Hotel La Scaletta

Close to airport. Too bad breakfast doesn’t start a bit earlier for those who have early leave times. Fairly close to airport

Overall the hotel was good and the staff were friendly. However, the heating did not work in the room and we froze the first night. Reported it in the morning and were promised it would be fixed. It wasn’t, but we did manage to get extra blankets for the second night.

Breakfast gamble but good staff great ac great and ocean view good… downside shower is smallest shower ever used and I’m world traveler and the room is small overpriced for area sea view not necessary

Hotel is conveniently located - a 40min bus ride (€1.10) from the airport, a 10 min walk to the station, right opposite the beach, a 2 stop train ride to Ostia Antica and 40 min train ride to Rome (Porta San Paolo which connects for same price to the Metro). Staff at the hotel are very friendly and they serve a really good continental breakfast - with a great range of croissants (as well as cereal, yogurts, breads, cold meats, cheese, fruits, cakes etc). Rooms are basic but adequate with a mini fridge, decent bathroom, comfortable bed, air-conditioning, good Wifi, lots of Italian TV (no English) and next to no noise from neighbours (exception - doors being left to bang shut). Hotel was good value for money and a much better option than staying in town as it is a quiet seaside area (except on the May Day holiday when it was busy during the day). Would (and am going to) stay there again (on return to Rome in a few weeks).

The breakfast was good, the staff were helpful and the view was great.
