Miami Sun Hotel - Downtown/Port of Miami

Okay for one night. fair price for location condition. Room are small , old building but maintained. Bed comfort could relly need improvement,

We had to park a block away. The rooms only had 1 bed. Didnt feel clean we didnt feel safe. For the money we spend to stay here was not worth it.

The property was old and in poor condition. The rooms were extremely small. The bathroom didn’t have a sink. The sink was in the sleeping area of the room. The room was cooled with a window air conditioner. The elevator was old and in poor condition. The elevator cab smelled like grease

Very small rooms and public parking but otherwise good.

PROs 1) Price point $100s less vs newer hotels this close to sea terminal, 2) Our bed had very comfortable mattress, 3) Elly & hotel staff at reception were pleasant, very helpful, knew local places to eat, called an oversized cab for 4 persons with luggage to take us to sea terminal, 4) Cold water in lobby nice touch. CONs This building has issues due to it's age: 1) slow elevator, 2) shower tiles must have been installed by a blind person, 3) key used for suite door locks, 4) Hotel diner was closed / being renovate, so we walked to Flores for best breakfast ever!

Poor communication prior about loading/unloading baggage. Parking is a block away. Rooms are very small, especially sink & shower. The beds were better than average and the ac worked well. Convenient location, but an old hotel. Small TV with only local stations. Keep expectations low and you won’t be disappointed.

Quite expensive for what they offer, no breakfast included, shower did not fit anyone other than a slim person, the AC did not work so we got switched to another room, staff very friendly and professional, they had coffee in the Lobby in the morning so that was good.

My room was absolutely disgusting. There were black dots and stains all over my sheets. The air conditioner was not working properly, I was sweating after only being in there for a few minutes. There was a used bandaid sitting on the bed. It smelled horrible in the room as well, which could have even been from having no air running when I came in. I ended up giving them my key and driving home in the middle of the night after walking into what I saw. I have never had this experience at a hotel before, where it was so dirty I couldn’t even sleep there. I was with one of my girlfriends and I was promised “24 hour security”. We walked into the hotel lobby freely with not a single worker in sight. I waited a few minutes to try to talk to someone and still nobody showed up. I was worried being two woman in a hotel where anyone could walk in and use the elevator to get to your room with no key. Another thing I have never experienced at a hotel before. I want a refund on my money considering I couldn’t even stay there because of how dirty the room was and how there was absolutely no security in a downtown Miami hotel.

There were bugs and a homeless person lying asleep in one of the doorways. Was told it was a no smoking facility by the lady who checked us in, and a man/guest came down the stairwell smoking a cigarette.

Old and bad smelling building. Being downtown MI i thought the hotel would be suitable.The rooms were tiny, weak water pressure window air conditioner, old room fridge that did not cold beverages. They still issue door keys to open/lock your room door. It sits in a bad location. Pictures are deceiving and not accurate. Paid too much to stay in this sub-standard hotel.

Very Small and uncomfortable rooms... Bathroom was Incredible, washbowl was so small you will confuse with a men's urinal. TV was smaller than my computer screen and on 6 channels...

The rooms are SMALL! About 15’ x 15’. One little under powered “window shaker” air conditioner. The actual wood bed frame itself was broken. The sink is on the outside of the bathroom where the toilet and shower are. Again small, tiny bathroom. Stephanie and the front desk however was AWESOME! NOT worth the $200ish price. They need merge every two rooms into one. The bed barely fit in the room. Thankfully we only needed to stay for one night. But like I said the staff was polite, courteous and eat above and beyond to try and cater to our needs. Stephanie rocks!

Window right next ot heavy construction site ( awake since 6:30 AM. AC noisiest ever invented and dripping water in the floor, shower slightly bigger then dinner plate.

Rooms are tiny and have crummy window units so it stayed hot. Staff was great and area is nice. Wish the finishes were a little nicer for the price.

Tiny, tiny shower, beds clean and comfortable though, good enough for the few hours of sleep we got. The guy who checked us in was friendly though.

I like hotel sun is a few munite away from shopping area so that why I always go plus when I come from the ship my room always ready for me I recommend other crew members to go to stay at hotel sun lot a nice hotel down town Miami the staff are friendly some of them remember me when I come there excellent place to stay safe hotel.

When I booked the room, it was misleading that I had a quadruple with 2 double beds. The room was really small with 2 queen size beds not 2 rooms with 2 beds. I feel like that was false advertisement. Other than that, the hotel is at convenient location downtown walking distance from a lot of stores.
