Really helpful staff. Tom on the front desk was exceptional. The wellness centre was great. Different types of saunas and a lovely pool. Good bikes to hire. Easy to get to city centre on bike. Lovely looking restaurant and bar in hotel. Rooms nice. Good size with lovely bathroom.

Hotel staff, location, and facilities are great. TLDR: Some things could've been better specially considering the price of the stay. I'd most likely come back to this hotel. Things to note prior to booking: Facilities lacking an ice machine. Had to go to the bar to get ice and they could not provide me a bucket of ice. Bar only open until midnight so I couldn't get ice from midnight to whenever they open. Requested more coffee pods at 5am as we had to be at the airport for 8am but there was no room service at that time. Slightly disappointing service hours for a 4-star hotel. The beds are very comfortable, bed holds heat well. I prefer sleeping when it's cold so this was not a plus for me. Just my preference, did not affect the rating of the place. Room thermostat resets once a day back to 21 Celsius. Very annoying when you're jetlagged and trying to sleep then it gets hot all of a sudden. FYI: Does not have NA-style electrical outlets. I thought maybe they'd have the combination-style receptacles due to their clientele. Did not affect my rating of the hotel.

High standard hotel, big room, great bed, good service and a well equipped gym. They also serve an excellent burger at this hotel. The hotel is remotely located, but you get here easily by taking the Metro, line # 52 to Overamstel station situated 300 m from the hotel. This line is however closed for upgrades now in August, so we took # 54 to Spaklerweg instead and walked 12 min (not recommended with suitcases). This was our 2nd stay here. The standard of the hotel outweighs the “remote” location.

Great facilities, lovely staff, good breakfast. Very clean rooms. Dinner menu not to my taste but thats a personal choice, others may like that type of food. The free sauna facilities was fabulous as was the outdoor pool with jacuzzi and jet stream buttons.

Gute Lage in der Nähe einer S-Bahn Station. Schöne Zimmer,(trotz blätternder Deckenfarbe und sanierungsbedürftigem Silikon Fugen) toller Spa, Gym und Schwimmbereich. Frühstück und Essen im Restaurant sehr gut. Leider schlecht war die Bar. Öffnungszeiten immer kürzer als angegeben. 30min vor Schließung musste man schon bezahlen und bekam nur noch etwas zum mitnehmen, wenn man schön bitte bitte gesagt hat.

At first the hotel seemed attractive, but several issues soon became clear. The pool is outdoors, which was not obvious from the photos, so if the weather is bad you are exposed to the elements. The hotel also charges extra for many things, including breakfast which many Amsterdam hotels include, spa access and bathrobes, so the advertised price may not be the whole picture. On my last night I requested a late checkout and was told there was normally a fee but that it had been 'sorted'. The next day as I was about to leave an angry staff member banged on my door, accused me of lying and demanded I go to reception to pay immediately. I understand mistakes can happen, but being treated like a dishonest guest was upsetting. The situation could have been handled far more politely, although she did apply a small discount in the end. Some staff, especially in the bar, were genuinely lovely, so it is a shame that the experience was marred by how I was treated at the end. I have stayed at this chain elsewhere with only positive experiences, but this incident has left me questioning how new guests might be treated.

There are works done in some rooms, so there's noise in the morning. Moreover, the soundproofing is poor, you can hear the TV from other rooms. There was also a lot of dust in the rooms, overnight the phone screen would be covered in dust by the morning.

We hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf bij Van der Valk Amsterdam. De ligging is perfect, 3 minuten vanaf het hotel tot het metro station, vanuit daar is het 12 minuutjes tot het centrum. Personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De inrichting was ook erg net! De kamer was groot en heel erg schoon, met een leuk uitzicht op de Johan Cruyff arena. Over het algemeen een hele mooie, grote, schone en nette kamer met een heerlijk groot bed. Wij zijn erg tevreden!

I think the property is really nice and my only qualm is about the room cleaning. We left the switch on to signal make up my room but returned to the room beds not made up. I spoke with front desk and was informed that if we had any personal belongings on the bed then they won’t make it up, fair enough even though we may have had like just a jeans or a shirt. The next day we were out of bath liquid and our room coffee cups were used. They made the beds, but left us without bath liquid, as well as coffee cups left dirty and not replaced. We were beginning to wonder if the cleaning people had an issue with us. It’s the first time I’ve encountered something like that and found it strange for the standard of the hotel as the hotel itself was really nice and front desk staff very attentive and helpful. Overall a great hotel besides the room cleaning fiasco.

2 nachten verbleven, kamer zeer slecht schoongemaakt.Bed vlug opgemaakt zag er niet uit.Vieze glazen etc alles is blijven staan. Bar is leuk maar wij hadden meerdere keren een brandalarm waarbij de medewerker aangaf dat ze deze zelf hadden uitgezet, toen iemand vroeg of it zomaar kon kwam er als antwoord ja hoor, niet heel veilig lijkt mij.

Room appeared very clean, however the mattress was noticeably quite stained. Beds, including bunks in the kid area were very comfortable. Food was great in restaurant, including great service. Our room was not ready for 3pm check in, however we were provided a beverage in the restaurant to compensate. Very safe neighborhood, not any amenities near by, but easy metro access.

