed the room twice . We booked ocean view and they told us that we got an upgrade only to find out that the upgrade is construction view instead of ocean view, didn’t know that construction view is an upgrade from ocean. Room has no working air condition, clogged shower also two towels for 4 people . Calling front desk to get issue fix and get TOWELS was like screw you, we are not doing . Asking to speak yo manager and was told that I CANT, not sure who they are yo tell me who I can or can not speak to. We got moved to another room and not any better. Broken shower, no shower head, safe doesn’t work and to make things worst, they put us on top of their entertainment open area where they have musing playing till 11 pm and we can’t have balcony door open nor sleep from the loud noise. It took us 4-5 days to get another room after many calls. And we hit the same story, here is your upgrade ( garden view ) and again, not sure how is garden view is an upgrade from ocean. My stay at this hotel was beyond disappointing. The room conditions were completely unacceptable—there was visible mold, chipping grout, leaking ceilings, peeling paint, and black spots on the mattress that looked like signs of a previous bedbug issue. Shockingly, this was the second room we were moved to after complaining about the first one. We had to call the front desk four times just to get basic towels and washcloths. It was frustrating and honestly, unacceptable for any hotel claiming to be a quality resort. The only saving graces were the food and entertainment. The food had authentic Jamaican flavor and the entertainment kept us dancing in our seats all day and night. Kudos to those teams! Also, if you want a lounge chair by the pool, you need to be down there by 8:00 AM to reserve your spot with a towel—otherwise, good luck finding a seat. I would not return even with the change new partnership with the Hyatt

I did not like that the bathroom in my room was dirty upon check in, and remained so even after requesting to have it cleaned. I paid for a junior suite with double beds, which I did not get. I was told that 2 adults with 1 child, the child is free...However 2 adults with 2 children, both children have to pay. Concierge will tell you they are addressing something and it never gets done. I'm still waiting for those bath towels, blankets, tissue and someone to check the coffee maker. The food tasted good and there was a wide variety, however, be prepared to join a line to get into the restaurant. The facility has a large pool, kids area and Waterpark. The beach is not great, but it will do...

Dirty room, bathroom, balcony and rude staff I will never recommend this place or even return.

Nothing was unique about this resort. Roaches in furniture, you have these young adults doing nasty things in the pool where it’s a family area and food was horrible. The entertainment wasn’t great either. I wouldn’t recommend or am I coming back here. I rather try the other resorts with great services

We were very disappointed with our stay. We were given the wrong room upon arrival. Though we didn’t mind until we saw the cleanliness of this room. Floors weren’t mopped, counters weren’t wipes and towels were dirty. We were able to get another room after asking. Every time we would call to get stock on our refreshments or towels and toilet paper they would never answer and if they did it took them several hours to get what we needed. The pool was my favorite part. Dining was not good at all. Food was very distasteful. We never ate at the resort which I would highly recommend anyway, but expect it to be pricey if you are not driving your own car, or plan to get extras to put in your fridge, but remember there is no microwave.

Staff was friendly and accomdating at check-in. We were able to change from grand to luxury side due to the children and noise level. Nephi, our belman. Was very helpful. Friendly and overall a good guy.. he asked if we were celebrating any occasions and later had banners on door for my bday and anniversary. - need alternative to wine bc we dont drink alcohol. Try sparkling appe cider. ** prompt attention to fix safe and air condition given. ** the bed was hard , so provide softer mattress or cusion mattress cover ** dosclosure of dresscode for mealtimes is important . Perhaps include in welcome pack in room Meals: food selections were decent. Need more vegan ootions not just gluten free. And offer sorbet or gelato or milk free desert . ** consider offering green smoithies or fruit smoothies, etc for heslthier alternatives, lifestyle. Great option for short stay. Tijuana assisted us with transportation back to airporr. We booked saturdsy eve andcwas told we needed to arrange 48hrs before. Our stay was 48hrs ( friday to sunday) . So perhaos at initial booking or upon check- in bc the registation folks know our length of stay, should inquire if needing transport to airport, book at least 488 hrs esp if booking thru hotel. * we went to eat at pool restaurant on grandside. Counters were dirty. Asked employee if he could wioe a spot off on tabke, he told us to grab naokins and di it ourselves. The employees looked irritated , annoyed from messy kids. Pay more

Mold smell in the room/ bathroom leaking water/ bed sheets had brown stain no iron in the room. Had to wait 3 hours for toilet paper

I was without AC for 4 days before they finally switched me to another room. It took multiple calls a day and multiple visits to the front desk until I finally talked to maintenance. Maintenance explained the thermostat was broken and that the front desk should it could not be fixed and shouldn't have anyone stay in that room

