The gentleman that was working afternoon/evening was wonderful. The false advertisement of a hot tub, lack of operating ice machines, poor choice of vending machines, the “jet tub” that was the size of a regular tub, the shower water running through the shower walls and all over the floor, and that’s just a few as to why we will not be choosing Comfort “Suites” again. The pictures on the site ARE NOT even remotely accurate!

This place is in a state of disrepair and the beds were dirty. Has Housekeeping change the sheets on 2 of 3 beds! Also the floor wasn't vacuumed. The shower has mold. The public bathrooms downstairs aren't much better and the pool area is broken, broken furniture, patio doors left open by staff (doesn't look like they would close anyway) and overall in need of maintenance and upgrading.

Thankfully they will be updating the pool area this winter. It was extremely moist in the pool area. Towels became wet just sitting on a chair because of the humidity in the air. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices, the room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Nice staff but the condition of the hotel is horrible! Bathroom shiwer area all moldy. The toilet did not flush properly and the tub did not drain. The furniture in the room was horrible condition. The window area was disgusting and the room AC was likely on its very last leg. The pool area was very oudated and the water was icecold. The bathrrom next to the pool was full of mold behind the wallpaper peeling off.

Booked a family trip to this property safe to say do not bring your young family here. Not only was the surrounding area bad but once inside you are welcome to construction. Which also is actively being done in your room. When you move to your room expect your ac to be locked at 60 degrees with non cold air blowing out until about 1am. Not only that but people are l actively smoking in the entry of the building but also in their rooms. When you ask them about the situation they simply write it off. Pool was unclean and had a floating white film so we could even enjoy that amenity. Family’s stay away

Showed up to a closed pool. While I understand i would have preferred a heads up about this. Beds were clean. Shower had mold in paces that were easily cleanable. Shower was broken and only had hot water so hot it burnt me before I realized it was broken. The pool finally opened but was so slippery from a new paint job my husband slipped on the stairs and fell. The breakfast was as simple as could be. No pastries. Not even any fruit except apples. Would not stay here again.

Gave us the wrong key and wrong room number, so we went to a room with people already in it. Returned to the desk, they realized their mistake and gave us different room keys and a different room. The hotel lobby, hallways, etc. were dirty, however the room was clean. That being said, the AC did not work, and the hot water did not work. There was a sign on the front desk warning of “hot water issues”, and we were told to let the water run for 15 - 20 minutes for the hot water to work, however doing this did not help and only produced got water.

The hallways and elevators were very dirty. The whole place had a disgusting stench, especially on the floor that I stayed on by the ice machine. There were several bags of trash by the ice machine that did not get taken out, they were there when I checked in at 3pm and still there the next day at 11am when I checked out. On a side note, my room was clean and the service was good.

This place was absolutely disgusting. I have never stayed somewhere with such blatant disregard to cleanliness. You guys didn’t even get the old, crusty bar of soap out of the shower, but that didn’t hold a candle to the mountain of nasty old hair in the drains. The first room we were assigned, the bed spread was seriously stained, pulled back to see the sheet and it was dirty with hair in it. It freaked me out. We were also next to an elevator that sounded terrible plus the hotel was packed due to power outages which is understandable. I went back down and asked to be moved. The lady was nice enough but informed us that if the other room wasn’t up to standard she couldn’t move us again because they were booked ( not according to booking online) we were moved up to a different floor, still by the noisy elevator. Fine I suppose. Get into the room, sheets and stuff actually clean but the bedframe was broke and sagging and the mattress was absolutely terrible. You could feel all the springs in it. It felt like the life was gone from it. Very outdated. Best part of our room was the bathroom. It was pretty nice and a huge bathtub/shower with great water pressure. The hotel used to be a higher end hotel but it isn’t anymore. Might as well stay in a motel for less money. If they would update the beds at least and would do new carpet, it would be a pretty good hotel again. Breakfast was decent. Not the best I’ve had but it was edible and you could make your own waffles. If it weren’t for the crappy beds I’d give 3stars but ya got two from me. Sorry.

