The best thing about Solymar Ivory Suites was the staff and the hospitality. Ahmed Shendy was my go to guy for any issues and questions we had; a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you kind sir. Ahmed assisted us with internet connection issues, currency issues and just general questions and suggestions regarding the surrounding area of Hurghada. There isn't much going on near the surrounding area of Solymar Ivory Suites, in fact dining options are limited as well. Anywhere you wish to go is a bit of a journey; a 10-20 minute car ride depending on traffic. I highly suggest using Uber and tipping them the max... a far better option than arguing and haggling with Taxi drivers that constantly want to rip you off. All our rides cost about $5 at the most!! The Venue itself was great for what we paid. We ended up with a large two bedroom flat. It was a bit too cold to use the swimming pool, but the pool looked clean and well maintained. We had WiFi connectivity issues, web access was choppy, inconsistent and worked half the time. There was some hair under a couple of the beds, not cleaned thoroughly. Everything else was fine and worked as it should. The hot water was HOT! So be careful. Glad to be a VIP member of Expedia, I got my late checkout extended for free, no additional charges. I would easily stay here again.

I had a pleasant stay at Solymar Ivory Suites. Thanks to the receptionist who enquired about my wifi requirements before room allocation. This accommodation offers a good wifi connection despite a technical issue encountered on the first day which was resolved by the staff. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hot water supply was consistent. The check-in and check-out processes were fast. The location is convenient with eateries and marts around. One minor drawback was the bedding which could be improved by providing a proper blanket instead of a white sheet.

It was a day stay only while waiting for plane. Price was reasonable, staff was accommodating, food was good. Internet available only in rooms on the first floor.

The hotel is near restaurants, shops and supermarkets. It is a very clean place and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pool is clean, but only sun until 2 pm.

The location of this Hotel is within a 25 minute walk from the airport. It is a 10 minute walk away from a strip of restaurants and shops/bars. Out the main door turn left then first right continue straight until you reach the strip. The Hotel is an excellent budget hotel in all but one aspect, which for me was the wifi. Room wifi poor at best and lobby wifi not strong enough to support a whatsapp video call, but did support an audio one. The room for a solo traveller was a suite including, kitchenette, lounge hallway, bathroom ,bedroom and two balconies(307). This was spacious, basic and clean. The hotels heatbeat comes from Ahmed on reception who will organise tours for you at a fraction of the Get Your Guide price. Some tours are long in coach travel which was ok by me but not everyones cuppa.He is also helpful in many other aspects. Do not compare this hotel with the luxury brands but if budget is you priority this has excellent value in bucket loads.

Really enjoyed my 8 night stay at Solymar and works definitely stay again. The reception staff are superb. Sherif avd Ahmed gonout of their way to ensure guests are happy and looked after. They organised me a fantasy excursion at short notice, which was not only well organised but superb value. It is obvious the staff really take pride in their work. The hotel is compact however the suites are huge. Mine (110) was huge.. bigger than my apartment in London! Housekeeping are very efficient and the rooms and linen are cleaned/changed frequently. The hotel isn't beachfront but is very close the airport in less touristy part of Hurghada. I really enjoyed the range of ships and eateries nearby, catering for both locals and visitors. I felt safe in the area. Beaches (Dreams Beach/Old Sheraton) are a 5 mib cab ride away. It cost be 50 egp (80p!) each way. The breakfast is wonderful and superb value and I'd highly recommend. omelette cooked to order and a good selection of pastries, cheese, fruit and yogurts. Dinner is also good value and I had it 3 times. It was a bufget with bref/chicken each time.The chefs are wonderful guys. I'm so pleased to have found the Solymar. I didn't want to spend my week at one the big resort hotels, that only cater to north eiropean/russian tourists. The Solymar has a much more mixed crowd. Thank you to everyone who helped me to have such a good holiday. I hope to return.

The sleeping mattress is bad, air-conditioned is very loud and old the fridge is very loud, the elevator was out of order 😑 🙄

We hadden 2 slaapkamers, een woonkamer met een keukentje. We wilden na onze vlucht een goede plek om te slapen om ons dezelfe dag smiddags te melden bij de geplande liveaboard. Prima geslapen en ontbeten (geringe meerprijs), nog even kunnen relaxen bij de pool.

Draperies were a little tired but otherwise the room met my needs at a very reasonable (cheap) price: comfortable bed, clean, quiet, helpful staff, and a refreshing pool.

Very spacious apartment type accommodation and very helpful staff. There is a building site outside and the bathroom soap dispenser needed filling.