The resort itself was beautiful and well mentioned. The beach was amazing, the pools were nice. Our room was very outdated and didn’t look anything like the newly remodeled rooms in the pictures on their website. Our key cards deactivated multiple times throughout the week and we had to keep visiting the front desk to reactivate them. They also double booked our room and a family walked in on us sleeping at midnight. The staff at the front desk are rude, unhelpful, and give you attitude even when you’re being kind to them. They mumble under their breath and are very apathetic about their jobs. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary. They said they would send up champagne and chocolates to our room, which we never received. Five days later, I placed a special request at the desk for champagne to be sent to the room. The lady reassured me that it would be sent up, yet we never received anything. The food was very boring and made almost every single member in my family sick multiple times. The buffet had the same exact selection every day (lunch and dinner), severely lacking variety. There were not many options to eat at all, unlike other large resorts we have been to. They also lost my family member’s bag on the way to the hotel, and everyone refused to help us. They were overall indifferent. The drinks were bottom tier and made with the cheapest alcohol possible. The bartenders, however, were generally very nice and welcoming. overall would not stay here again.

Tv not working ,AC Barley working took 2 hours for someone to fix it and bring ice

We booked this property for lt's family friendly options. When we arrived there was only a lids club and a small splash pool for kids. Otherwise nothing that was kid friendly. The check in was bery disorganzied and took an hour. We were booked into the same room as anotjer family and had to get that fixed. The room was spacious but there were issues with it. There was a lamp falling off the wall. Stains on the lamp shade. Our cabinet to the mini bar was stuck and we coyld not open it. Our safe didnt habe directions and two of the buttons did not work. We were constantly on the.phone calling repair people to the room. The maid staff ran out of towels on day 3 of our 5 day trip. They had no explanation of why theu ran out of towels. The staff wpuld promise to send them and we wouls not get any. We used the big towels you get by rhe pool instead. The buffet food was ok but the staff could not keep up with thw demand for food. Trays were often left empty and they epuls run out of bowls or plates. The resturants were booked the day we got there so we couldnt get any reservations. We had to complain for the front desk to squeeze us into the schedule. The bars around the resort were nice. Bartenders were friendly. Drinks were weak so we started asked for double alcohol. The priperty itseld seems okd and rundown. I eead online they are slowly renovating. Also it is at least an hour and a half from the airport in Montego Bay. Would not stay here again.

The view around this property is beautiful. Majority of the staff that I dealt with were wonderful. The number system for the rooms is a bit confusing making it hard to locate family members in other areas of the resort. The resort provides wifi thru out the property which is great, however I did come across a few weak to no coverage areas. Also the rooms seem a bit outdated with the lack of available outlets. My room had only 2 I could access without having to move the dresser. I suppose most visitors to the resort don't drive but I did and the area for parking isn't paved at all and is a bit of a walk to the Gran side of the resort. There are plenty of dining options available but sit down restaurants that aren't buffet need reservations.

Decent food (numerous dining options). Good service (everyone is pleasant). Great entertainment. WiFi works everywhere. Room was recently renovated and very comfortable. Nice views. Drinks are good. Huge pool and the temperature is perfect. Lounge chairs were a bit sparse. They could use some more of those. There is plenty of space for more lounge chairs. People save chairs with towels and never return. The staff should monitor that a bit more. Overall a good property, reasonably priced. I would recommend.

So there is the Grand and the Luxury; the Grand is in a period where they are about to do a massive renovation and it needs it 1000%. The location was wonderful, the pool closed too early and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The entertainment was great, the saxophonist (exceptional), the violinist (exceptional) the Dj’s and fun party on the beach (wonderful). This property will be amazing once they have renovated. So until then stay at the Luxury.

This hotel is lovely if you get the area where it has been renovated. Unfortunately we were not in this area and the hotel room was fairly average. We did also have some problems with the room including no conditioner in the bathroom, missing half a curtain, being in an adjoining room which meant we heard our noisy neighbours come back late at night, waking us up. It took several attempts at asking to finally get some conditioner and a curtain (into the 3rd day of our stay). After not receiving it on the 4th time of asking, we did do a review on their website which seemed to work as within an hour we had a follow up call regarding it. Unfortunately this follow up call also continued for the next two morning at 7.34am (we hadn't slept late the previous days due to the missing curtain!). It was extremely frustrating. Overall the staff are lovely in the restaurants and bars etc. The food was nice however quickly became very boring as it was the same every day - with a hotel this size it would be nice to change up the food and offer different things each day. The other themed restaurants were lovely, however it was frustrating that we were only allowed to go to three in the course of our 1 week stay as most evenings they didn't even appear half full. The pool and view itself was great, however the renovation of the hotel just lets it done and in my opinion does not match up to the 5* rating. I certainly wouldn't be prepared to pay full price to stay here again.

