W Minneapolis - The Foshay

Of the four elevators, only two were working. This caused backups in the lobby at check in time and at the end of the day. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were comfortable and very clean. Just a hassle to get to your room.

Nice enough hotel. Undergoing refurb so many areas out of action including viewing platform which was the reason we booked it. Disappointing. Gym is as very small & not many machines. Staff were good though and informal cafe was nice. Aim restaurant at was exorbitant & not worth visiting. Over $100 for a steak!!

Well worth the stay in this historic property. The roo. Was updated, but they should ditch the mini bar and give you a small frig. Staff was good. Gym needed a makeover; several broken machines.

I rented a total of five hotel rooms for a business conference. I had hoped to impress my team. But instead, they lost most of our gift bags that they promised to put in the rooms. And had abominable customer service at the front desk. My room had a leaky toilet and a shower that didn’t work very well. Also, the hotel bar, which is half the appeal of this property was under construction, which was not published anywhere add all that frustration and disappointment to trying to resolve with the manager, whom has not returned a phone call or email since my stay. So much for trying to resolve it the old-fashioned way and give people a chance Before you write a poor review.

This is our favorite MSP hotel- it's beautiful historic building, has classy art-deco interiors, great restaurant Manny's on ground level and cocktail bar on the 30th. The observation deck gives look at the skyline from Minneapolis' first skyscraper. (romantic). NOTE: Check hours of observation deck to make sure you can get up there.

2 elevators were out of order. Each time we left the hotel it took forever to get to our floor.

The history of the building and the observation deck. The inside was beautiful. Amazing quality, relaxing atmosphere. Very pleased with our room. The parking provided from the Foshay would have been $224 for the 3 nights and 4 days that we were there. We parked across the street at the RMS Plaza for $37.50. So glad we made that choice.

There are a lot of hidden fees. We were staying on the 12th floor and our view was the side of a building and a parking lot. The staff was helpful. The room was clean. The gym was tiny. We go drinks at the Prohibition. It was the best old fashion I have ever had (Simon is a wonderful bartender). But it was $80 for 2 drinks. It's a great location. We walked to most of the places we were visiting. The beds are so comfortable. Honestly the rooms are a lot smaller than I thought they would be. It was almost as much as I pay for a month of rent. I was looking at pictures online and they are a little misleading. Most of their pictures are of the suites. I think next time I am going to see what is cheaper. To me personally, the price was more than it was worth. That said, my girlfriend disagrees. She thought it was amazing. Do your own research. But please realize there are so many hidden fees. They have full size bottles of Momo shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There are 2 full size bottles of lotion. All of which are in the mid double digits. Their welcome bottle of wine is not complimentary for the room. And I never saw a list of what anything in the mini fridge costs. If you are offered anything just know non of it comes with the room. I'd say 7/10 overall. We took a video of the room but no pictures that can be shared. But I am attaching our Prohibition drinks, as it was the highlight of the stay.

Beautiful hotel in a historic building. Great food and entertainment in the area, and the Prohibition bar was awesome. Parking in that area is a pain, and the price for valet parking is a little over the top.

Very Clean and very cool atmosphere

Our room had not been deep cleaned for sure in a long time. The switch plates one next to bed on mirror very sticky and on cleaned including the mirror around it. Smeared bright make up on black chairs, every edge every baseboard so gross, used bottles of bathroom products, stains on white bed sheets, and pillow cases, dirty gross on your mattresses no bed bug protections. It was gross. No cups in room. We paid a lot of money to have a crap room. We could of stayed in a less expensive hotel and it would be super clean. Staff were awesome at least. Rooms vs price not worth it. Had a king corner on a high floor.

The overall stay was good, but not what we expected for a "luxury" hotel. We booked a King Suite for a birthday celebration and loved the room's layout, space, design, etc. However we were disappointed to find the pillowcase on the bed was dirty from either food or make up and greasy hand prints on the windows. We were offered a room change and found it to be somewhat of a downgrade. The new room had marks on the walls and missing artwork with exposed hooks. The bathroom was smaller and less luxurious than the original room. We were also disappointed with the lack of exta blankets or pillows in the room. However, the staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating tp our requests. The drinks at the Prohibition club were also delicious with amazing vies of the city!

The suite I booked smelled so badly that I needed to be moved. I was downgraded for my 2 night stay, into a dirty room that was then not cleaned/serviced. The lights and HVAC controls stopped working in the middle of the second night. Upon checkout, I was not able to receive confirmation that my billing rate had been downgraded, since I had "done everything through a third party (Expedia)," and they could not help me further (other than apologizing).

Terrible check in experience, receptionist was very confrontational and complaining in front of me. He took 25min to check me in, as he did not know what he was doing. I sent an email to the management sharing the bad experience, but they never cared about answering. Oh, and when I got to the room, I found some food leftovers from the previous guest. Very suspicious cleaning activity at the property. Very, very disappointing. I paid W prices for a Motel8 service.

