If they charged around £50 for their room, we could have overlooked some of these issues but certainly not when they charge 'posh pub room" prices. We stayed in one of the many rooms at the adjacent building, not at the actual pub, which was tiny after the bathroom space was taken from it leaving a dark narrow entrance in to this noisy, hot box where no AC was present and the bed was certainly not a double but a miniature version of it. The dated bathroom wasn't even cleaned properly. Combined with everything, we had an unpleasant stay and would not recommend this property.

Check in was strange, chef at reception that didn't feel professional at doing things. A request for an ice bucket was not arranged for arrival and when it did arrive it was a wine cooler delivered with 6 lumps of ice by a young lady who said "I've been told to bring this". Room was comfortable but very warm, the bathroom was very dated and the shower gels smelt very off. No remote for TV but was sorted quickly. Breakfast was good but buffet wasnt properly topped up enough. Overall it was ok but big room for improvement as elements were clearly lacking the qualities of a 3 star hotel.

Although stairs in an old building are inevitable, there is one point part way along the corridor leading to room 6 whereby the door seems to be opening the wrong way round. It opens to reveal a short spiral stair with the inner or central part as the step. If you are less agile when reaching to step on the wider bit the door behind you closes and pushes you forward. If the door opened from left to right then you can step directing on to the wider part of the stair.
