SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Topeka

There was trash in the parking lot and around the building including dangerous broken glass. The building is old with mold in the bathroom and holes in the walls and needs some serious upkeep.

The lady at the fron when we checked in was so unorganized and in her personal phone. Tho she apologized for being on her phone it didn't stop her. Meanwhile Im just standing there waiting awkwardly. Moving on to the pool that i was told when i called before i booked was open, it was green like swamp green, so obviously we didn't use it. i was so disappointed. Moving on to the room, the bottom of Our toilet was absolutely disgusting pee marks dried onto the rim and toilet bowl. The sheets were stained, The jacuzzi tub…it literally the only other reason besides the pool we booked this place, one jet worked and you couldn’t move the jet up or down so it just blasted water everywhere. The tub outside was missing pieces of the fake tile pieces. Our tv just kept shutting off. Randomly. No timer set and not sleep mode. Just broken. The heater… lol it made this awful sound like someone was dragging something heavy across the carpet. At 72 it blew out cold air, at 74 it was blowing death hot air. The lady at the front literally like disappeared after we checked in and never saw her again that night. We slept like absolute dog crap….Prayed for a decent breakfast at-least.. but ohh Breakfast.. the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were rock solid, no joke. The waffle batter was so runny it just spewed out the sides of the waffle iron. We just left. I will never stay here again. I took photos of the pool and everything described above. Hoping management will make this right .

Horrible they couldn’t figure out my check in and took an hour to get me a key for my room. The side door didn’t lock so anyone could come into the building.. I go up to my room and the cable wouldn’t turn on no tv so I go to bed i wake up with 10 spider bites on my neck and back the worst place I have ever stayed definitely would not recommend to anyone

Terrible Hotel! Room reeked of smoke so bad that it was causing headaches, the tv wouldn't work, and the pool was closed. Along with the terrible customer service, and the fact that we left and cancelled the reservation, they wouldn't give us a refund!

No elevator. Beware if you need ADA accommodations. That wasn’t an issue for me, but also, dried pee on the toilet seat, dirty ice box, dirty shower, faucet leaked all over the counter, shower valve put on backwards, generally outdated. I would’ve given 1 star but it wasn’t very expensive so I had low expectations. Also, it’s about as good as a normal or below average red roof inn.

I booked on Expedia and received a receipt & confirmation, but the hotel did not have the reservation. Not sure what the issue was but we ended up going elsewhere and are now trying to get reimbursed for room cost. Also, parking is very limited here so be aware if you have an RV or trailer. Otherwise, the lobby was clean and the staff were nice & tried to help.

Pool was not available during first stay or returning stay. Now i know why it was nonrefundable. It was a dump with poor service. Toilet was clogged. Left my watch during first stay. Called to say I'd pick it up during return and it disappeared. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The hot tub was cold and no elevator

AWFUL! the beds were dirty- the sheets were ripped. the pool was not in service. and it smelled bad. and the AC didnt work for crap

The blankets had stains on them, and my room had cockroahes, this place was nasty you guys need to take it off expedia

The room smelled like cat urine, the tub was disgusting, the floor was wet in front of HVAC, saw several roaches, beer cans all over the parking lot, lobby smelled like weed, etc. not good at all, but we were extremely tired.

There was mold in the bathroom around the toilet and the shower. Roaches everywhere, deadbolt didn’t lock, and a hole drilled in the door that wasn’t fully covered. I think the hole was where the peephole for you to look out was drilled on the wrong end of the door and turned around. They stuffed a piece of tissue paper in there but didn’t fill the whole. I noticed the hole in the door immediately. It was awful. Breakfast I didn’t even touch because if there were that many roaches in my room, I’m sure they were in the kitchen. So left my room early and didn’t eat breakfast. When I awoke, I put my glasses on and immediately noticed the roaches on the console the tv was on. They didn’t even run and I even took pictures of them crawling around. I felt Very uncomfortable and unsafe in this room and with the location.

My room had bed bugs

Woke up the next morning with bed bug bites all over are bodies and the management just shrugged it off and wont refund us are money or even apologize so i wouldnt recommend staying here

The bed was pretty rough. One lightbulb working in the bathroom. Shower head sprayed water everywhere. Living room TV did not work. And AC only cools the living room. The bed room was extremely uncomfortable.

Stayed for a quick overnight and needed a place to sleep for a few hours. The first room we got had a leaky sink and the toilet didn't flush. The staff was very friendly and moved us to a different room immediately. The other room was sufficient.

