Esplendor by Wyndham Isla Mujeres Boutique All Inclusive

Clean, the swimming pools are amazing, the food is good, the variety of drinks is excellent. The staff is the best, always looking to help with any needs - they can arraigned transportation for you- rent a golf car from them the price is better that outside of the hotel.

This property was NOTHING like it was advertised. The hotel is understaffed- LONG wait times for drinks and food. The food and drinks never came as ordered. The only restaurant on site was HOT- no central air. Guest were allowed to smoke while dinning at the restaurant. The restaurant and bars were understocked… “that’s not available.” The rooftop pool was DIRTY! Hotel Beló allows locals and travelers to get day passes and they use that pool as a community bathroom… and you can’t use the pool downstairs because the kids rule the roost- cannonballing and yelling making for a not so relaxing time. The access to the water is limited and not anything you can enjoy- not as advertised! The gym was incredible for a hotel and the room was nice.

Food was great! Roof top pool & bar FANTASTIC! Staff was attentive. Housekeeping didn’t replenish toiletries or coffee during our stay, but room was tidy & clean towels were provided. Pro tip: we normally rent a golf cart, but opted to use taxi to/from town square and it was SO cheap - much less than the expense of cart rental. The taxis run 24/7.

The staff worked so hard to ensure our family had everything we'd like during our vacation. The restaurant offered excellent food and service (shout out to Arnulfo and Hugo.) The snack bar also had delicious options. The beach was clean, however the ocean was difficult to walk in, due to the wave breaks placed in the water. The shape of the ground level pool doesn't make you feel like you're sharing a pool with a bunch of other people. The roof top pool offers a beautiful view of the ocean. We splurged and got 2 massages during our stay. The massages are given on a hut on the beach. The therapists were friendly and gave stellar service. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The downside: The,beach is not the best And if they run out of power, their generator is not big enough that you can get a/c ( it can get really hot), or not even make the TV work if you're higher than the 2nd floor. The staff was very pleasant, specially Mateo. Pool was good. Food was okay. Beach front not so good. Roof top terrace was under renovations.

Hot tubs dirty and not functioning!

Very nice hotel indeed with a fantastic setting by the water. Could not have been more welcoming and helpfull. The Staff were excellent and food was very good.

Loved all of it! Delicious food options! Beautiful beach area, clean and cold rooms! Small boutique hotel but had everything we needed! Family oriented. Beautiful views from the Skybar! Pool area was great! Plenty of Bali beds! Great staff! Only thing I would request is that the Skybar stay open past 8 pm for adults to have an area to hang out late, with open bar and music. Since late night entertainment is not available , I think leaving the Skybar open a bit longer maybe even till 11 pm would be beneficial to the adult guests.

Everything about our stay was great! The service, cleanliness, room quality, amenities, food & drinks, were all better than expected. Upon check-in, we were greeted by Mateo who served us a welcome drink, carried our bags to the room, showed us around the property and continued to check in with us throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable. He also brought us a complimentary bottle of champagne, which was a nice touch! Everyone spoke great English, which was helpful with our lack of Spanish understanding! All around great place & highly recommended!

We liked some things about this property, and stayed 10 days. The food was pretty good, although we noticed there is not much Mexican cuisine offered, but that is true throughout Isla. For the first few days, the hotel was maybe half full, but still the service was subpar,(altho there were a couple staff who are great) but not enough staff. We learned that students are working co-op in the hotel with little to no English skills. It's difficult to communicate with staff unless you are fluent in Spanish. The bar/restaurant onsite ran out of wine (yes, all wine) on several days, also beer on a couple occasions. The food menu at the lunch/snack bar was good, but they ran out of some things here also. Room service was a fiasco. The Top (rooftop pool/bar) was deserted most of the time, often no bartender! The TOP pool area looked neglected, hot tub leaking, cups and beer bottles around, etc, The main pool was clean and beautiful but cold! The "hot tubs" were not running most of the time, and when any of them were running, they were lukewarm. This was a feature of the hotel we were looking forward to, so it was a letdown. The music was good here and there, but often it was techno "music" blasted too loud around the pool, in competition with music coming from Playa Tiburon next door. For an all inclusive, we didn't feel we got a good deal. The staff was often confused as to what liquor was/wasn't included in the ALL INCLUSIVE.

Mateo is the most amazing guy!!! Staff was awesome and so accommodating. Food was decent. Grounds were spotless and so beautiful.

A beautiful and relaxing spot. Great staff, good food and drinks. Not too big nor crowded. Always able to get a good spot at the pool. Very clean. Would definitely return.

