Hampton Inn & Suites Waco-South

I chose it for the pool and hot tub and there wasn’t one at the location. It was advertised on hotels.xom

Took my young son and his friend for a small spring break get away. Got there and the pool was being worked on. Get to the room and the tv wasn't working. Finally found out pool wouldn't be ready until the next day. Even though I had paid through Hotels.com, the hotel charged again. I elected to check out that evening. James, the gentleman seemingly working alone, was extremely professional and apologetic. He even tried to get the tv to work and offered to put us in another room. But the in-door pool was the reason we were there for the one night. They refunded the second charge. James had the manager on speaker phone and she said she would explain the details to Hotels.com. to see if I could be refunded with them too. Hasn't happened yet. That was 3 days ago. I'll check ahead next time. :)

We specifically choose this place for pool & hot tub which was stated on website. We found out after checking in the whirlpool had been cemented in a year ago and the pool was very cold, assumed not heated. This was important amenity for us. They need to update their website.

Was very clean, comfortable bed and warm pool!

I was very disappointed when I arrived at the property and was told the swimming pool was not open for the summer. This was not posted on the hotel’s website when the reservation was made, and none of the sister properties in town would allow us to use their pool. I was not offered any type of discount or refund but was told I was get extra Hilton Honors points but I cannot confirm if that happened or not.

Was disappointed the pool was not open. The front desk clerk a woman of color with long braids… was AWESOME!! She was extremely professional and friendly.. recommended places to eat and visit!

What a great fun hotel, hottest heated pool on Earth, amazing indoor pool. Great breakfast, everyone very kind and nice and helpful. Just 10 minutes to the Baylor football game like we went to to see my WV Mountaineers beat them

Another hotel advertising a hot tub when according to the desk clerk it had been removed 2 years ago. Got room with 2 queen beds and had 2 towels and no bath mat. Asked about waco riverwalk and clerk had no idea what that was. While checking in clerk got phone call and was rude to person calling. Went down at night to get a bit of chocolate, but candy bars were $5. Never stay at a Hampton inn again.

This hotel is nice but pretty outdated and in need of a facelift. It's clean but just older. It would have been nice to know that the pool and hot tub were out of order. I chose this hotel specifically for those amenities.

Room was overtaken by bugs. No exaggeration. That is the entire reason for the rating. Desk staff at check in were great. Desk staff at check out were marginal. The place was oversold, so could not change rooms. Were able to cancel the 2nd night with full refund, so somewhat redeeming. Must deal with the bugs before this hotel should ever be listed as an option on Hotels.com

Staff was friendly. Room was very clean.

The bedding looked dirty, hair in the tub, toilet was dirty. Staff was friendly. Breakfast made us sick.

i loved how conviently located the property was. it was very clean. even the place to walk my dog was clean. the staff were so friendly and helpful. i will be staying there agagin.

I showed up a few hours early for check in, the lady at the front desk was very accommodating and was able to let me check in early, as well as having a lovely chat. All of the staff I interacted with on my stay were kind and courteous, and the room was clean and tidy

Very clean. Well located for convenient shopping. Well with in driving distance of the Silos and the Magnolia Baking Co.

We did not have breakfast. The staff was excellent. Room and the hotel were very comforting and clean

Overall stay was good, caulking around shower could have been better, there was a little mold on shower door everything else was good

Upon arrival there were bugs found in the toilet, bathtub and bathroom floor. After showering and walking to the bed a large cockroach crawled across the nightstand table top. Pulling open the drawer multiple roaches ran out and scattered in both drawers. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The room was extremely dated with furniture that was heavily worn.

Room wasn’t clean.. poop left in toilet. Hair on bed. I didn’t even stay. I just keep stuff in room and stayed with a relative until It was time to Check out

Comfortable king beds- spacious room

This particular Hampton Inn is in need of renovation. The rooms are dark and dated, especially for the price I paid. The night attendant told me breakfast started at 6, but when I went down at 6:30 the next morning, I was told by the indifferent morning attendant that it didn’t start until 7. I had to leave without eating breakfast.

We liked the big room. It was great for our four days.

Hotel called to cancel reservation because you overbooked it

Front staff was great—very personable. Asked us about the local DCI band competition we came to attend.

Staff was great!

Rudeness customer service was horrible, not friendly at all. The sheets had blood stains, no toilet paper and only 2 towels. The general manager didn’t seem to care, about how horrible our stay was, oh yes the key cards didn’t work

When I got to my room there was no water at the faucets. I called the front desk but no answer. Repacked my things and went back to front desk. Was told the water was turned off for another 10 minutes. I thought that would have been mentioned when I checked in a few minutes earlier. Room was OK other than that. Breakfast was good but for both days of my stay they “were out of creamer” for coffee. However there was 2% milk available as a poor substitute.

Hampton Inn is my go to chain for several reasons, one is that they unlike several other chains on weekends have breakfast at 6:00am while many others at 7. With long drives getting an early start is important, I had only see one that did not start at 6 until this one, now 2. But that was the start. Light switches very dated. But that is a small thing. In the shower a fixture was completely broken off and could only see the glue that held it. Only a small dish for soap, no place to put the shampoo or conditioner bottles. In the room the window with the ac/heater unit was on the far left and the desk was right next to it. So when trying to work on my laptop and the ac kicked on you are blasted with a wave of frigid air. I had to give up and no real other place to setup.so went to bed early. I like a hot shower and turned the handle most of the way and still cold. Turned the rest and after a couple of minutes became luke warm enough to step in but barely. Seconds after getting the shampoo in my hair the water went to very cold and had to quickly rinse and get out. No one at the front desk when leaving to tell about these things. The one plus is that I got home much quicker as I could not wait to escape. One other thing, I thought I had left my toothbrush and paste at my previous motel and asked it they had some as many motels do have such things. I asked and they had none.
