Airport shuttle service is limited. It was only available 2 times during the day which did not work for us. The hotel was able to book a taxi for us which was great. Hotel location is in a great place. Very walkable with many restaurants around. The hotel is also accessible by metro and a short walk.

Ce n'est pas pour une chaise roulante. Ascenseur très petit, seulement une chambre pour handicapés, qu'on n'a pas eu. Sinon douche et toilette minuscule. Corridor très étroit pour une chaise roulante.

Personnel sympathique et disponible. Hôtel vieillissant mais impeccable. Petit déjeuner varié. Seul bémol : l'hotel partage la navette pour l'aéroport avec d'autres établissements. Elle n'etait pas au rv le soir de mon arrivée. Il y avait 45 mn d'attente pour le taxi. Il est préférable de s'organiser différemment si arrivée tardive. Le service de navette, comme il est conçu, n'est pas fiable.

This was a great option for a 14 hour layover! I was able to check in, sleep, wake up and put my feet in the sea across the street and grab breakfast before heading back to the airport! I arrived quite late due to passport control line and when I arrived I was greeted with a friendly and helpful man who kindly also gave me a yummy pizza spot around the corner. Breakfast in the morning was a great perk and I found it had great options and the most adorable women working who made me the best cappuccino! *Note that their airport Shuttle service require 24 hr notice to book with specific times And is about 13 euros + fee/tax. So because I booked the morning of I ended up having to take a cab from airport (which was a flat 50 euros) so note it would have been cheaper to order a car (30 euros). Because I was traveling on christmas eve day and needed to leave for airport by 7:30am the front desk kindly ordered me a car as the shuttle wasn't available at the time I needed. I was very grateful for this hospitality and really helped elevate that solo travel stress. Overall I felt very taken care of here and would deff stay here again because its literally right across from the sea!

Heerlijk hotel aan de kust van Lido di Ostia. Via hotel geregelde shuttle (13€) vanaf airport in 20 min bij hotel. Kamers zijn eenvoudig maar schoon,prima bed,koelkast en airco.Wifi is prima.Ontbijt is meer dan prima om de dag te starten.Personeel is zeer,zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam!! Onder hotel bevindt zich een Mac Donalds maar daar heb je totaal geen last van!! Wonderful location overlooking the beach, easy access to the shore, city stores and restaurants, and an easy walk from the MetroMare station (Lido-Centro). RXcellent breakfast, and the shuttle to FCO was very convenient.

This property is right across the street from the beach. There is an elevator to get your bags up to your room. Hotel is above a MacDonalds restaurant so it can be a bit loud depending on the time and day. We had some minor issues with the air conditioner and staff looked at the so. Girl preparing the breakfast was very friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Our room and especially the bathroom were extremely dirty. We saw fecal matter on the toilet seat and hair was all over the bathroom. The breakfast area was also dirty. We were recommended this motel because of shuttle service to airport. We will not stay there again and do not recommend it.

La Scaletta was the perfect starting point for out Italy trip! The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our balconies. We were picking up a rental car And meeting family the next morning and it turns out the rental car pick up was only 10 minutes or so from the hotel. It was off-season so There were not many dining options, but we found plenty still. I would definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately our family did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. The room was very small and not as clean as I would have hoped the bathroom had a very unpleasant smell, even after I wiped it down with cleaning wipes. I will mention that the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. If we were booked to stay more that one night, we would have checked out early and looked for another hotel to stay

Room was small but most importantly dirty. I have pictures for proof but cannot post here. Walls were all scuffed, bathroom was dirty. There was even a brown mystery smear on the light switch that looked like feces. Room smelt bad as well. Staff was friendly and free breakfast was good though.

After the hustle and bustle of the city, it was lovely to arrive at this hotel. The staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was spotless and comfortable. Ideal for viewing Ostia Antica.

The hotel is above the McDonalds and is a little noisy at night as the restaurant doesn't close until 2 AM, however with the AC and windows closed you barely hear the noise. The shower window had some mold and smelt funny but otherwise the room was very clean. Breakfast was adequate and the location was great.

Older hotel above a McDonald’s. We had what looked like a queen bed and twin but was actually 3 twins. They put 2 twins together and they kept separating. Thin sheet and thin old blanket on each. Shower was so small and no where to put soap or shampoo. Everytime I bent down to grab it I hit the switch and it turned water off. Room was big enough though and water was hot. Had an elevator. Front desk staff not so friendly but the lady employee handling breakfast was extremely nice and accommodating. Not a bad price but won’t be staying here again. Kind of run down old beach hotel. Across street from beach but we just spent the night before flight home since 20 minutes from airport. There is shuttle you can pay for but only leaves on the 10 minutes after the hour. They recommended 3 hours but that was too much. Think they just wanted to fill shuttle.

Pros - all staff from front desk to breakfast staff were polite and helpful. Good tv and wifi. Close to train and bus station and Oceanside. Cons - Stayed 2 nights and slept 4 hours each night. No insulation between walls. Could hear neighbours next to me talking, people above me having sex, people in the corridor, and slamming of doors all the way till midnight and passed. As well as early in the morning. Next door to McDonald's which has people yelling till midnight, cars and motorbikes revving loud and playing music loud from cars. Can hear it all. Bed is hard. Bathroom is small with claustrophobic shower. Couldn't reach my feet to wash and I'm a skinny guy. Feel like you are being drowned by the shower head because there's no room to get away from it. Turn to wash your arm or back and you are either hitting the tap with your back or arm or hitting the glass with your body. I would stay many times over for the staff service, but for the room and bathroom I won't. I'm coming back to this town again but sadly can't stay here because I require sleep and a shower.

