Very good breakfast with a nice view

I was disappointed with my stay, particularly given the price of nearly £700 for four nights. Before I even arrived, the hotel accidentally took payment from my account twice. Although this was eventually corrected after I called, the person I spoke to said "it's a good thing you rang or we wouldn't have known!". It also wasn't even mentioned upon check in. Upon checkin, the guy on shift also kept making jokes about how I needed to tip him for ice in a glass, for showing me to my room, for telling me what time breakfast was... It started off a bit funny, but after the 15th time it got a bit weird. Especially after telling me he wanted my ID/address "for personal reasons". I had booked what was advertised on this site as a standard double room. However, when I arrived, the room was a “compact” or “cosy” double. The room was extremely small, with very little space, only one plug socket beside the bed, and a view overlooking neighbouring houses and pipework. No way are two people sharing that room. The room also had no air conditioning, making it uncomfortably hot, even with a fan. There was no lift so if you have a heavy suitcase, prepare to carry it up two flights of stairs. Unless you want to tip yer man £15 (or so he joked...) Coming back on the first night, there was a bunch of drunk lads in the foyer with tops off. Had the room not cost me close to £700 for four nights, I'd let these all slide. But it is not good value for money sadly.

Room was lovely, clean and cosy however unfortunately the breakfast on the first day was not cooked and gave me food poisoning, they tried to compensate the issue with providing a complimentary light dinner and soft drink. One member of staff asked on several occasions if I was ok which was kind.

We had a beach view room and it was amazing to look at the sea from the second floor. Breakfast was included within the superior room at a premium rate, but it was worth to pay more for the view. There was always water and ice tea at the counter and coffee machine available to get hot drinks at any time, which was great. Overall it was a great stay.