Clean and spacious Extreme value for money Flat was cleaned every day

Eerst kreeg ik een kamer aangewezen en die vond ik wel echt vies helaas. Daarna kreeg ik een andere kamer en die vond ik fijner. Nog steeds zijn er bepaalde punten qua schoonmaak dat wel beter mag zoals de ramen van het balkon en lampenkappen mogen wel eens gewassen worden. Het water in de douche liep niet goed weg door het putje. Ik kreeg wel een trechter om het water goed weg te laten lopen dat was wel fijn maar het blijft glad en dus ook gevaarlijk voor misschien oudere mensen. De douche was bij de kraan kapot en deze moest gemaakt worden. In de avond zijn er heel veel honden in het gras die vaak blaffen naar voorbijgangers. Ik begrijp dat er weinig aan gedaan kan worden maar soms is het wel hinderlijk om te slapen vooral als voorbijgangers nog extra gaan lopen waar de honden slapen door het gras om ze uit te dagen vond dat de beveiliging buiten daar wel wat van had kunnen zeggen. Ik ben van mening dat als dat beter zou zijn er naar mijn gevoel meer mensen zouden komen. De bedden lagen super! Vond het heel fijn en ik heb merendeels heerlijk geslapen. Ondanks de verbeter punten ben ik toch bijna twee weken in solymar gebleven omdat ik toch een huiselijk gevoel had en het fijn vond. Het personeel is echt super lief en vriendelijk. Het personeel maakt solymar fijn om te verblijven. Ze staan altijd voor je klaar en groeten je netjes en helpen je met alles. Het zwembad vond ik ook fijn en overal in het hotel lekker rustig. Kom zeker terug!

The room size was fantastic—easily the best part of the stay and a very nice surprise. Plenty of space to spread out! Unfortunately, the hotel itself is starting to look very dated. It's clear that it needs a maintenance overhaul. Think scuffed paint, loose fittings, and general wear and tear. Great potential here, but a refresh is sorely needed and furniture smells bad.

I stay here regularly for a night or two several times a year. Lovely clean apartments, a little tired in places but spacious and comfortable and the staff are very pleasant. Excellent value for money.

Excellent Price and Excellent Room Space.

I have stayed here 4 times over the last two years. Its close to the airport and convenient for late flights. Im diabetic and this hotel is perfect as it includes a fridge for my insulin. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. The staff are super helpful. We have stayed in several other hotels in Hurghada and my sons chooses this one as his favourite. We often go for a walk and have always felt safe in the area. We always eat either room service or the restaurant and the food is good. The hotel has organised a taxi to the airport for me.

Very cheap and very close to the airport. The apartments were ridicuously large. It's perfect place to stay for a night or 2 if you are arriving in or leaving Egypt. I would stay again.

We didnt have breakfast as we used this hotel as a place to stay in our way back from Luxor, only until our flight was due as it is very close to the airport. Otherwise we would have been at the airport for 11 hours. We did have a very good reasonably pruced dinner there and the service was excellent.

The staff were fantastic. The manager Joshep went a long way out of his way to help me, when the airline lost my suitcase for 10 hours. The reception staff could not have done more. I was only staying one night, but felt like a very valued customer.

I was a bit concerned to book this hotel as I am a women traveling alone. I read the reviews on Expedia and the location was perfect for a 1am flight. To my surprise it was a lovely place to stay a night. Staff were excellent . Highly recommend for a night by the airport

Excelente staff

The hotel was okay at its most, I didn’t expect much for the price. However I’m pretty mad that they charged me for “taking” something from the mini bar. Recommendation: If you buy a beverage at any store outside, throw your garbage someplace else, because their whole basis for charging me was because they found a bottle that apparently was the same brand as the one in fridge. It was only 40 EGP, but still I don’t like my integrity questioned, much less from a person who can’t even check an inventory. Location was okay and near the airport, however not even that will make me change my mind as the WORST hotel I’ve stayed at.

The hotel was definitely older but the staff was friendly and it had everything you need. Can’t beat the price for a 2 bedroom apartment for the night. Close to nice resorts and there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Really close to the airport which was what we were looking for.

The hotel is great for people looking for a hotel, which is quiet and not frequented so many tourists from Europe or America But European and American tourists are often looking to connect with other tourists from the west. At this hotel, you will have a problem with that. Although it is clean and clearly a four star hotel, it was not frequented by tourists from the above mentioned continents. Most of the guests were so called locals, who all spoke arabic and communicated with the personnel in their native language. The hotel personnel spoke good English but there were few people to speak English to. My son and I enjoyed the hotel. Even though the location wasn't so good, you could get to the city by taxi for just a few Euros. You could also get to the beach by taxi. The hotel has a small pool to help cool you down during the day or evening. If something didn't work properly in your room, within one day, they repaired everything. It will be fascinating to see, if they are able to attract more tourists from European countries. Their buffet in the evening was great. When they had ale cart because they were few guests in the hotel, then most of the food was served without any sauce to help digest the rice or meat. If you are interested in a typical European breakfast, this is the wrong place. You won't find the foods you are accustomed to. I like the hotel and the personnel, but the hotel is missing European or American Tourists.