Check in took too long over an hour with some staff being short/rude when i was confused about how things worked, such as poolside cabana rental. When I spend as much as I did I expect kindness as a mother traveling with 2 children.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Bahia Principe was so disappointing and deceptive that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I arrived, things started off on the wrong foot. Despite confirming my booking well in advance, I was checked in hours late, left waiting around with no explanation or apology. When I finally got to my room, it was clear the resort was not as advertised — many of the amenities and facilities were either broken, out of service, or simply didn’t exist as promised online. The biggest issue by far was the food and cleanliness. I became seriously ill during my stay, and I have every reason to believe it was from the poorly handled food and filthy dishware and utensils. This was not an isolated case — it was a pattern. Every time I tried to eat, I was either served cold, undercooked food or noticed my plates and forks were still dirty. It’s clear they are not following basic hygiene standards, which is deeply concerning for a resort serving so many guests. To make matters worse, the staff was consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Instead of being treated like a welcomed guest, I was made to feel like an inconvenience anytime I asked for basic assistance. There was a total lack of hospitality — no warmth, no professionalism, no care. This was marketed as a relaxing, luxurious getaway. Customer service is terrible

The staff, specifically the entertainment staff is what made our stay the best. But the fact that upon checking in and arriving to our room, there were no towels and we immediately contacted the front desk multiple times...we didn't receive towels until nearly 6 hours later at 11PM. Then we had our room cleaned two days later, again no new towels were left, we had to be on the hunt and finally received some that evening. From fear of not getting towels we didn't get our room cleaned for the rest of our stay. The mini bar was poor name to call it that. The toilet paper holder was on it's last hinge. And there were never enough food - things were always empty like beef patties (never got to try one), bacon, mangoes, etc.

Check in was terrible. Stayed for one night after spending time with family in Jamaica. Check in was terrible, took over 2 hours. Couldn’t arrange transportation because they closed at 5 and we were still trying to get checked in. Front desk claimed to have made a reservation at Picasso’s restaurant, apparently they didn’t have one reserved for us. We then asked for take out since they weren’t seating anymore, that was another issue. Rudolph Fisher was unfriendly and unaccommodating. I’m not sure if it’s because we were also Jamaican, just didn’t live there anymore, but the service was horrible. I only chose this place because the other properties were unavailable. Should’ve went to Montego Bay!! A waste of time and money. I travel very frequently and have NEVER regretted staying at a place , until now!!

Only issue was check in was so much delayed . Anyway as a gesture they promised a late check out by 1 pm as a complement for the trouble they created for late check in

The housekeeping was not thorough. My tissue was not replenished. My washcloths were not changed and I had to call the front desk five times to get additional pillows and a blanket. The pillows are very flat worn and cheap.

I recently stayed at this resort, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. From the moment I checked in, it was nothing but issues. The card reader on the door was broken, and it took over an hour for someone to finally fix it. Not exactly the welcome you expect when you first arrive. To make matters worse, the room had no towels or wash rags. I waited for hours, only to end up having to go to the main lobby myself to get them. The staff didn’t just lack urgency they had attitudes like they absolutely hated being there. No one gave me towel cards at check-in, and I didn’t even know I needed them until I tried to get towels for the pool. Again, more attitude and confusion. The entire experience was filled with poor communication, unprofessional staff, and zero customer service. There was no room service, no hospitality, and no accountability. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this is not the place. Unless you enjoy frustration, rudeness, and doing everything yourself stay away!

Disorganized and Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Hassle Our experience at Bahia Principe was very disappointing. Check-in took hours, and our group was split up between the family and luxury sides, even though we requested to stay together on the family side.We were told that the family side was oversold. Once we finally got to our room, it was completely unprepared—no sheets, no towels, and the fridge was empty. I had to go back and forth to the front desk, and it wasn’t until almost 11 PM that someone came to make the bed. The baby crib didn’t arrive until day 2, which was incredibly frustrating. The only saving grace was the hibachi restaurant—it was fantastic. The staff were also kind and tried their best, but they were clearly overwhelmed. Overall, not worth the stress. We won’t be returning.

The beaches weren’t nice and too many locals allowed to harass you while on the beach. Also, the women were not friendly or nice only the males.

The payout of property is not convenient to the beach. Be ready to walk the major steps (30 steps) to get where to get to lobby from restaurants, beach and pool area. Dont leave anything behind. It will take about 8 min to get back. The luxury side has a better layout. The excursion with the small rum tasting room was very hot. They need fans in the gift shops area and the rum tasting room. Other wise staff was very nice and accommodating. Buffet was very good. I went to Sharkies for authentic dinner. Very good.

This resort has very little entertainment if any at all. It’s a huge property and it’s not handicapped accessible. The food at the buffet was cold. The rooms are renovated and updated. However, the tv sound was awful. The waitstaff and housekeeping were amazing. They always wanted to help and direct you if you were loss. One down side was at check-in it was not an easy process. I felt like we were getting a run around when we asked about our room. We arrived at noon but our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. To sum it up if you are between 18-45 and like to party this resort is not for you. If you need handicap accommodation it’s also not for you!

