The room was clean, we stayed in the suite. Spacious good parking. Great for the place we will stay here again in our future trips.

Absolutely loved this hotel and I’m a hotel snob. It was like a row of little chalets. Spotlessly clean inside and a lovely spacious room. Ice machine was right outside our front. Free parking and close to a few fast food restaurants. About a mile away from Monterey Harbour. I will def stay here again if I’m in the area. Loved it!!

Simple exterior with surprisingly newer interior floors, furniture and decor. Tight parking for larger pickups and service vehicles.

This is my go to location when I stay in the Monterey area, which I do frequently. Great pricing, easy parking, excellent location, and the room is perfect: comfortable bed, good shower, good AC, which are the 3 things I look for in a motel.

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Disney, and really couldn't knock it for the price. Location was within walking distance of Disney (approximately a 15 minutes brisk walk). Car parking was spacious and free, which was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. You could even see the Disney fireworks going off towards the back of the hotel. Whilst the hotel is located off a busy road, the rooms are far enough away from the road so that you are not disturbed by the road noise. Check in was quick, simple and hassle-free. The receptionist even gave us an extra hour to check out slightly later than the advertised time. Room was very spacious and also clean. Toiletries (although limited) were restocked daily with the housekeeping. Bed comfortable enough, large sink area outside of the bathroom, and a decent sized fridge. Air con worked well, but as with most motels/hotels like this, it was a little noisy. Typical of the style of air con unit they fit, but it was efficient at cooling the room. Only minor criticism was that there was no safe in the room, but thats also not unusual either. Definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Disney, as it's close enough to walk there, but far enough away from all of the hustle and bustle around the parks to ensure you have a good night's sleep.

Room was clean and seemed to be somewhat updated, though not for comfort. All surfaces were pretty uncomfortable. The room did have a smell. Walls are very thin; we could hear neighbors singing and talking. Parking is limited and fairly compact. Check-in process was quick and smooth.

Terrible customer service, there was bed bugs, and overall the room was dusty and looked hardly cleaned.

They were very friendly and overall the room was clean. The only issue I had was the towles did not look clean and they were rough and the pillows were very flat. I had to go buy pillows so I could sleep comfortably. I would stay again but I hope they get better towels and pillows.

I got itchy all night & woke up with insect bites

The negative...Incredible cleaning agent stink, and after having the windows open long enough, a slight old smoke smell emerged. My clothes smelled of the room a day later, out of the suitcase. Towels aged and yellowish. Need replacement. The positive...Bed linens were ironed and smelled neutral, and bed was comfortable. Found an extra king size blanket on the hat rack, which helped with keeping warm. Heating was wfectice and fast and not too loud. Lots of TV progam choices. Nicely upgraded interior. Especially happy about wood floor and nice wooden ceiling.

Convenient location. Not very friendly staff. The room was not clean, there was a lot of dust on the furniture, dirty sheets, also pillows and sheet cover were covered with hair. It was disgusting

We had a great stay! It felt like the room was new. Everything was spotless clean and in excellent condition. Very spacious room with very high ceiling! Spacious bathroom too! Hot water right away. Comfy bed.

Overall the property was nice. Beds where rock hard and very uncomfortable. Wall are super thin and you hear everything.

Everything was great except there was a small exposed electrical square box with wires under the tv. We had to be extra careful not to let our 20 month old go near it. The pillows were weird half pillows so that was disappointing. If they’re going to be half at least give us more to equal 2 whole pillows instead of the size of 1.5 real pillows. The bed was mediocre. Other than that the room was very clean and beautiful. The ceiling had exposed wood beams which was beautiful.

stay was great clean and newly remodeled, comfortable bed. the only issue was the television coyldnt get rid of the close captioning and quite small tv, but ither than that it was very nice, will rent again.

This was an amazing place! I stayed here with my husband during the 4th of July weekend and they were very kind and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and smelled amazing, housekeeping was amazing and very nice!! I would absolutely recommend staying here.

DO NOT STAY HERE -only gave us one key. When we asked for another, they said no, (these were plastic printed keycards). -refused to give extra towels -absurdly tiny TV and a horribly -outdated bathroom with a wobbly toilet that needed to be flushed 3-4 times -The bathtub was stained and dirty with an old dirty rubber grip mat for laying on the bottom of the tub. -weird metal barrier around bottom of bed that made a loud clang every time you touched it. -dirty tile floors made our feet black -when my stepson performing at Cali Roots stopped by to take shower before gig, manager knocked on door three separate times over 30 minute time period. Falsely accused of staying there. -when asked again for another set of towels the unhinged manager told us to ‘get the f*** out’ -we demanded a refund for the remaining night - We returned to shower and pack up before check out. -manager barged into room without knocking while my wife was naked getting out of the shower. -after throwing him out of the room he demanded to do a room inspection. -he became so irate and hostile he was yelling at the top of his lungs. All the guests came out of their rooms. Everyone was nervous and on edge. -we almost called the police on him. Was worried he was going to turn violent or get a gun -DO NOT STAY AT Discovery Inn. We left there traumatized by the whole experience. The people that run it are shady, rude, unprofessional and downright hostile. I wish I could give zero stars

Awesome place to stay. They helped me with my late check in and got me right to my room. This is my new go to room in that area.

The biggest problem I had was people sitting outside their room smoking pot every single day we couldn’t open the windows or do anything without the room smelling like weed. Second thing if check out at 10 o’clock, why would a male attendant come into the room and walk into the bathroom with a girl getting ready for the day and they’re asking are you gonna check out at 10? Totally unacceptable.

Always a convenient and well-priced option, just a five minute drive to downtown Monterey. Property is currently being renovated so things are looking a little more updated.

My husband said the location was amazing, many close dining areas. He was able to walk to Burger King to pick up a rodeo burger with ease. The only thing was the bed, a little hard but other than that great and clean stay!

The Discovery Inn was a very good value. It's well kept-up, comfortable, and right next door to a wonderful breakfast place.
