Charming Family Hotel

Four rooms upstair have to share a bathroom which is no good. There is not even a pantry with a sink or water tap in common area. I regret staying there.

I was happy with my private room with bath. The fan helped, it was quite hot and humid. Nearby are amazing Chinese restaurants and blueberry fields. Don´t count on access to the living room microwave and fridge; the owner told me that was off-limits. I was misled by prior reviews, she didn´t include those in her ad on Expedia.

The property is well kept and has the feel of a family home. The owner lives on the property, which is protected by separate locks requiring codes to access to the main door and each room. The neighborhood is quiet and near a bus stop. Only one other house separates the property from a commercial berry farm. Limited parking, but street parking nearby. Towels NOT provided. Located in a residential area, so no nearby food options. All in all I would stay there again.

All was fine except parking. Street out front was full of ice and snow and not maintained. As we were instructed to not park in driveway but on the street, we had to walk through slushy wet snow drifts and got shoes and socks wet. Also nearly missed an early morning flight when car got momentarily stuck in the piles of snow where we had to park. Otherwise the room was clean and the host friendly and accommodating.

We couldn’t get any hot water out of the faucets on our 2-night stay. There was so no TV, which wasn’t an issue for me, but it was a big issue for my husband! It would’ve been nice to have a microwave and mini-fridge in the room too.

We stayed one night with two bedrooms booked. We checked in late with no issues. The owner however told us to keep it down while coming in. No issues.

Text message must have been lost and house was dark when I arrived. No idea how to get into the place and no TV. Sharing 1 bathroom with 4 other guests was unexpected and is a deal breaker for me.

The room floor was dirty as well as walls and closet doors. Lots of damage to be spotted all around the room. The room is tiny and looks nothing like the pictures. Our room shared a wall with the common bathroom, which made it very noisy because of both loud plumbing and guests. I won't be back here.

I like the responsiveness of the owner of this property. Talked to her. Very nice lady. Our room was not clean at all. The bathrooms have lots of stain. The floor was not swept clean as I can see hairs on the floor. I have straight hair. My husband has no hair but we see curly hair so I know it's not swept clean. I do not believe the floor was mopped because we see stains on the floor. There was a dresser. I found some items on the top drawer such as playing cards, a item tag, etc. in the middle drawer there was a soiled t-shirts or some type of clothing item. There was a table with the plate cups and teapot, a hot water boiler. There was also a coffee maker and some coffee and sugar I believe. I use the water kettle. There was an insect inside. The teapot still had some water inside. I ended up washing everything on the table. The plate that holds the cups has slimes on it. That tells me it has not been washed for a long time. Overall, I'm giving this place no more than three stars. I give credit to the owner for responsiveness but I really think this place needs a lot of improvement in terms of cleanliness. For the price I pay $150 US dollars a night is not worth it at all. The tendons still have to a fee for cleaning. My question is why wasn't the place cleaned?

The bathroom was so dirty. Pee on the walls and around the toilet. Thankfully we were only there for one short night.

We had our 2 children with us and had to pay $50 each after I had already booked and paid. Floors were not vacuumed, windows had mold on them. No a/c. Bathroom shower had not been cleaned prior to our stay.

Easy to check in, very quiet house, clean room. Perfect for a quick overnighter!

Shower really needed cleaning. Extra towels needed for ladies. Towel rack was off the wall under sink. Cigarette butts in the garden. Room was nice.

The room and bathroom was dirty. There was hair all over the bathroom and the shower. The sides in the bedroom had dust and used co don and pink balloons with dust behind the dresser. It was disgusting. We didn’t see this until morning moved the dresser to charge the phone.

Good clean accommodation. Well situated for the airport approx 20 minutes away. Bit awkward to find initially.

It worked out fine. We let ourselves in. Had a comfortable stay, and left ourselves. Never saw any staff or owners. We didn’t require any help. Everything went smoothly. We might have missed a tv being in the room a bit. But the wifi worked great for our internet devices. Decor reminded me of my home I grew up in.

The little hotel was a very pleasant place to spend the night and compared to many other hotels the price was not through the roof. The location within about 20 minutes of the vancouver airport was very convenient . The room #1 was spacious and very clean with a very tidy bright bathroom. I would stay here again.

it is a really bad nplace to stay. No AC and opening the window to freshen the room leaves car and truck noise and pollution into your room. Cars and trucks are passing within 10 feet of your bed. It is very noisy

Average condition (can hear other folks in rooms and cold) but price ok so overall value fine

This is not a hotel, but rather a hostel/shared house on a busy and LOUD road. The place was not cleaned properly (hair in the bathroom, black dirt oozing from the bathmat). Loud/old pedestal fan in the middle of the room. Definitely not soundproof. This ad needs to be modified as it is misleading and mentions services we did not get during our stay.

Bed was not comfortable. Room too warm. Hand towel in bathroom missing. Instructions not clear as to which areas were to be used. Had to ask in each instance for clarification. Very nice owner, helpful after requesting. Need to be assertive with questions.

Humm, no ac, no fan, windows open and get hwy traffic. No thanks for seconds.

