Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The reason I am giving it three stars is because the exercise equipment in the fitness room were all broken. Elliptical was old and clunky and the treadmill had a rip in the belt. The weight were rusty. The pool was nice for the kids but the cannon was broken as well as the doors not latching entering and exiting the pool. Otherwise, great staff and clean rooms.

The chlorine smell was so incredibly strong in the pool area. We had small children swimming and their eyes were watering and sore from the chlorine. Two of the kids even threw up from it.

It was a great hotel room for sure very clean and spacious. Only issues are parking lot full of pot holes to which my car did not like. Also pool was left very dirty as there was fruit in it from a birthday party I am assuming. Which also wish we would’ve been told there was going to be a pool party as we wished to use it but it was full all day until 10 pm to which there was no pool towels left. But all in all great stay!

The staff was helpful, some of the stairwell doors to outside were jammed closed so unable to get outside in some areas. There were empty beer bottles in our room when we checked in as well as lots of food chunks and crumbs around the base of the bed. Only scaldin hot water came out of the shower, no cold. Swimming pool was fun for the kids

Air handler the first night was super loud. Second night was better. Window not functioning properly. We will choose another hotel next time.

We checked in and went to the room. The room smelled horribly like cat urine, the ceiling looked like it had previous water damage and the bathroom had mold. We immediately went to check out and find a new hotel- we weren’t going to let our kids (ages 2 and 5) stay there. They were complaining of the smell immediately. They refused to refund us and Expedia claims they can’t get a refund from the manager either. We didn’t get to stay there and wasted $300.

We had several problems. Our room wasn't ready on check in, was given a different room after waiting over an hour but the room had not been cleaned. There was old milk left in fridge and feces in the toilet. Was then given another room which did appear clean. We had a problem with room key that staff was not readily willing to assist with. They ran out of towels and had to wait until next morning for more. Phone in first room wouldn't call down to front desk. We spent a lot of time in pool area which my daughter loved...but there was chewed gum and used bandaids around the spa that was never cleaned the 3 days we were there and staff were aware as maintenance was there checking water quality. The restaurant and restaurant staff were all great. The front staff were all great too except when I had the problem with the key card. All staff really were pretty great. It was just the overall cleanliness that was pretty yucky. They did mention being short staffed in housekeeping. I mean, we will stay again but hope they work on cleanliness.

Rooms were a bit dated, but adequate. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Showers need some faucet updating. Carpets in rooms and hallways need some deep cleaning. Card locks on all exterior doors are deactivated, but we otherwise had no security concerns as the location of the property is a bit remote. TV channel options were abundant. Parking was always available. Breakfast is the usual, but average to above average in taste/quality and staff were great. Front end staff were very helpful. Cleaning staff not friendly at all aside from a nice young man who was collecting soiled laundry. Atrium rooms were really loud, but staff moved us no issues once we asked. Major issue we had was a horrible odor from an adjacent room that made the trip through the hallway nauseating for the entirely of our stay. Smelled like a rotting animal. After a day or so, the odor started coming into our room and a towel had to be wedged under the door to help prevent it. Hopefully that issue can be figured out by the staff as it was really bad.

For the price I was pretty disappointed. The AC/Heater until was nonstop blowing freezing cold air and could not be turned off or adjusted the panel screen was blank and the buttons didn’t change anything. So I put pillows over the vents to slow down the cold air and went to open the window to let the warmer air in, and the windows didn’t open either. Attempted to call the front desk a few times but no answer. Didn’t want to walk to the opposite site of the building a 3rd time after I had settled in for the night. Put my room in the middle of a softball team staying so between loud kids and a freezing cold night didn’t get much sleep

The door to our outside entrance was crooked and could see daylight from a couple corners, the AC unit couldn't keep up when the sun was on that side of the building, it wasn't very sound proof could here everything going on in the hall way and outside.

Bathroom smelled like rotten eggs for our entire stay and eventually spread to the whole room. Corner had a super dirty cobweb in it. Couldn’t control the ac so it was 63 degrees in the room overnight. Maintenance guy did nothing but give us a bottle of febreeze.