The property isn’t being kept up with

The hotel was absolutely beautiful inside and out, impeccably clean, manicured, and very friendly helpful staff. The food was excellent. Everything we had was fantastic. Downside: 1. Our room had the door kicked in at some point and it was screwed back together badly with no metal plates for the lock or door handle to go into. Rm 216 2. The bathrooms have no doors. Toilet area does, but there's no privacy whatsoever. Some people have kids or roomemates and have no place to change or shower with any privacy. 3. The beach front was disappointing. There is a weird built up burm and where that was smelled terrible. There was really no beach area to speak of. The hotel next to us did. 4. It's a long way from the town center. You have to taxi back and forth, $10 each way, or rent a $120 a day golf cart. Can't walk there at all. If I go back, I'd probably pick a place closer to town.

Hot tubs dirty and not functioning!

The property features beautiful rooms, a pristine environment, and friendly staff, particularly Cassandra and the bellboy whose name I can’t recall. The air conditioning is cool, and there’s plenty of space to relax by the pool.

Hotel Belo is an absolute gem, we stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every second. The staff are all amazing, very helpful and friendly. Special shout outs to Hugo, Gerardo (Gerry), and Toni. They made us feel like we were at home with our friends. The rooms and overall property were very clean with a nice modern but rustic style. We enjoyed the location as it was away from the hectic touristy area around Playa Norte. The island is very small and with the rented golf cart we can be anywhere we need within 10 mins. The only thing I can think that could be better is the water out front is not the best for swimming, but for the price you cant go wrong with Hotel Belo! We will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone who made it such a special trip!

This hotel design was impressive! The rooms were huge with air conditioning, good bathrooms, showers, kitchen, (we stayed in the first floor beachfront). Bed and sheets were very comfortable. Staff is great super helpful and I really enjoyed when Arnulfo was our waiter. Few things to consider, if you want only to use the pool at the hotel and you don’t care about the beach, this hotel is great. The beach is dirty, small and there is no way to swim, since there is a huge bag of sand right where the swings are. Food is good, the menu is the same daily but the food changes because they run out of ingredients. Whenever they had the right ingredients food was good, but there is no fruit offered, no pastries and there is no convenience store in the hotel. There is no activities for kids other than the pool. Next door to the hotel is a port used as a lunch stop where people come and go to a restaurant and there is a bunch of people around. I didn’t liked that. The location of the hotel is good, but since I wanted to use the beach, it didn’t worked out for us. Another thing to point out is that when you don’t speak Spanish all the people that offer services are extremely expensive. For example the taxis. Be careful and haggle for a better price otherwise they will rip you off.

Nice property but no entertainment and really no beach. Limited dining. Rooms were great! But we didn’t spend time inside. Small kids or honeymooners- great place. Want some fun, find a property with more action

Overall, we had a great stay at the Hotel Belo! Couple minor room glitches up front we had to address a few times, but eventually got it settled. Will say try to avoid getting an adjoining room as you can hear everything going on in the room next to you. But the staff was great and the overall hotel experience was great! We were there on a quiet week so we got to know most of the staff very well and they took great care of us. If you want a "real beach" go to Playa Norte on the north end of the island. The hotel beach is very small and the water is essentially unswimmable there, but if you just want a quiet beach setting to relax on, it's totally fine.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The roof top bar has an amazing view & is a fun place to have some drinks. The ground level pool is nice too. We had an ocean view room with a XL king size bed which was great. The warm water pressure lacked & would get scalding hot and then cold with just a little push of the handle. There’s really only 1 restaurant on site & when the restaurant is closed they have a snack bar but very limited options on what to eat. It can get noisy at times due to the traffic and you can hear the housekeepers and other guest rolling their carts & luggage.

Hotel Belo staff were amazing! The dining options, however, got old very quickly as they were limited. I would highly recommend breakfast only and eating at the property only one or two nights. Hotel Belo has ok dining. They lack consistency in creating the dishes but it was never bad food. What Belo lacked in dining options they made up for in quality of staff and service. Belo had a very quiet location compared to the party area on Playa Norte with plenty of transportation options and a few other areas to explore at neighboring resorts and beach clubs. Fernando, Luis, Matteo, and Hugo did not disappoint with their great service. The rooms were clean, the drinks were good, the people were interesting, the atmosphere was quiet, and the views of sunset were spectacular. One thing that Belo exceeds other properties on is the fact that you do not have to wake up early to get a spot in the shade either on the beach or by the pool. Plenty of sun and shade to relax in while enjoying your tranquil vacation at Hotel Belo. Thanks Hotel Belo staff for an amazing first trip to Isla Mujeres!

