Website needs to be updated. Website stated you had a hot tub. That is one of the reasons I booked the stay here. Need to provide bigger toels for the pool. Felt like I was using a hand towel.

My family and I recently stayed at Spark. We had such a nice experience. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning was perfect and I loved the little ideas they had for making a fun and tasty breakfast. Unfortunately the pool was closed so we were unable to swim, but our stay was top notch. THANK YOU!

Our room had half of a set of fresh towels. There was a dirty wash cloth hanging on the bathroom wall hanger. The elevator sounded like it was about to break every time you got in to go up or down. And the pool had a ton of dead bugs floating in it, along with a condom that floated up after my youngest had jumped in. I notified the front desk about all issues, trying not to complain, but nothing was done and i was way overpriced for my disgusted stay. Very disappointed to have waisted be entire paycheck there trying to visit my son in college out there. This is 3 and a half hours from my home. I was hoping for just a little bit better than a condom in the pool and dirty wash cloth hanging in my bathroom. Then being told i had to wait for clean wash clothes that were supposed to be brought to my room, but never were.

The rooms were not ready for many guest when they arrived. They gave us a soon that smelt like urine, Floors were soaking wet and it had many fans blowing. They put us in another room that had a bad odor, Many rooms near us had barking dogs. The continental breakfast consist of cereal, a few bagel and a few muffins, There was not enough to accommodate the guest. If you are not down there by 7am when they put the food out-You will not have anything. The elevator is sketchy and extremely loud, We thought we were going to get stuck a few times.

It was just ok. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Carpet in the rooms appeared brand new..carpet in the hallway was terrible. Something wrong with the elevator, it was running terribly. Pool was clean.

We chose to stay here because it was a Hilton hotel. Unfortunately, this was the worst Hilton hotel I've stayed. The property appeared in disrepair. The paint was chipped and peeling, it seemed there was a mechanical issue with the elevator, and the common areas were not air conditioned in July. When we opened the door to our room, we were immediately hit with the smell of smoke. I contacted the front desk and asked for a different room or refund and was told that was not possible. If these things weren't bad enough, there were dried buggers on the bathroom wall and hairs in the shower. Overall, this hotel is filthy, mismanaged, and in need of maintenance.

This hotel was not clean. They had beetles on the coffee stand. The sheets had an old red stain probably from some type of blood which is gross and unsanitary. The breakfast was lacking just some cereal and bagels and minimal fruit (not well stocked either)! After complaining when things went wrong to the front desk they called manager and said I’d get a refund I never heard anything about that and had to reach out myself days later.

The hotel was easy to get to. There was a McDonald’s, Starbucks, and gas station within walking distance. Plenty of dining just a short 5 minute drive away. The beds were amazing! Our heat didn’t work, and staff came to fix it but it still didn’t work after it was “fixed”. Breakfast was enough, but nothing special (bagels, boiled eggs, muffins, and juice).

This is a freshly painted and renovated hotel that used to go by a different name. So, some of the hotel is noticeably older, like the elevator. But, that being said, it was pretty nice. The rooms are just converted over to the new branding, but I think it works for them. It’s simple. The beds are big and comfortable. The shower head was great, good pressure. The staff was wonderful (helped us after our keys didn’t work since some of the doors are of course older and a bit janky). The tv was good. The wireless chargers that were included in the room was a plus since my bf broke his charger on the way up. I will say that there was a weird gap at the bottom of the janky door that I wasn’t a huge fan of, but oh well. The free breakfast is exceptionally simple, but does the job. Would stay again as a cheap option away from the hustle of Grand Rapids downtown.

The room was clean, which I appreciated, but several issues made our stay frustrating. The toilet would only flush if you held the handle down until everything went down. The tub stopper didn’t work, which was a big problem with two six-year-olds who needed baths after a day at the waterpark. The front desk told me none of the tubs in the entire hotel work, and there were no rooms available with a functioning tub. The door to our room wouldn’t latch unless slammed, and breakfast was disappointing just bagels, cereal, and muffins, with the yogurt machine out of order despite the hotel’s advertised breakfast. While the cleanliness was a plus, the lack of basic functioning amenities and misleading advertising made the overall stay disappointing.