Lovely hotel for visiting Amsterdam. It is great value for money as it is slightly further out but it’s a 10 minute cycle ride to De Pijp and tourist areas. If you are not cycling you will likely need to use public transport to get around the city. The hotel room was immaculate and spacious. We had a huge window and the bathroom facilities were great. Parking was easy - plenty of space and very secure. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was also really quiet on an evening. Would highly recommended and I would book again.

The room was nice, the hotel is a little out of the way but it’s a pretty walk to the nearby metro. The spa was great, and very welcome after a long flight. Note though, the ‘fridge’ in the room is not a fridge! I bought some supplies and put them in there. Only to have my food be warm the next day. I had to throw away my yoghurt and salad. I was told that it was meant to keep temperature, not keep things cold. Apart from that a great stay, friendly staff and a positive experience.

The room was miserably hot and sticky. We hardly slept, having to lay on top of covers for 3 straight nights. Made at least 2 requests to address the AC temp, but nothing they did resulted in a cooler room. Other than that, we enjoyed the property and location. Really close to train station. Nice onsite bar.

The door for the toilet is made of transparent glass. I am not kidding you. If you are sitting on the toilet, everyone in the room will be able to see you. It was extremely embarrassing. This has to be the worst design decision ever taken. Who makes a toilet door transparent?! I cannot even believe it.

I have stayed at this hotel the last 3 times I was in Amsterdam. It is conveniently located near a metro and can access the city easily. The hotel is very clean and has a restaurant and a bar. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The I enjoyed their spa experience the last 3 times I was there and highly recommend this place for your next trip to Amsterdam.

Uma funcinonária sem educação e sem informação alguma esmurrou nossa porta entrou no quarto gritando falando que tinhamos que sair do quarto no dia 1/01/2026 uma vez que ela não tinha visto que tínhamos postergado nossa estadia um dia a mais. A funcionária mal educada começou a gritar falando que éramos loucos e que deveríamos sair do quarto e eu tentando explicar que tínhamos postergado nossa diária e pago para ela ir verificar. Falta de informação completa forma de tratamento para com os hóspedes sempre nos hospedamos no Van Der Valk e nunca tivemos problema. Vou fazer questão de enviar uma carta para a diretoria e fazer de tudo para esta funcionária ser mandada embora um Hotel deste nível não pode ter uma funcionária como esta e tbm vou falar mal em todas os canais de comunicação rede social. Obrigado pela atenção e consideracão

Had a terrible experience on Tuesday morning April 23rd had to get up early to take a taxi to Central station. No staff was seen at the desk. Waited at the desk for a few minutes before a man came ask if we needed anything. He was not friendly or understanding at all. Yes it was very early in the morning but he seemed bothered by my questions with a stand off attitude. I turned to talk to my wife, he disappeared to the back, I went back to try as ask him for assistance again and I heard him suck his teeth from behind the wall. He did not return. Terrible customer service.

A really disappointing stay at a hotel I’ve stayed at several times before and never had issues. Long queue to check in due to there not being enough staff. I informed reception my wife was allergic to feathers and they assured me the room contained no feathers. When we got to the room, two of the four pillows contained feathers as did the cushion on the armchair. We called reception to get them removed and replaced immediately but were just on hold for the minutes before someone hung up! Tried contacting reception via WhatsApp and they got back to us eventually. Someone removed the pillows/cushions and have us one strange pillow to replace them. We asked for another but were told there were no other pillows on the property which was bizarre. Nobody bothered to check on the welfare of my wife who had been exposed to feathers. Robe and slippers no longer provided - have to pay extra to rent those now! Went to the spa and two of the steam rooms weren’t working properly. On checkout the receptionist asked how my stay was to which I replied it was ‘OK’ but she didn’t probe to find out why it wasn’t excellent which seems quite a basic requirement. Overall extremely disappointing/dangerous and we won’t be staying here again.

Gorgeous hotel with a phenomenal breakfast buffet- one of the very best we have experienced. Admittedly the bar could be better, but it’s a decent offering and the restaurant also worked in a pinch to provide a solid 3-4 dining experience. Location is excellent as this hotel is very drivable, yet also right next to the metro station and it only takes 15 minutes to get to downtown Amsterdam.

Das Hotel war wirklich klasse, da gibt es nicht's zu beanstanden. Es lag allerdings doch weiter ausserhalb als wir gedacht haben und befand sich mitten im Industriegebiet. Das Nachtbild am Fluss liess was anderes vermuten. Zu der Zeit als wir da waren ist eine Metrolinie ins Centrum nicht gefahren, deshalb musste man schon mal 30 Minuten warten. Da kann das Hotel natürlich nichts dafür. Die Metro Station war aber gut erreichbar.

Amazing!! The spa is a must, only downside was the workers in illumious jackets out our window it’s not the best view but still lovely! Ordered a drink last night at the bar and it took half an hour to be made there’s like 4 staff on for a full hotel however drinks were amazing and so was our stay! The spa is beautiful.

Admittedly the bar could be better, but it’s a decent offering and the restaurant also worked in a pinch to provide a solid 3-4 dining experience. Location is excellent as this hotel is very drivable, yet also right next to the metro station and it only takes 15 minutes to get to downtown Amsterdam.