I stayed at La Scaletta hotel for a night in early November. My experience was overall good apart from the heating in my room which wasn’t functioning. It’s an excellent choice for a 3 star hotel as it is very clean, very good quality of a mattress and pillow and very quiet. The breakfast is made with very good care and has many options. Ther is freshly made capuccino and a home made tart.The location is also amazing right on the beach and close to public transport with many options for eating and drinking in the neighborhood. Safe to walk on your own even during the late hours.

Zimmer ausreichend nur etwas wenig Ablageflächen im Bad. Frühstück war sehr gut. Nachts ist es sehr laut wenn man ein Zimmer mit Seaview hat. Preis-Leistung aber super. Parkmöglichkeiten ausreichend und Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar. Nur wenige Meter zum Sandstrand.

The check in was fairly fast as they are open 24/7 and the overall staff response was friendly and helpful. We arrived at La Scaletta Hotel by local bus from FCO Rome International airport Terminal 1 Cotral bus stop where we were able to buy a $1.10 Euro bus ticket per adult from the ticket machine located outside Terminal 1 building to Ostia Lido Central. There was a bus/ Metro train transit strike throughout Rome on Friday November 15 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with sporadic service throughout the system during the day with no guarantee of service. We were able to catch an early morning train before 8:00 am from Ostia Central main train station near the La Scaletta Hotel to get into the Central part of Rome before the transit strike began at 9:00 am. The free buffet breakfast from 7:00 - 10:00 am included a very large selection of nice bakery items, breads, cereals, fruits, yogurts, sliced meats, cheese, juices and a variety of specialty coffees and more. Great value!

I keep coming back to this property because of the great service. The front desk and breakfast staff always go out of their way to help. The location is great and across the street from some good beach restaurants where you can enjoy the sunset. Highly recommended.

The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. The room was very nice, smelled great, and even had a chocolate on the pillows for us! The hotel was very clean. We added breakfast at the last minute which was not problem. The hotel arranged for a shuttle from and to the airport for us.

The location of this hotel is directly across from the beach, with beautiful views of the ocean. The area is safe and there are a lot of restaurants in close proximity. There are options for public transit close by within walking distance, and it is only about 20-minutes from the airport. Overall the staff was very friendly and the rooms are small, but comfortable. My only negative comment is that I had booked an ocean view room with a balcony for two nights, but when I checked in I was given a an oceanfront room with no balcony. As a solve, the staff had me change rooms the following day, once a balcony room was available. This was a bit of an inconvenience and the response from the front desk associate was that the balcony rooms are not guaranteed (even though this room type was included in the reservation description that I booked through Expedia).

Airport shuttle service is limited. It was only available 2 times during the day which did not work for us. The hotel was able to book a taxi for us which was great. Hotel location is in a great place. Very walkable with many restaurants around. The hotel is also accessible by metro and a short walk.

The location for the beach and restaurants is perfect. The building is a bit dated and the rooms could do with a refresh, but although they are small, they are functional. Parking is available outside on the street, but it is extremely busy and you are not guaranteed a spot close to the hotel. The staff are great.

Wonderful location overlooking the beach, easy access to the shore, city stores and restaurants, and an easy walk from the MetroMare station (Lido-Centro). RXcellent breakfast, and the shuttle to FCO was very convenient.

This property is right across the street from the beach. There is an elevator to get your bags up to your room. Hotel is above a MacDonalds restaurant so it can be a bit loud depending on the time and day. We had some minor issues with the air conditioner and staff looked at the so. Girl preparing the breakfast was very friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants nearby.

It was a nice clean basic room right across road from the pier and beach with lovely restaurants nearby. We had a lovely meal and a great sleep but due to travel delays only had 12 hours in the area.

This hotel was such a great find! The staff are all so welcoming and kind. The accommodations were exactly what we needed. Breakfast had many options including freshly made cappuccino and espresso. The young woman who made the coffees and took care of the breakfast room was such a sweetheart! Our room had a spacious balcony with views of the water/beach with comfortable furniture to relax on outside. The location offered many choices for dining within walking distance and several places to shop. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is above the McDonalds and is a little noisy at night as the restaurant doesn't close until 2 AM, however with the AC and windows closed you barely hear the noise. The shower window had some mold and smelt funny but otherwise the room was very clean. Breakfast was adequate and the location was great.

We stayed 1 night just before leaving Italy. It was the perfect place to decompress and slow down after several busy days in Rome and Florence. The people are kind, the beach is wonderful and the pace is welcoming. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good - a typical continental breakfast. Staff was helpful. We used their shuttle to the airport and it was quick and on time. Great stay!

The unit they call Air conditioning did not work. We mentioned it 3 times, had a front desk agent come up once. He said how to open the windows and fly shields upon arrival, not a good sign at all. My husband wanted to sleep in the car..would not stay again. Think we've stayed there 2 other times and ac was good. There rating has gone done i noticed upon arrival.
