Best Western Inn

A bad experience - had to check-out with my family after three hours, due to terrible condition of hotel and pool area. I was not expecting Best Western to provide such shoddy service. The bedroom smelled strongly of tobacco smoke and was not very clean, with old furniture. The pool was closed but I was advised to use the neighbouring hotel's one, as both hotels have the same owner. It was horrible - filthy area with broken tiles on pool and broken furniture. Expedia were helpful but the hotel refuses to refund my stay, despite understanding the problems.

I enjoyed the staff and the exercise room.

Rooms were nice and comfortable, the AC worked great, the bathroom was truly clean and did not even have a single spot of mold or mildew anywhere, there were no bugs or anything else in the room and you could tell they actually wash and clean everything thats machinecwashable in the room. The bath products offered were actually nice and didnt dry out my sensitive skin, they had free, hot breakfast included with our stay, and I was even able to watch Netflix on the TV in the room. And the pool was operational and well kept, too. Veey clean looking. Employees were actually nice and greeted ypu with a smile. There was even a basket of complementary deodorant spray offered at the front desk. This is the nicest Best Western I have stayed at in a long time. Thank you, hotel staff, for making our stay so pleasant for our family. We will definitely come here again if we ever need a place to stay in this area.

This was a motel. The property had a moldy smell to it. The ice machine on the level that I was on didn’t work. The room had spider webs around the air conditioning in the room. The toilet inside of the room was not properly mounted on the floor and moved when it was used. Very bad motel.

They are pet friendly but our room was really clean. I appreciate that they are doing renovations but it isn’t loud at all this evening. We had an area to walk our two small pups. It is a very convenient, quiet, and much better than expected room.

Pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The tub was not clean. I asked for extra towels was informed the towels could only be exchanged. We could hear other outside. At one point we thought someone was coming in our room. The continental breakfast closes at 9:00. Myself and other guest were unaware and were turned away. I do not recommend. Try the mockingbird next door!!! They’re more affordable , cleaner, and their customer service makes you feel welcomed and not like a nuisance.

The exterior of the hotel appeared clean and well maintained. However the bathroom caulk and grout was dirty around the edges. Only one of the three bath towels looked fresh and clean. One had green a green leafy substance on it and another bath towel looked like it had be left on the shelf by the last guest. There was also some hair on the top of the toilet seat.

The room had a bad odor. There was leftover items in the refrigerator from the people before us. The breakfast was some of the worst I have seen. The yogurt was expired, the waffle mix came out oily/watery looking, the orange juice came out of the machine of a color I have not seen in OJ before. The hot water for oatmeal was cold. Needless to say we did not eat from the breakfast buffet.

Bookclub trip to attend Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird annual festival Hotel was a great location for getting to and from Monroeville square. Friendly staff. The evening Front desk staff even made a fresh pot of coffee when we returned from play. Rooms clean and comfortable. Definitely would stay here again.

I do like the fact that they were able to accommodate our party with side by side rooms and the hospitality of the staff was pleasant. Does seem like they need to do a little room upgrades, but the rooms were comfortable.

The manager was very nice and helpful. I liked having a fridge and microwave. It was quiet and the room was large with plenty of outlets for devices to charge.

A car pulled up around midnight with is stereo blaring and sat in the parking lot for about an hour. Seemed a little sketchy. Not sure i would stay here again.

This is the best place to stay while in Monroeville. I've stayed at 3 of the other Inns in town and the Best Western is definitely the best. Very comfortable bed and the internet did work; although, my son was not able to connect from his cell phone. I was able to connect via our laptop.

The queen size mattress was terrible/ sunken in and needed to be replaced. There was also several persons hanging outside in the parking lot keeping up noises and constant loitering in the parking lot from non tenants/ guests. Absolutely terrible and I will NOT ever book a best western property Again.

Old fixtures and TV didn't work

I evacuated Louisiana because of hurricane Francine, with my elderly mom and small dog. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the free, full breakfast every morning. The room was clean, large, and the AC worked well. I particularly appreciated the microwave and refrigerator. Our evacuation /stay away from home was quite pleasant. Thanks.

