Comfortable bed and convenient location. However, not the usual Marriott quality breakfast or staff experience.

PERFECT stay at this new property. Was in Madison for a night to see a show at the Overture Center. This mid-range hotel was put together doing everything right. Free parking. Got checked in early with no problem. Room was great - quiet all evening and night, black-out shades, comfortable bed with lots of pillows, coffee (but no tea) in the room, min-frig, microwave. The shower had good water pressure. Bathroom mirror was WONDERFUL for makeup. HUGE TV. Free Wi-Fi. The bar in the lobby in the evening was busy, looked fun, and had a fire pit and chairs on an outside patio. The pool looked very nice ... but I didn't try it (next time!). In the morning the included breakfast was surprisingly good with lots of choices. They had a waffle maker which is a favorite of mine. EASY and quick to drive into downtown Madison for the show. I would stay here again in a minute.

The hotel opened 3 days before we checked in. So I thought there might be some issues with personnel working out the operational kinks. But everything went smoothly and every employee I dealt with was cheerful and helpful. The hotel was spotless. Breakfast was quite good with three different hot choices each day. It seems to me that those options can be depleted pretty easily however, depending on the size of the breakfast crowd. If it is busy, its difficult for the staff to keep the food stocked. Sunday morning the coffee dispenser was empty for 10 minutes or so (and that's a no-no!). The room we stayed in was spacious, with two queen beds and a sofa. We stayed as a family of four and appreciated the extra space. Even the desk area was helpful - and separated the couch from the beds. The bathroom was large with a big sliding door that doesn't lock. Shower was clean, shampoo, soap, etc were in dispensers attached to the wall. The room closet contained a new iron and full ironing board, so that was nice. All in All, a great choice if you have a car and want to be in a quiet area close to Madison with easy (free) parking. Its a suburban feel, but only 6-7 miles or so from UW campus - about 17-20 minutes depending on traffic.
