They charged a 100 deposit for the night. They did not say anything about this online when booking. They guy at the front desk was very helpful and willing to work with us. Our room was very small bathroom was as well. Our room was on the second floor there was no elevator for a disabled person. The railing at the top of the stairs was falling off was not secured at all. There breakfast was not the best. The waffle maker did not cook all the way threw. They told us if we wanted the gym or pool that it was another 15 dollar charge person and that it was not on the property had to go across the street. We will not be staying here again.

You get what you pay for. Thankfully we only need a place to sleep and get ready in the morning for our day, we didn’t spend much time in our room. Older hotel, needs loads of updates. Hair dryer cracked and doesn’t sound right, needs to be replaced. Bath towels are small kids size, they need to upgrade the bath towels to adult full size. No elevator. Host was very nice. Breakfast was nothing special, recommend to out for a good hot breakfast if that’s what you’re looking for.

Had contractors staying at the property hard to park as all there trucks we taking up the spaces tearing the planters apart and grass area plus Saturday night 2am - 3 am bunch coming in the place loud and drunk.

The property is old but the room was clean. The hall ways were disgusting and stairs were filthy. The front desk to check in had bullet proof glass with a small slot under to hand things. I did not feel safe at this location.

Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Need new carpeting, felt very mushy, like the floor is rotted underneath. Breakfast was good but only 2 tables for people to eat. Had to go back to the room to eat our breakfast.

Starting with a very professional and friendly check-in to a totally pleasant accessible room (104), my wife and I found our stay an enjoyable departure from our regular Super 8 stays. The property is smaller than most, but affords a view of a lake from our window across a wide park-like area, with a covered cookout area that I assume is for guests. The town, Chisago City, Minnesota, has some of the friendliest and courteous citizens we have ever experienced. It is an outdoor and lake destination for sports and a variety of lake recreation. I recommend it for value and price point.

Smelled of mildew and the carpet left our socks black with dirt. All 5 soap (hand,shampoo,conditioner, etc) were empty upon check in. Towels had stains. Outside of the building is so run down and looked nothing like the photos posted online.

There was blood pn the ac unit. Sand and hair in jet tub. Jetted tub didnt wirk. No sound on the tv wouldnt work. Bed not made. Gross nasfy stains on the chairs. Looked like had been usrd for a sex party then left uncleaned. Bmy husband and i left after out dinner out. We wouldnt stay there. Im very unhappy and took pocture

I checked in and found our room to be dirty. Surfaces had not been cleaned after the previous guests and many areas had not been dusted or cleaned in a long time. The bed sheets were inside out and there was hair on the counters. I asked for a refund and was not given one nor was I offered a different room. Very disappointed.

Dirty room, debris on the floor in bathroom like it wasn't swept. Sink wasn't clean and faucet had smudges all over it like it wasn't cleaned properly. No waste basket in our room. Door knob to bathroom was loose and starting to fall out of door. Faucet was loose as well. Towel rail falling out of wall and did fall off twice while putting towel back on. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in shower were empty. We were the first ones to breakfast at 6:30- it wasn't stocked at all. We took the only 3 plates and forks that were there and couldn't find anymore for our party of 5, nor was there anyone to ask. The coffee was like tar, the juice machine didn't work, the waffle batter produced a bitter waffle (didn't know waffles could taste bitter) because I'm sure the batter was old and expired. We ended up going elsewhere for breakfast. Basically, not much to brag home about. Find a nicer hotel that staffs appropriately, cleans, up keeps, and fully stocks what you are paying for.

Bed was comfortable. Carpet waa very dirty, bathroom door would not close, hair dryer fell off the wall, tv would not work, poorly completed and messy contract work, dirty breakfast area with limited items, fron t entrance was not welcoming and dirty.

The outside grounds were inviting and staff were friendly! The bed was comfy, but the cleanliness of the room was very disappointing, despite the overpowering smell of cleaners. Under/near the bed was littered with food debris, wrappers, and miscellaneous clutter/dust. Towels were stained, and thin. The ice bucket lacked a lid and was cracked. Flushing the toilet required opening the tank each time. The room needs a thorough cleaning and requires attention from maintenance.

The reviews and pictures were great so we booked this place for 2 nights but left after 8 hours. We didnt feel threatened but the security latch was inoperable and the lock on the door had been altered. The room was not clean and neither was the office chair or fridge. We kept our luggage in the bath tub. The shower bar was falling down with the exhaust fan dangling from the ceiling. Willingly forfeited the money from the second night reservation and went somewhere else.

Front desk man was great!! Very responsive. Coffee/breakfast set up was convenient & nice for a motel. Cons: Bathroom door did not completely close. TV's sound would continuously go loud then low - a bit annoying. To be fair we didn't ask the front desk to fix it. We had no time for this.

The hotel is in a great location near all of the stores, restaurants and bars. The room was perfect for what I needed and the bed was super comfortable. I travel frequently and the bed was one of best I have ever slept in. Less than a minute and I was fast asleep.Thank you Super 8!

This property was in complete disrepair. The outside was dirty, the stucco was falling off, and you could clearly see where the top and bottom floor met due to large cracks. The front lobby was tiny, disorganized and filthy. I asked to see our room prior to checking in and was denied and told we'd be happy. After checking in, we went up to our second-floor room. Several of the doors to the rooms had large gaps around them including our room. Our room had the security lock busted clear off and there were keyhole accesses from outside the room. The air conditioner had fallen partially out of the wall and you could see clear through to the outside. We said we did not feel safe staying there and were refused a refund on our two-night stay. They told me to contact expedia, which i did, and was told there is nothing they could do as we were beyond the cancellation time. I was offered a $25 coupon by expedia. Totally unacceptable.