The bathtub in my room (108) was chipped and cracked so bad i had to spread a towel down in the tub to take a shower, i was afraid that i would cut my feet

I made reservations for two rooms one month in advance but when we arrived one of our rooms was occupied. We went into the room which had clothes, etc. In the room. We were given another room in a different building. Huge mistake by the motel.

I paid cash for two nights and had to leave town for a family emergency and asked for a partial refund. The owners refused to give it saying it was past 11 am. I think an exception should have been made. I lost out.

The staff person at the front desk was genuinely pleasant and friendly. She greeted me as soon as i walked in the door. This property appears to be an older building, however, it was VERY clean and everything in my room worked perfectly (the AC, tv, shower, coffee pot, iron, etc.). I did not have any problems while lodging here. I would DEFINITELY stay here again if/when I am in the area. I highly recommend this property.

Tried to cancel but phone person wasted enough time to tell us we past our time 15 minutes and couldn’t cancel without a 200.00 charge!

Racial oriented staff at night. Canceled several of our groups rooms and tried to make them rebook at a higher per night cost.

One member of the staff was awful. Desk clerk when we checked in was unfriendly. I will never stay there again.

We had some problems with service. The morning of our arrival I called to ask to be changed to a room with one king instead of a two queens. I was told no kings were available, although it showed 4 available online. The clerk told me that her system didn't show any available. We decided to try again when we arrived. Upon arrival when I asked to be changed to a king room on the ground floor I was told the only ones available were on the second floor. We decided to stick with the double room. When we got into the room the smoke detector was beeping like the battery needed to be changed. A guy came down and took the smoke detector out of the ceiling. I asked him if he was going to replace it with another and he said it must be the wiring as he had just replaced the battery recently. We were already late to our event, so I didn't press it. As we're were leaving the room to go to our event I noticed through the open curtains that the room next to us was a king and apparently unoccupied. We left for our event as we were already late. We returned late that evening and I noted that the king room was still vacant. It was late so we didn't feel like changing rooms so we decided to go to bed. When my wife turned down the comforter on one of the beds she found a large rip in the bottom sheet. I called the clerk, who offered to bring another sheet. We decided to just use the other bed. When we left the next morning we noticed that the king room next door was still unoccupied.

Very surprised by this motel (not hotel) I rarely stay in a motel anymore, but I felt completely safe. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was typical & very good. Check in and check out went very smooth and the staff was very friendly. We stayed here to see the to kill a mockingbird play downtown. It was not within walking distance but it was a very short drive.

This hotel was awesome the best Best Western I've stayed in in my 30 years of traveling my room was excellent i had to drive about 30 minutes to get to it from an event I was attending in Atmore Alabama but it was worth the drive could of had a little more shopping in the area but other than that the overall rating for the hotel itself was 5 stars great job Best Western on this one thanks again JJ

I had a great stay at the Best Western Inn in Monroeville from September 6th to 8th, 2024. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a smooth check-in and offering excellent service throughout the weekend. The location was convenient, and the amenities, including free WiFi and a delicious breakfast, made the stay even better. There was a group of us staying at the hotel hauling disaster trailers down to Florida. We needed to be up and out by 5:30 am. We mentioned this to the clerk and when my husband and I went down at 4:45 breakfast was all set up and ready! We were all very thankful and impressed! The rooms were clean and the beds were great. I slept well! The boys stated they usually stop there when they have to head to FL and I can see why. It was only my second trip with them, my first to FL. Thank you!

This was a clean, old fashioned motel, with good hot shower and all the necessary amenities. Reception welcome was indifferent and laconic. Breakfast was appalling. Everything wrapped in cling film, undrinkable coffee and apple juice (clearly had never seen an apple) and choices of heart attack inducing carbs and high sugar, beige food items. Truly awful. I use the term ‘food’ loosely.

Nice place, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Free breakfast with eggs, sausage, pancakes, bagels, toast muffins, cereal, yogart something for everyone.