Does not have elevator. The remote controk to the tv didn't work. The ace was turning off automatically. Furniture looked old and one of the drawers was opening on its own. The blow dryer wasn't there. The floor was un even in the room by the 1st bed. And the shower head was rusty. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Well, I’m gonna start with this step-by-step. I say that because there’s no freaking elevator and it’s only two stories but that’s something you should be informed about. Also, the fridge didn’t work. The AC was noisy and filters were disgusting but the biggest issue I had was that the comforter and bedspread were, nothing more than a summer blanket with no actual density or weight to it. That’s very offputting when you go to a place to get a good nights sleep,

Needs updating

Me and my boyfriend booked a jacuzzi room. We had issues with our key card not working but the issue was quickly resolved. The room was not what we expected at all, there was ALOT of wear and tear, very outdated.. the tv didn’t work the whole stay.

Carpet is very dirty. Bathroom needs to be upgraded. Toilet needs to be changed since it did flush all the way. Bed is okay.

Curtains were coming off the track. Furniture beaten up. Went to unplug something and all the wires came out. Shower curtain too small.

We checked into one room and found that the carpet was all wet from a leaking A/C. During the few minutes we were there, I noticed that the bathroom was not very clean. We were switched to another room and there, the bathroom light did not work at all and the outlet at the sink - where you plug in the coffee maker, blow dryer, etc. - did not work. We used the bathroom in the dark and called it a day as it was very late. The staff was very sweet and helpful, but neither of those rooms should have been available for guests.

We had an impromptu stay on our drive back home from IN to CO. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. For a discounted hotel, we actually enjoyed our stay! There’s something to be said about how employees treat their customers in a positive and genuine manner - thanks team!

We had a storm that left my family without power during a heat storm so I booked this for comfort for us and the pets. I booked through hotels.com as I have done many times and places before with no issue, but the desk staff was adamant that the payment had not came through on the 3rd party site, yet it was showing it had through my bank and through hotels.com. Whatever, we’re hot and decide to check in and pay then request a refund from the site. We paid higher rate for the same room, plus our pet fees. Room was ok served its purpose. Swimming pool must have just been filled as it was freezing and unswimmable. The next morning we got a knock on the door by housekeeping at 9 to clean our room but we were still in bed as it was a late night. Overslept a bit, exactly at check out time I get a call to my cell phone-not the room phone as it should have been-from the manager stating I needed to bring her $20 cash or card to have 1 single hour extra though I’d been charged for the room TWICE already which she acknowledged. Then she tried to run my card for $200 instead of the $20. She was rude and 3 weeks later is still not helping with the refund to the 3rd party site. Watch your statements with this place..

I’ve been standing in the lobby for 25 minutes calling, ringing the bell, there’s no one here! Sign says to call. No one answers! This is unreal!!it’s just abandoned

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The staff were very rude, especially the manager. She refused to refund our room even though the smoke detector went off all night, the tv didn’t work, there was no hot water, the juice machine didn’t work, and it was so scary that my husband had to sleep with his gun. When I called the manager she tried denying all of the problems even though the front desk staff said they had multiple complaints. The manager even hung up on me when I tried to complain. She said she didn’t care and that she didn’t have to refund me and then hung up.Horrible hotel!!!

Staff was rude. Asked the front desk for towels, the ladies response was “that’s not my job.” Called the manager, the manager hung up on me. Smoke alarm was hanging off the ceiling. Bathroom was dirty.

Sally was super at this property. So friendly and helpful and caring. Everything was just right and affordable.

Terrible service. They did not honored the price that was on the app. THEY canceled my stay because she said I was paying too little for my night. Lady was very rude talking about she didn’t have her glasses and could not read my confirmation number. If she knows she can’t read without glasses maybe she should not show to work without them.

Stephanie at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. She went above and beyond to find a suitable room for us at a late hour check in.

Seemed like pretty average place. Gas stations, dining close by, right off highway. Room was clean, decent condition for overnight stop. Seemed like an overall good hotel.

The staff were great. Unfortunately there was a used syringe in the parking lot and lots of trash on property. Rooms are old, would not to use the shower. Ultimately though I guess you get what you pay for.

Very clean, quiet, great location. Nice friendly staff, excellent complimentary breakfast. Cleanliness, safety and price are the three most important factors in a hotel for me. This one is very affordable, clean and safe. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and beds comfortable. The lady who checked us in acted strange; took her awhile to check us in. She said she was soooo tired, but her eyes were almost totally closed, like she was on something. Morning front desk person was friendly and efficient checking me out. Breakfast was delicious!

Our stay was comfortable and quick. Front desk attendant was friendly and professional. She did the whole breakfast in the morming too which was a good variety of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. Room was clean just outdated.

The swimming pool water was the perfect temperature. The gentleman that prepared the breakfast did an excellent job. He was very nice and friendly. I could see why he has been there 10 years, he is very good at his job.

Decent older hotel. Staff was friendly and things were fairly clean. We did have 2 smallwr issues- fridge wasn't cooling, even after trying to adjust temperature and tv wasn't automatically connected to cable so no tv. If it had been a earlier in day we would have asked for help on those issues but we were too sleepy to care much. Breakfast ws good.