The elevators were very slow and often long waits. The room I stayed in needed updating and better cleaning (stains, sticky floor, chipping paint). Staff was fine but seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else. Speakeasy drinks were awful and terribly overpriced. I loved it the first time I stayed several years ago, but after this time, I will likely check other options for future trips.

The rooms are getting a bit beat up. Beds are not the firmest. No extra blanket. The doors slam so when anyone on your wing lets their door close the whole room shakes. Elevators are very fast and convenient. Gym has enough to keep you active. Great dining around the area.

Perfect place to stay with every amenity you would ever want. Bonus is it is right next to Manny’s Steakhouse! East walk to US Bank, Target Center/Field, and numerous bars and restaurants. Enterprise car rental right around the corner. Rooms have great city views, clean, great service, quiet and comfy. Loved our stay and we will be back! Living room bar makes a rad old fashioned.

We stayed in a corner suite on an upper floor. It was gorgeous! Great panoramic views of city! Easy walking distance from everything downtown. Would definitely stay again!

Wifi not included, parking fee outrageous, tiny paper cups for coffee, low water pressure, flickering lights. Room very basic and not at all worth the cost.

For the price of this “luxury” hotel you would expect more. From the people running the valet (who lost our car! They didn’t know which building they’d parked it in) to the people checking us in ( they said they over booked the rooms and make a bit of drama when we checked in. For the price and how far in advance we booked this should have been a non issue and felt very stressful) I didn’t feel like they were very great. The room was small, the beds had red stains on the mattress. Also internet is an extra $16 per day and it didn’t work very well. Room service was nice, but very expensive. The free coffee in the lobby was always empty. Unless you want to spend unlimited funds to be in a suit, or into clubbing at the hotel bar, I would avoid this hotel. There are other lovely hotels with bigger rooms and friendlier staff and amenities included. We spend $1700 to stay 3 nights and the experience was not worth it.

I will be calling customer service. We arrived 20 minutes after check in to learn they “overbooked” the rooms and decided to move us to another hotel. This hotel was further away from the game, not as nice didn’t have adequate parking for our vehicle causing us to have to drive our vehicle a mile a way just to park it. I purchased 2 rooms and the people who moved us from Foshay only booked us with 1 room and when we arrived to check in they didn’t even have that room ready. Worst experience ever I will be asking for my money back.

Great stay at the W. Staff is always friendly and accommodating.

Staff were outstanding, I was ahead of schedule on my travel so I called ahead to inquire about early check in and they were able to accommodate and had my room ready for me early, very appreciated after a lengthy trip.

The staff here was the most unfriendly I have ever witnessed. Also, no coffee in the lobby is just sort of like meh…we don’t give a hoot about our guests. I will never stay at this location again.

Check-in was was very smooth and super friendly and helpful. She was also extremely knowledgeable about amenities and surrounding restaurants. Definitely stay again.

Try and get extra coffee, or a coffee cup or even a toilet role. Good luck. Took four deliveries to get coffee and two new throw away cups for our in room coffee. Door man is too busy talking to the wheel cleaning guy outside to open the door or say hello. Forget the guy to help you with bags from the room ti the foyer he does not turn up.

The decor of the property felt very classic and chic at the same time. The main entrance was somewhat hidden and difficult to locate when driving; however, once located the staff was very helpful.

Loved the W hotel at the historic Foshay building in Minneapolis. Great location and service.

We enjoyed the rooftop acess and watching fireworks that night. The location is convenient if you like night life. We asked for a high floor and they were very accommodating. For parking, its cheaper to park across the street. The hotel valet is a bit expensive. Otherwise, we are already planning on going back. When we came in on Saturday, there' was a dance floor and people were having so much fun.

This is a beautiful hotel; it is such a shame that their staff weren't as excellent as the hotel was. It is a great hotel in an excellent location.

Parking was a bit inconvenient but it’s in downtown so it was expected, but staffs and rooms were nice and up to standards. Would def recommend if you’re looking for a luxurious stay.

Very nice and clean. Excellent chicken satay, chicken wings and fry bread from the lobby bar area.Nice lookout on 30th floor.

Check-in was great. Room was excellent. Our waitress in the Speakeasy was fantastic. Waiter at Keys cafe was very poor. 30th floor observation deck was closed and disappointed us.

I appreciate the history of the Foshay, it is a beautiful art deco style hotel. The owners maintain her grace and beauty yet ensure their guests enjoy ssfe and relaxing stays. Keys restaurant has lovely breakfast choices and everything is fresh and served hot and delicious.

I stayed here last year and stayed again this year. The staff is incredible, especially the manager Anthony who was very helpful. The food at Manny’s is a must go to. I ate 3 meals there in my 2 day stay.

Great hotel but nothing was open past 10pm for food, not even room service on a Monday night upon arriving.

Definitely not a super clean room, was easy to tell it either doesn’t get booked very often (it was right by the elevator) or if it truly had bad cleaners. The sheets were very uncomfortable, felt like paper. The complimentary birthday card in our room had the wrong name on it so that was disappointing. Unfortunately the night we stayed a private event was taking up the 27th floor so we couldn’t access the prohibition bar.