I explained I was not advised of the card hold and had no card at the moment to put it on. Desk was uncaring even when I said I couldn’t get a refund in time and would end up in my car. Sorry with a smile. Only after I pressed and stated I had already paid in for for the room did she say Ok Ok rudely, slide a card across and flatly say room number X breakfast at … have a nice night. As monotone as possible.

Noon I left and came back at 10 AM and my room had already been cleaned and the general manager Steven Poelman informed me that just because checkout is at 12 that doesn’t mean they start cleaning rooms at 12. They start cleaning rooms at 9 AM and I did not inform them that I was leaving overnight and I should have told the front desk that I was leaving for a few hours and coming back when I asked where does that state at in a policy he told me it was common sense. All my belongings was taken out of the room and when I asked where my things were, he said he doesn’t know things end up escalating. I called the police to retrieve my things and I still did not get all my belongings. Don’t stay here unless you want you privacy invaded!!!

They overbooked the hotel, canceled my booking. We arrived late at night after a game with children. They informed us they had one room left and since all of Grand Rapids hotels were fully booked they would charge me $700 for the last room. I said no and then the manager wanted to negotiate and rate asking what I could pay- I said what I booked it for and he said no. It was highly unprofessional and I will never stay at another spark hotel again. The manager should be fired.

The room was clean and comfortable. Greeted by a very friendly front desk person Bobbi Jo I think her name was. Was nice to have fruit and muffins for breakfast. We didn't spend much time in the room but would definitely stay again should we be back in the area.

My stay was fine until morning of checkout. A couple hours before checkout (I was still asleep and had the do-not-disturb sign out), someone who I’m assuming and hoping was an employee OPENED my door. Because I was asleep, I didn’t really see anything, and convinced myself the sound had been the door across the hall. Anyway… When I got up, that’s when trouble really hit. My door was OPEN. Thankfully I had the bar across so the door could not open more than an inch, but it was open. While I had been sleeping. I informed the front desk when I checked out, but nothing was really done other than an apology. Idk, I’m just still a little rattled by the experience and would have expected better of a Hilton.

This place has really changed over the years .. used to be clean, now grimy. Staff was attentive and fun, now often rude. This last time was the last straw .. staff at the front desk was fine but the management was rude and greedy when I asked to check out a few days early due to a death in the family. The management acted like a robot and ignored my family's years of stay.

The hotel main areas were not that great- wall paneling broken, carpets dirty, wall paint peeling, old elevator that sounded like it was going to break down. The room was clean enough- bed was clean- entry floors had a few spots and could have used a mop upon entry. The location was out of the city enough it felt pretty safe.

staff was extremely friendly!! great location we stayed the night for a concert at Van Andel, only a 12 minute drive from the arena clean modern room and thank god for the wireless chargers! we traveled across the state and i left mine at home! we will definitely be staying again when we find our way back to GR’

Didn't get in until midnight, since we had a wedding and couldn't check in early. Had to parknin the back of the building with no access key and walk around the front of the building to get in. Suit was drenched. Room was 80 degrees and the AC didnt work well enough to cool the room to the desired 65 degrees I out the thermostat on. The "breakfast" was cereal and bagels. It was clean and someplace to sleep. Just dont expect more than that.

The breakfast was horrible both mornings No hpt water in tea case - no microwave in food area just 1 in lobby area. Yogart machine was broken. Only fruit was old apples. Only thing to eat was vold cereal because no hot water fpt oatmeal. Veryy horrible breakfast

Staff was friendly and helpful but the carpet, ceiling and fixtures need to be replaced years ago! Continental breakfast was good and rooms were ok. Looks like newer room carpet but walking in socks showed the floors were very dirty and hallways outside of rooms room are just gross.