Check in was atrocious. Took over an hour and talked to five front desk individuals before we got a room. BUT we did get an upgraded room (18117) right next to the beach. FYI, if you stay in block 18xxx on the beach side starting Thursday, there will be outdoor weddings so expect loud music. Didn't really bother us, glad people were having a good time, but do know there are Karen's all over trying to make good things into bad. Do not eat at the Pisces or Jerk Shack if they are about to close. We did and regretted it's cold and non-edible food. Nyam Buffet was good for the most part. Some of the food was cold, they could use better heat lamps if the food is going to stay out for long periods. The lady that braided my daughter's hair was awesome. Wish I had her name to list. Pools and pool bars close early. 5-6pm for the pool bars, 7pm for the pool. Beaches and snorkeling were amazing!! the best snorkeling near a resort I've ever done. Almost everybody we met was great. Once this resort is updated, we will definitely stay again! Thank you John

Worst resort in Jamaica that we have stayed at. Consistently run out of food options, plates and cutlery at the buffet. Very disgruntled and unhelpful staff, waiting entire meal for beverage service and assistance. Resort is seemingly highly understaffed and don’t seem too interested in fixing any issues. Observed dead cockroaches in several exterior hallways for days without being removed. One of the cheaper options for an all inclusive, but honestly still not worth the money for this place. Waiting for the resort shuttle is another disaster!

The place looks great at first—beautiful beach, nice pools, and the overall vibe seems promising. But once we settled in, here is what we don't like: The Lobby: It’s open to the ocean side, which sounds nice in theory, but it means there’s no AC. When it’s 90 degrees and humid outside, it’s really uncomfortable there. Restaurants: The listing on Expedia says there are 7 restaurants—3 buffets and 4 formal ones. What they don’t tell you is that you can’t just go to the formal restaurants freely. You have to make a reservation at least 5 days in advance, but you can’t even do that until you check in and get your room number. On top of that, you have to stay at least 3 nights to be allowed one reservation at a formal restaurant. That’s a huge letdown. One of the main reasons we chose an all-inclusive was to enjoy the variety of food—not eat at the buffet three times a day. It feels like they hide these rules until it’s too late. Buffet Conditions: The buffet restaurants have doors open to the outside, so there are always flies buzzing around the food and your table. It’s also hot inside. Not a good experience eating there. Our Room has mosquitoes, and both of my kids got bitten even though we tried to kill them every night. They’re allergic, so this was a big issue for us. Also, the room door didn’t close tightly, which meant we could hear people talking and walking by clearly. After 7 PM, there’s really not much happening. The pool closes early, nothing to do for kids.

The food was excellent however there were long lines for every meal. Some staff went above and beyond, others seemed like they didn’t want to be there and were not very professional. The guests at the property were majority locals which was very interesting to see-perhaps they were running a discount. Loved our room!!! Thankfully we got one of the newly renovated rooms. I’d try the Luxury side next time, it will be an entirely different experience no doubt.

Beach was great, pool was alright. Have to line up for food right away when buffet first opens or you will starve because people who live nearby get a day pass and pack out the whole resort where you wait on lines for the buffet and when you finally get there there’s barely anything to eat. A casual meal at the buffet will take 2+ hours just to get some breakfast or lunch and if you arrive an hour after they open you will be waiting for awhile. The restaurants (especially the buffe) have poor ac units so you will be sitting there sweating while eating bland terrible food. I suggest go to the knife that was the only decent meal we had while staying there for the week. The sodas are all tasteless and have little to no carbonation. I am a drinker and I can count on 1 hand how many drinks I had because I would rather just stick with water or juice at that point. Save your money and don’t come here if you know what decent service or food is, unless you want to eat only jerk chicken and the worst driest burgers and softest hot dogs with stale bread. (I have pictures of everything) I go to 2/3 resorts a year including ritz in Puerto Rico. Been to 8 sandals resorts. 14 cruises. I’m an avid traveler and thought to enjoy a kids friendly resort in Jamaica for his birthday. Never again, I’ve been to this brand as a kid and they went way down hill in Jamaica. Now for the good things. Staff are very friendly great energy. Beach is very nice & pool is decent.

Went for a week from Sept 10-16th. Weather was great the entire week no storms. Hotel was clean and front desk friendly and helpful. Housekeepers and mini bar stocker we had were excellent. Bar tenders were the only ones who rarely smiled or looked happy and engaing. 3 different bars and same outcome. Resturants OMG were my favorite. Buffets were average. Would loved to have tasted more jamaicn food instead of same stuff. Going back as soon as it reopens after their renovations.