The room smelled, there was hair all over the bathroom, paint was peeling, and overall the property was dirty — just to name a few of the unpleasant things. We also didn’t arrive to the hotel until 1am and when asked if we could get a late checkout we were told such a request would be at an additional cost. Then we found ants in the room. Yuck! We tired to call down to the front desk but the phone didn’t work. We called from our cell phones we were told that because the front desk attendant was alone she could not bring our new keys to us. So down to the front lobby we went in our pajamas — twice because the new room keys were not programmed currently. The second wasn’t much better. Dead bugs & broken tile in the bathroom, a carpet that hadn’t been vacuumed and a toilet that wouldn’t stop running. DO NOT stay at the hotel if you want any amount of restful sleep. It was good for a laugh if nothing else.

The room was simply unlivable, with flies around and the general grossness of it all (paint on the carpet, weird stains on all the furniture). Overall a really bad experience. Hotel is extremely dirty, walla have not being painted in a long time.Light bulbs not working on several lamps in our room. Safety box does not work. We needed a pet friendly place for a stop on our way to northern MI. I’m sure this hotel was a grand lady in her early days. It is now worn and aging. From the peeling paint, very worn and dirty carpet, stained walls, moldy bathrooms etc it was not a pleasant experience. Add in the smell of weed and pet smells. The heating/air had one setting and seemingly one temperature. This place had pretty high reviews when we chose it. Very deceiving. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was actually quite good but the facilities are long ago in need of some major attention.

What I didn’t like about the screen, and our window was bent and it had a big hole in it very unsafe for little children. Also our door had a nice size gap in it so if it was not locked, you could easily kick the door in. I think maintenance should check on that room 205 but other than that the stay was very nice. The breakfast was convenient I like the bathtub, the room was very stuffy though as if it needs a humidifier in there .

The mattress was the worst one I ever slept on. Totally worn down, especially on the edge. I had to sleep on the lump so I didn't feel like I would roll out of the bed. The TV was poor picture quality and every time we turned it on, it went through an auto programming mode first before we could watch anything. To close the bathroom door, you had to push it hard with two hands. There was broken hardware for some fixtures in the bathroom and chips in the bathroom walls. We had a room that faced the parking lot & in front of our window was two hotel spotlights which wouldn't have been an issue except that the longer, darker curtains covered only the edge of the windows so I had to use a clip to pull the curtains together on the bottom to block out some of the light. I mentioned the issue of the mattress & bathroom door to the manager-on-duty the next morning and she said just about everything was going to be renovated soon. That didn't make me feel any better and won't help the next person who gets booked into that room.

It was a ok stay I’m glad it was only me and not with a significant other which may not approve. It was Stinson door and walkway into the room the show had shaving cream on the tub for the previous occupants. The lights in the parking lot were out in the front and side buildings making it hard to see coming to the front door. Piss poor at best for that. Lights that didn’t work cause they needed bulbs in the smoke detector removed from housing. Thanks

Staff was great and breakfast )was okay. However, the whole property needs a lot of maintenance. Comments on our room: bathtub drain didn't work, bathroom light flickered all the time, dresser drawer didn't stay shut, broken desk chair (missing caster), bathroom door didn't work properly, no internet in room, etc. We were there Thursday-Monday (4 nights); website lists housekeeping after 3 nights but none was offered. Would not stay there again.