No front desk attendant; had to call on phone. Room smelled like bleach. Room carpet felt wet the whole stay. General overall griminess. Sheets didn’t fit the bed properly. Even though a Super 8, we went ahead with the booking because of the Wyndham name. Definitely not worthy of the Wyndham name.

Check-in on Expedia says 2:00. Needed to check in at 2:00 due to a wedding, that was the main reason for booking this property. Upon arrival, employee says check in is 3:00, that’s what the sign says, didn’t care about Expedia. Offered to let us check in at 2:00 for $15. The room had a broken lock, stained furniture, blood or feces smeared on the wall, soap and lotion dispensers fell off the wall, not vacuumed, drips running down walls of room and bathroom. Very unprofessional staff and horrible experience. Worst ever, actually. Advise if need pictures.

This property was in complete disrepair. The outside was dirty, the stucco was falling off, and you could clearly see where the top and bottom floor met due to large cracks. The front lobby was tiny, disorganized and filthy. I asked to see our room prior to checking in and was denied and told we'd be happy. After checking in, we went up to our second-floor room. Several of the doors to the rooms had large gaps around them including our room. Our room had the security lock busted clear off and there were keyhole accesses from outside the room. The air conditioner had fallen partially out of the wall and you could see clear through to the outside. We said we did not feel safe staying there and were refused a refund on our two-night stay. They told me to contact expedia, which i did, and was told there is nothing they could do as we were beyond the cancellation time. I was offered a $25 coupon by expedia. Totally unacceptable.

Bathroom walls were dirty with brown streaks running down. The phone was dirty and full of dust etc. The breakfast area wasn’t overly clean. The bread I toasted was stale. The peanut butter had to be old and oil poured out when I opened it. It was gross! There was an incident during check in. An African American man, who was in the lobby when we arrived, came and stood right next to me as I approached the window to check in. He mumbled about wanting to pay for mine and my girlfriends room. I declined numerous times and he kept standing there. It was my feeling that the employee could have asked him to step back while I checked in. Instead she asked me to fill out my license plate number, which he saw and then handed me our key and said the room number out loud! So now he knew what car was mine and what room we were in! Terrible security for a guest! We were afraid and barricaded the door with chairs and the security lock! We were told later that the man was removed from the property and that this doesn’t happen in this hotel or town. We were promised a small discount rebate on the room rate, to be credited to my account. It was a good gesture but I would rather have had my privacy respected and a more secure check in.

I will start with the positives. The staff was friendly at check in, and helping us when we could not find the TV remote. The hotel was easy to find, and close to gas stations, and the hwy. The negatives, the room desperately needed a deep clean. Dust was caked on in places, and dead bugs in the light fixture. Fresh paint that matches the walls would help to liven up the room. The property itself needs improvement as well. If you need a place to just sleep, this is it. But definitely would be a beauty with just a few simple touches.

Starting with a very professional and friendly check-in to a totally pleasant accessible room (104), my wife and I found our stay an enjoyable departure from our regular Super 8 stays. The property is smaller than most, but affords a view of a lake from our window across a wide park-like area, with a covered cookout area that I assume is for guests. The town, Chisago City, Minnesota, has some of the friendliest and courteous citizens we have ever experienced. It is an outdoor and lake destination for sports and a variety of lake recreation. I recommend it for value and price point.

The hotel is in a great location near all of the stores, restaurants and bars. The room was perfect for what I needed and the bed was super comfortable. I travel frequently and the bed was one of best I have ever slept in. Less than a minute and I was fast asleep.Thank you Super 8!

Dirty room, debris on the floor in bathroom like it wasn't swept. Sink wasn't clean and faucet had smudges all over it like it wasn't cleaned properly. No waste basket in our room. Door knob to bathroom was loose and starting to fall out of door. Faucet was loose as well. Towel rail falling out of wall and did fall off twice while putting towel back on. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers in shower were empty. We were the first ones to breakfast at 6:30- it wasn't stocked at all. We took the only 3 plates and forks that were there and couldn't find anymore for our party of 5, nor was there anyone to ask. The coffee was like tar, the juice machine didn't work, the waffle batter produced a bitter waffle (didn't know waffles could taste bitter) because I'm sure the batter was old and expired. We ended up going elsewhere for breakfast. Basically, not much to brag home about. Find a nicer hotel that staffs appropriately, cleans, up keeps, and fully stocks what you are paying for.

Front desk man was great!! Very responsive. Coffee/breakfast set up was convenient & nice for a motel. Cons: Bathroom door did not completely close. TV's sound would continuously go loud then low - a bit annoying. To be fair we didn't ask the front desk to fix it. We had no time for this.

This Super 8 was wonderful! Rick and Joy at the front desk were such a delight in their accommodating me on my stay. The room was clean and comfortable and most of all quiet. The breakfast was good too and the view gorgeous. Highly recommend!

The room I had was clean, perhaps a little outdated. The staff was nice. The main problem is I was charged $50. more than Expedia quoted me and I did not find that out until I was home. I'd like to know why. P.S.: The coffee in the gathering area was probably the worst I've ever had, sorry but true and I like my coffee!
