Staff was exceptional, and very friendly. Bathroom in our hotel room wasn’t the cleanest, with hair and some sort of film that ran down the shower when on. Pool was VERY cold, and the hot tub / sauna were both out of order. Located next to a gas station for easy fuel up in the AM for our road trip continuation!

Pool was not heated, was freezing. Hot has not been working FOR SEVEN YEARS !!!!! First room had no heat, so moved & had heat & AC Breakfast not great, not terrible. Sugary yogurt, tough hard boiled eggs, waffles, muffins & breads etc were ok.

The motel itself was mediocre at best. The swimming pool heater is broken, thus the water is ice cold. The employee did not tell us that tidbit upon check in. The hot tub and sauna are "under construction" i.e. broken and unavailable. The beds are new-ish...the old ones are still out back in dumpsters. This facility has lots of stairs and no elevator. Parking lot was full too. Motel is near a gas station and fast food. Also near the highway.

No elevators! You have to go down a flight of stairs to the front desk, then if you're put on the floor above then go up a flight if stairs with your suitcase. This is not mentioned in the listing.

Clean rooms, great staff! Breakfast is decent enough for the price and the kids always love the waffle makers! I really wish that the hot tub had been working because we like to soak after skiing at Spirit all day...

Bad timing. I was informed by text a few days earlier that the pool wouldn't be available due to a broken pump. Then, when we were checking in I was informed that the gym would not be available because new equipment had been installed and needed to be inspected by a third party. We were near the beginning of a 7 week road trip and this would have been our first opportunity to use muscles. The pool for my friend and the gym for me. They were able to fix the pool before we left but I didn't get to use the gym. Everything else about the property fit our needs but difficult to give perfect rating because of bad timing.

The property was extremely dated, however, was under construction. The construction area wasn’t segmented from available rooms i.e.; construction materials lying in the hallway, open doors approximately 10, not shielded off from the tenants. The fitness room and hot tub were also under construction. None of which was advertised upon booking the room. The steps leading into the building had settled and had a dangerous down slope to them, as well as the parking lot being on a hill. When I asked the Hostess about a possible discount, as the construction was not advertised, she said they had already discounted property. A search of surrounding hotels revealed approximately 10 at a price lower than I paid at this hotel. With the condition of the hotel and the laissez-faire attitude of staff and general uncleanliness, I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

The motel is on a steep hillside. Part of the parking is closed during winter months. If you have a physical disability this is not the place for you. Lots of steps no elevator. Also, they are remodeling.

The front desk people did such a nice job. The hotel needs to be demolished and start over. It literally smelled like someone died in our room. We had to open the windows and keep the ac fan running to try and air it out. We went with three hockey teams and several of the rooms had this fowl smell. It was just gross and not sure how it even could smell that bad. It smelled so bad it was literally on all of our clothes etc. Getting past the smell then there was just everything either didn't work or was just gross dirty. If all the other hotels weren't booked for the hockey tournament none of us would have stayed there. I can't tell you enough or even articulate how gross this place is and to absolutely stay away from it. I can't believe they even rent rooms in the condition the hotel is in. Just gross

When we got there they gave us a handicapped room when none of us were. So we got a new room and it was next to 2 people being very inappropriate. The bed had stains and hair in it and there was vomit in the air conditioner. We had to leave, to go to the Hampton across the street

The room was not very clean. They said when we checked in they were short staffed and so cleaning wouldn’t be done until after we left. Not sure if it had really been cleaned before we got there. Floors were dirty and shower was slimy. Will not stay here again.

The beds are very comfortable- the staff are wonderful. I really appreciate the extra pillows they got for me. — Really bad are the room doors- they kept slamming as people went in and out as I tried to sleep! I also wish there were signs in the halls for loud people to be quiet as they walk down the halls.

The staff and room were great! But the walls must be paper thin. Could hear the people in next room. The ones upstairs. And the slamming of the door down the hall of people going in and out half the night. Finally got to sleep about 1:00 AM when everyone went to bed finally.

We got a triple whammy with this room... we walked in and saw we didn't have a window, we had a door that overlooked the indoor pool. Even the quietest conversation from the people in the pool was heard by us, as it was all amplified. Pool didn't close until a little after 10, so we had to listen to it basically all night. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything the people in the adjoining room did and said. Then when I finally fell asleep I was ripped awake at 6:00am because the breakfast nook was DIRECTLY across the hall from us and the beeping from the damn waffle makers was loud as hell. Never again!

the only reason we booked the suite was for having two rooms-1 person needs tv to sleep the other needs quiet. The tv didn't work all weekend-reported to the staff for two nights- one staff tried to fix it and it didn't work so I was told we would get a refund and we did not get a refund. I've been emailing and no one is replying anymore.

Room was dirty, bugs in the sink, coffee bag left on the pit. Guy at check in was surprised out room was already ready at 530 pm. Also front desk said for multiple days, they we too short staffed to clean rooms in between. Definitely not the best stay we have had . Parking lot in really rough shape, deep holes that can wreck your vehicle if your not paying attention. We won't be coming back to this hotel

The property was close to the freeway and Jay Cooke State Park. Overall I would rate as a good value. The room was also quiet and had been updated. The breakfast was on the weak side, the parking area and outside of property needed some patching and painting. I’d give a B minus overall.

Needed Walgreens run and found 24-hour one close. Friendly staff. Drawbacks: Hard to find in the dark. Lit sign would have helped. Fridge needed defrosting, was so frozen over the door would not close. No protein, just carbs for breakfast. No wifi when we were there (working on it). A bit rustic, not upgraded. Constant fan on AC/heater shut off shortly. A bit of chemical smell to room.

We stay in this hotel whenever we’re in Duluth. It’s comfortable, clean, well managed and conveniently located, plus reasonably priced. Extra bonuses are the swimming pool and the breakfast. The entry from the parking lot level requiring a walk down stairs is kind of crazy, but that’s Duluth for you!

I was dissatisfied with the WiFi service to the whole network was down, they must improve that. Apart from breakfast on the days I was there were no eggs, something so essential, there must be more variety and have salt options practically everything was pure sugar food. More gastronomic variety is needed.

The front desk staff were really really friendly and willing to help with any needs I had. Breakfast was ok; but nothing to rave about. Disappointed that all the bananas had brown spots; still edible but not satisfying. The pool was too cold; my kids didnt want to go in it and having a pool for my kids was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel; it would be the main reason I wouldnt go there again unless I called and was told the pool was heated now. It was an average affordable hotel, decent cleaniliness and really nice staff but don't expect fancy as it's outdated.