The first night we got there, the “new furnace” they said was recently installed wouldn’t kick on. When we first got into our room, it was rather cool in there. Maintenance came to look at it, and the solution was to bring us a space heater. Not move us to a room with a working furnace. So we dealt with the space heater to keep our room warm. We had 2 tvs in our room. One by the bed and one out in the living room area where the couch was. On the second day neither of the 2 tvs would work! Called down to the front desk, they sent the maintenance guy back. He didn’t know how to fix it, so they ended up calling the cable company to come and look at it. After the cable company spent some time looking over the problem with our room and a couple rooms next to us with the same problem there was no fix for it! At least not while we were there. So we paid extra for a bigger room since we were there for 3 nights traveling from out of state. And ended up with a little space heater, to heat the whole room, and 2 TVs that wouldn’t work! We weren’t offered anything to make it right. Not a different room to switch to, not a discount off of our stay, not anything.

I travel mostly for business. I'm looking for a quiet room, clean property, and nice staff. That's what this location had to offer. Breakfast was good, really liked that they had choices beyond eggs and bacon/ sausage, so my doctor doesn't yell at me. Front desk staff was very personable and accommodating. Restaurant staff, in the middle of the rush, was awesome. The room was very clean and far more spacious than it looked online. If I was needed in the area again this is where I would stay.

Check in was not a good experience. Both clerks were very unprofessional, more focused on the foid they were eating. When I explained I had a disability and would not prefer the second floor, they seemed very annoyed to have to try to find another room and wouldn't even do me the courtesy of making eye contact. Probably won't visit again

Upon check in, the clerk kept telling me door 3 to get to my room. Door 3 is an outside door coming into the hotel. It wasn't until I got to my room that figured out the room number was written on the key envelope. That information would have been helpful and a little less stressful at 11:00pm at night. Even if she said "your room number is written here..." Then there was no mention of breakfast stopping at 9am. So, I missed it. Seems like a lot of money spent for such a lack of information from the get go.

We have spent three nights at this hotel, and have not had any maid service at all. We asked for maid service and got none. The pool is a safety hazard and a health hazard in my opinion. One person at the desk was not only unhelpful, but actually rude and mean. If this place were not near my dying father-in-law, I certainly would not stay here… And will never stay here again… Or are there actually hotels where you have to beg for maid service? Apparently best Western is one of them.

The most friendly staff ever! Incredibly close to storybook land! The pool was perfect for my 2 year old since it was super shallow and had a kiddie slide. Would not recommend pool for older kids (grade 1 and up).

It was a nice place and convenient for my family with visiting Storybook land . All the staff was so nice and friendly. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool .. just wish the pool was a bit bigger. But overall we were happy with it . We would stay there again with our littles .

Stayed on the way home from the Black Hills for the grandkids to see Storybook, go to twist cone and swim. While the building showed a little age since the 40 years ago when we lived there, it was well maintained. The rooms were clean, pool was fun, front desk & restaurant/bar staff were all friendly and welcoming. We’re coming back once more this summer for grandkids to spend more time at storybook and will definitely stay here again.

Very dated, not very clean. My child got sick and I asked for a carpet cleaner and was told I'd have to find maintenance and submit a request but the maid brought bedding after a while. Stayed for a family wedding and my in laws vaccumed the lobby. Needs some major deep cleaning. Probably wouldn't stay there again without reason. Minerva's was spendy but food was good. They're kinda on the edge of town so pretty well have to drive anywhere you need something. The event center wasn't bad, fit the needs for the wedding.

I liked the kid friendly pool. Mine are getting a little too big for it now but still like. Breakfast was amazing. I like the variety. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The soup was phenomenal even though it wasn’t a normal kind of soup. Tortilla soup. Nice and cheesy. The beds were nice the drain in the shower needs some draino and the toilet could use some help too. Overall it still is a great place to stay. Everyone was nice and the ice machines got fixed within a day.

Clean and spacious room. Good breakfast and having restaurant on premises is perfect. Got a little noisy on Sat eve with dozens of kids roaming halls to get to and from pool. I'd asked, when making the reservation for a room on ground floor and a notation was made, but when got there, was told no request had been recorded.

We checked in pretty late on a Friday night. Hallway was a little noisy with people but bed was comfortable and I fell asleep quickly. Breakfast in the morning wasn’t the greatest but it was warm with a lot of options and the attendants were super friendly and accommodating.