The property was clean and all of the wait staff were fantastic. There isn’t much of a beach and you can’t really swim by the hotel. We had a water leak in the ceiling of our bathroom that was dripping. I was a little disappointed we weren’t offered a different room (Mateo told us only 9 rooms in the hotel were booked so there were empty rooms). We only had one day left so I didn’t make it a big deal. Also, there is no door on the shower area of the bathroom. Fine if traveling with a significant other but could be weird with friends. The toilet area does have a door. We loved the iguana that lives by the pool and the two kitties that hang out in the beach.

LOVED this gorgeous property! The resort is very aesthetically pleasing. Rooms were spacious & beautiful with a lovely balcony. Two pools which were nearly empty other than us swimming the majority of the time. We enjoyed the restaurants offered. The beach isn’t the best on the island but it’s nice and the day beds and loungers are a nice option! Check in was a breeze and the service was great! We especially enjoyed Hugo & Arnulfo. They made our experience fun and enjoyable. The food is good and cooked to order. Room service is a great option as well. We were able to plan excursions right from the hotel. Can’t wait to return.

The staff was amazing. Mateo went out of his way to be sure we were taken care of. The dining servers, bartenders, housekeeping staff, and facilities were all friendly and attentive.

Francamente decepcionado. Nos fuimos de escapada de fin de semana y por ser vip access pero cuando llegamos nadie sabía lo que eso significaba, para cualquier cosa debían "confirmar", de último momento el recepcionista Javier cambió la habitación a una con PEOR vista y ni siquiera se tomaron la molestia de llevar la botella a la habitación sino hasta q pregunté. Tampoco había agua caliente y tuvimos que llamar para q lo solucionaran, en las albercas y skybar el mesero simplemente te ignoraba, pasaba junto a tí y no te preguntaba si deseabas algo y tenías que hablarle y aún así nunca llevó la bebida. Se dice mucho del servicio de este hotel y la verdad NO es bueno, solamente el bellboy hace su labor para amenizar la estancia. La comida fue buena pero el hotel falla en muchos detalles, no volvería.

The staff was great and pleasant ! The receptionists were very helpful and answered all our questions. The room was clean and bright, and the room service was always on time. Food was delicious and testy . Will recommend to our friends ! Thank you so much from my daughter Victoria and myself .

We had a terrible experience at Hotel Belo. The food was subpar. There was a last minute wedding that took over the entire hotel and we were unable to use any amenities - the beach, restaurant and sky bar were all closed for them. There was no communication from management to us about this and management refused to speak with us about our concerns. One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had in any hotel or resort. We were constantly locked out of our room and could not get anyone to come to the room to help. Half of the elevators didn’t work. Hot tubs were cold. Absolutely do not recommend.

We had an amazing stay at hotel Belo. It’s a smaller hotel and the atmosphere is amazing. Staff was GREAT. Mateo always greeted us with a smile, Alberto recommended a whale shark tour that was unforgettable and Hugo and other restaurant staff went above and beyond to provide excellent service. Hotel has an option to rent a golf cart which is very convenient. Thank you for an epic vacation, we enjoyed it.

Very poor management.

As soon as we arrived and until the day we left the staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. During our visit it was fairly empty because of the vacation low season but they still had all the amenities available and they were never hesitated to provide excellent service. Would highly recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to stay with them again when we get the opportunity to visit the island in the future.

Treated us horribly. A wedding was there, they gave the entire resort to that wedding group. only offered us room service. the staff would close everything down at 11:00 and refuse service but for them, they stayed and played loud music until 3 am. Those guests ran up and down the hallways screaming and hollering. the staff did NOTHING but threaten to call the police when we asked to turn the music down, we had 7 am flights. It was a nightmare and my group and I will never stay here again.

El hotel está bien, nada espectacular. Nos tocó temporada de sargazo, así que la playa no se veía muy linda, aunque eso es entendible. Lo que realmente vale la pena es la comida, que estuvo deliciosa, y el servicio en el restaurante fue excelente, muy amables todos. El problema vino con el servicio en recepción. Al llegar, no había luz y el hotel no contaba con planta eléctrica, lo cual sorprende en un destino así. El aire acondicionado de las áreas comunes no funcionaba, y aunque eso no fue lo más grave, lo que realmente incomodó fue la actitud del recepcionista, una persona llamada Franscivo. En lugar de ofrecernos una disculpa o explicarnos con amabilidad, empezó a gritar, diciendo que era culpa de la isla, que él no podía hacer nada y que “era así”. Muy grosero y poco profesional. Además, solicitamos un cambio de habitación (upgrade), dispuestos a pagar la diferencia, pero nos dijo que no se podía porque el hotel estaba lleno. Más tarde supimos que sí había habitaciones disponibles. En resumen, lo mejor del hotel fue la comida y el servicio del restaurante. Pero la atención en recepción, especialmente la actitud del personal, deja mucho que desear.