The hotel is in renovation and the details of the room was revealed as poorly done. The shower curtain was literally “caulked” to the wall. The shower head shot all the way across the bathroom as it was not properly installed. The tub water spout was caulked to the tub and loose. The phone didn’t work and there was no way (finally unplugged) the led lighting to sleep. We were told that we were put in a “completely finished” room on the 4th floor. On a positive note the breakfast was excellent and delicious. For the rates charged for a Notre Dame football weekend; this hotel was a disappointment and we didn’t get our money’s worth. Doubt I would stay here again. We make this trip every year or two and will make a different decision next time. Anything you might do to make adjustments to final costs would be a nice gesture! Not upfront about their rules and policies with age requirements for checking in. Turned away my 19 year old son with a prepaid and approved online payment during a snow storm. They refused to allow him to check in due to age. Their age requirements are not listed anywhere on their website or during the online checkout process when they ask for guest information. Awkward- I prepaid for two rooms for our family. The check in was incredibly shady I had two holds placed on my credit card because I had two rooms…. I have never had this type of policy over the years of needing two rooms. The most awkward incident happened when we used our key to enter an already occupied room…. The front desk worker seemed completely unfazed by this incident….then person is the room we entered also seemed unfazed. Spend the extra $ and stay at a nicer property. I will be checking my credit card to ensure the $100 hold is removed- shady!

Average, not terrible but not great. Definitely not “on campus of Notre Dame” as advertised, it is a few miles from campus. Slow elevators, loud AC fan but at least it worked. Has pool and minimal workout room. Included Breakfast was skimpy. And want to charge everyone an extra $50 held for “incidentals” which is not part of the prepaid price.

We stayed here for two nights for a Notre Dame game and this hotel is in a ok spot but not really walkable. It’s an older hotel and my review might be skewed due to the fact that we paid over $900 for the two nights due to it being a game weekend. This is a nice hotel with very friendly hardworking staff and if I had paid $200 for my two nights, it would have been a great review. It’s older and the carpet had a musty smell. Breakfast was very nice with hot items not usually found in the free breakfast. Free parking but because it’s 3 miles from the stadium, we did have to pay to park in the St. Mary university lot. If I went back for another game, I’d try to stay closer but with the limited hotel choices, this is still a solid choice. All in all… a good stay and a great weekend.

We came here for my daughters 6th birthday. Pool was clean, but the surrounding pool area was not so clean. Wet towels were laying everywhere with no one in site. There were no clean/dry towels to use. We had to go back up and get room towels. Room was clean, but the bathtub was full of water when we arrived. Hallway smelled like cat urine. Breakfast was good, and the area was very clean! We were informed the property is under new management and he has a huge undertaking. Overall, we would stay again! Loved the close access to everything, check in/check out was quick and friendly.

Whirlpool tub was a nice touch to my King-Size Bed Suite. 30-minute soak while reading a book was very relaxing. Bed was comfortable. Room faced the back of the property, so it was quiet. Counter staff had to come up and get me a TV connection that I could use via remote control, but that happened quickly. Good free breakfast: eggs sausage.

Breakfast was bad…undercooked sausage, strange eggs, filthy around waffle maker. Good news is that you can walk to Dunkin’, just outside the hotel. Our room was dirty…someone else’s candy wrappers in the nightstand, hair in the sink. Cleaning spray still in the bathroom so I don’t think they finished cleaning. Liked the room layout though.

Greeting upon arrival was pleasant. Property is VERY dated but room was clean and sufficient for one night. Breakfast area was a mess from guests behaviour and staff not keeping area clean behind these slobs. Sugar all over counters, garbage on the floor, floors sticky underfoot, tables not wiped down after guests leave, supplies not restocked until requested. I would definitely not stay here a second time even for one night.

I liked that this place had two double beds and a pull out sofa. I didn’t like that I had to go back down to front desk to get the bedding for the pull out sofa. It should have been in the closet in my opinion. I liked the free breakfast but I didn’t like that the trash was overflowing and they were out of most food items at 8:30-9:00am when breakfast runs until 10am. They said they were out of plastic knives and they were out of waffle mix and hash browns and eggs etc but they were cooking more hash browns and eggs. We left to go to our room at 9:30 and by then they hadn’t restocked the coffee cups or plastic cups for juice. It was a very busy Sunday morning so while I understand it was busy, I feel like they could have done a better job of restocking items and been better prepared for the large crowd they had staying at the hotel.