The room was clean and nicely appointed, comfortable and roomy. Only interesting thing is we never saw anyone else there during our stay, not that it was anything bad.

It’s very old bed and mattress it makes eeek noise even in slight movement. It’s very uncomfortable. I wonder if the owner ever slept on it test the bed. No coffee machine for one cup of coffee. Jar for sugar is dirty and the bathroom is dirty. I don’t think I will stay here again

Pillows smelled, lady was unpleasant, not welcoming, unyielding, bathroom unclean, one hand towel for all to use & not changed daily, pictures of property not true, definitely not an AirBnB, no breakfast, coffee or tea. No TV. I'm not even sure the sheets were cleaned, bath rugs unclean w/ hair on them, and tub dirty. I heard a loud argument midday by host as I sat in the salon. I asked to wait til check-in in the salon on ground level. Wanted add'l 1/2 day $$ to sit there for 2 hrs.

Avoid this place if you can, the landlord demanded $20 for letting me charge my car at night (the cost would have been less than $1). The room smelled bad and the shared bathroom is common between 4 rooms. Only stay here if you have absolutely no choice.

Booked for 2 nights, told not able to use shower after midnight. So canceled the morning of the first day. Not refundable. Most hotels charge only one night in case of cancelation before check in hour. This is not a “Hotel” just used the “Hotel” name for marketing and manipulation.

Very basic in a very good way. If all you need is a clean, comfortable place to lay your head, no frills, at a decent price then this is the place. Very prompt with communication as she provides her direct number.

Owner was very pleasant. She answered all my questions. The room and bathroom were very clean. Bed was comfortable. Very convenient location for catching the 8:00 am ferry from Tswwassen.

Not charming at all. The moment I opened the door , the owner was standing like a ghost and asked me why my 8 years daughter was not included in the reservation and made me to etransfer 50 dollars. The beds are so uncomfortable, I could not sleep for a minute . The place is really hot and no AC available . The funny thing is, even when I made the etransfer , the lady stood near my room door saying , it’s still pending, making me feel that I was scamming her . Seems like a business in mainland China . Stay away from her .

I did not meet the host, but we communicated on text and through booking site - they were very responsive to questions and we had an easy check in and checkout with details for parking our rental car. Bed was firm and very comfortable. Would stay again! Thank you!

Too close to the road. Any truck drive pass the whole property it is moving and noise.

Nice place to stay, quiet, very short driving distance to airport. Value for money, walking distance to shops, restaurants and other amenities.

Las camas son muy confortables y las instalaciones del baño son buenas, el agua caliente y con buena presión. El pequeño hotel está alejado del centro y de la última estación de metro, el restaurante más cercano queda a un casi dos km de distancia.. Se agradecería que se proporcionara información del costo y de las rutas de las líneas de transporte.

The "Charming hotel" is a very contractor grade home that is renting out each bedroom. Feels like a boarding house. No tv in the bedrooms. It was quite a long walk just to find a Grocery store or restaurant. On a busy street. There are a few parks nearby which is nice. The room was clean. I'm traveling on business and probably would just pay for a regular hotel room next time.

I didn't like anything about this property. The only thing good is I didn't pay alot. The closest restaurant was a 20 minute walk away. There was only coffee, no tea, no creamers. There was no TV. The garbage bin had not been emptied. I would not recommend staying here unless you have a car and don't want to pay a lot of money for a room.Expedia should remove it from it's approved list.

Didn't like the noise other guests were making and the noisy road in front of the house. The beds are great.... I missed that there was no tea or coffee in the rooms,even the coffeemaker was there.

The stay was amazing..... it's a private house and near to road but quiet and not that noisy.....the property was clean and the owner is a sweet and warm lady. Recommended stay if you want a decent stay for a budget. The property doesn't have a kitchen but there's microwave and refrigerator if you need to store or have a quick meal to go.

Some coffee/tea facilities but incomplete to make coffee/tea. Very noisy with traffic being on a main road. Overpriced for what you get

We didn't like anything much. General cleanliness was notperfect. You had to take your shoes off just inside the main entrance. The toilet needed plunging twice in two days. The hot water was turned down and we were requested to have our showers before 10:00pm to not disturb the other guests. There was only one toilet for potentially eight guests. The coffee service was down stairs just inside the main entrance instead of in the room or at least in the large common area just outside the four rooms. No bedside lamp or table on one side and redundant couch instead a place to put suitcase. Bed could then be moved away from the wall to make room for bedside table and lamp and access to the bed at that side. This room should not be more than $70.00 /night under any circumstance.

Provide some water for drinking and some plates for fooding

We were very disappointed with our stay. The shower in our room wasn’t working, and the owner knew about the issue before we arrived but failed to have it fixed. This meant we had to share a bathroom with other guests, even though we specifically booked a room with a private bathroom. It was inconvenient and not what we paid for. Additionally, the room had a teapot and cups, but no tea provided and the only coffee available was very old — making these amenities pointless. Given the amount of money we paid, having to share facilities and endure this level of discomfort was unacceptable. The experience did not match the expectations set by the listing.