Great customer service from Mateo when we arrived and all through our stay. Alberto in the dining was spectacular as well and Arnold and Hugo. Clean, quiet and great service.

This resort is prefect. It’s in a great location that’s not over crowded but close. We reneged a golf cart and was able to get up and go each morning with no issues of traffic or anything. Highly recommend. The staff was amazing and friendly.

The hotel is on the quieter south side of the island, offering a peaceful escape from the busy downtown and ferry terminal. It’s a charming boutique property with a large main pool, a rooftop pool, and a calm nearby beach, though not ideal for swimming compared to North Beach. Restaurant options are limited, but the staff is attentive and professional. We had two spacious connecting rooms, each with a super king-sized bed (two full beds combined). Overall, a great choice for a quiet, relaxing stay.

This property is not your normal all inclusive, it is small and that made it very quiet. We never had to go down early to get a chair at the pool or the beach. This was the most comfortable bed I have ever had in Mexico, normally it's like sleeping on cement. The location is not close to the main centre so if you want to go to town you would need to take a taxi or rent a golf cart. There is a golf cart rental less than a block away from the hotel. My only issue is the "rules" state that you must not have bathing suits or muscle shirts in the restaurant, which is completely appropriate, it's a nice restaurant. However, there is no place to get a drink, but the restaurant. The swim up bar needs to be open the same hours as the pool hours. If you are at an all-inclusive you don't want to wait until 12:00 to get a drink. You can get a drink in the restaurant but need to go from the pool into the restaurant. They do have staff that come around the pool to bring you drinks but they also start later. There is only one restaurant, and it is good food, however for a week stay you get tired of the same choices. Fransisco, Jaro and Juan Carlos are excellent waiters, very friendly and accommodating. Barbara at the front desk is very friendly. Best WIFI we have had travelling. Overall, I would recommend this property.

The neighbouring Ice Bar is extremely loud all day long. Would not recommend if you want to relax.

The staff at Belo are so friendly and helpful! From the cleaning staff to the restaurant to the grounds and front desk! Everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. I see some complaints about the restaurant having slow service but remember, this is not a huge all inclusive with a huge buffet sitting there who knows how long. The food is cooked to order and worth the wait. We will definitely be visiting again!

The food/ alcoholic drinks were poor. Showers had Leakage problems and water got all over bathroom floor. Service in restaurant was terrible had to basically serve ourselves.

Great staff! I did all inclusive so I paid nothing extra. Fast check-in and my room upgraded at no extra charge. Food was great for it to be all inclusive (shrimp, steak, chicken, mussels, burgers, fries etc.) It's not buffet and is cooked when ordered. Drinks were watered-down but I added my own alcohol to make them to my liking. Room was very clean. They don't provide washcloths, just hand towels and towels so bring your own. Lots of things to do on the island. I would stay again.

The staff is so great. Everyone remembers you. Food is better than average. As they were on an island it was difficult to get access to everything, out of a lot of ingredients frequently. One restaraunt so the food gets boring. building had a lot of construction going on and damaged things around it that were not being fixed. Not many people at the hotel during early December. Our hot water was turned off the first night we got there, but the maintenance was there to fix it within minutes. The ‘VIP room’ is the same size as a standard room. The shower was so small

It was misleading advertisement as All Inclusive property. We paid for All Inclusive food and drinks but it’s A La Carte menu instead of buffet style. The menu has very limited choices of food and it’s the same menu everyday. Food is terrible. We booked for 6 nights but checked out after 3 days. The property has no activities for guests.

Staff was amazing, property was clean and beautifully designed. The beach was quaint and quiet with great snorkelling however the beach was soft so not great for swimming. Food on this resort was more miss than hit. The snack bar was decent, and breakfast was as to be expected however we were disappointed with the Mexican cuisine. We expected great tacos and amazing options however the dinner felt frozen and not good at all really. For an all inclusive resort we wouldn’t recommend staying here for the food alone. Music was good and geared toward a younger crowd. Drinks were good. Staff was attentive and very kind
