Samesun Montreal Hotel & Hostel

Not bad, bar available and decent common space!!

Ótima! O café da manhã é bom, raro em hostels da região. Com cama confortável e banheiro limpo dentro do quarto. O que poderia ter mais é local de convivência maior pois a área de convivência é pequena, mas para quem não procura isso, está ótimo.

無料の朝食サービスはパンやワッフル、りんご、飲み物だけですが充分でした。キッチンは調味料や食器類は揃っており自炊する方には最適です。部屋の各自ベッドはカーテンがないのでバスタオルなどでみんなカバーしていました。部屋内にシャワーがあり、またトイレが男女共有なのが嫌でした。

- Sheets, pillow with pillow case, and towels are provided. -Free breakfast. -There is an outside area. -Great staff. -Super clean. -Kitchen area and fridge. -2-4 minute ealk to Metro (inderground subway) and buslines. CONVENIENT!!!! ***The only thing I wish that could be different is that hotel guests be advised to keep their conversations down in the dorm.rooms. Yes I get that there are ear plugs at the front desk, and I even used my noise cancelling headphones, but there are people so inconsiderate thinking no one is in the room sleeping. Never experience the noise level in my room at any hostel I have stayed at. Stayed in the 8 bed dorm roo.. #22. There are two bathrooms, which is great. Small lockers. Has a fridge. Plenty of rooms to hang things up.

The best thing is definitely the location, very convenient and close to the Berri-UQAM which gives you access to three different subway lines. If you’re feel like walking it is 20min from Old Montreal. The breakfast is okay, you have bread, waffles and bagels and you can top it with Nutella, Strawberry jam, butter or simply just maple syrup. The hotel has also a nice kitchen that can be very useful. Now, the bad stuff: we stayed on room #200, which supposedly had a jetted tub. I followed the instructions to the letter and still the jets did not work at all. The power socket on the bathroom also did not work, so it might have something to do with it (I did not complained and asked to be fixed, however I would expect things to be working). The shower head leaked a lot, as well as the faucet-handles, especially the hot water one that was kinda loose. It would be nice to have some handles to help get out of the tub as well as shower curtains to give a bit more privacy. The mattress was terrible, it had a huge indentation on the left side that made my back hurt after a night sleep, the pillows were also passed due. Some light bulbs needed replacement because they were flickering like crazy. The room had no closet or somewhere to put and also had a funny smell. The place is crying for a renovation…

Beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy the complimentary breakfast. Clean towels and sheets provided. Friendly staff. Very economical with interesting people from all over! I enjoyed my stay.

Had a nice stay for 2 nights, front desk staff were helpful. Only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was that there was a little bit of mold in the inner edges of my shower, and I noticed one of my towels had a few small old yellow stains. But overall, felt safe, price was reasonable, and no bug issues. Pretty solid!

I booked for my daughter to stay at the property as she was attending a concert in Monteal. The stay was so bad that she only spent one night there even though she was booked for 2 nights. Linen was dirty, the showers and wash basin faucet had brown water from it. We had spent $1200 for the 2 nights and she had to leave after the first night as she booked into another hotel. She requested a refund but received nothing thus far. I would not recommend this hotel.

Rooms were spotless, staff is always courteous and you get a youthful vibe on scene that's pleasant and vibrant. I'm 53 and wouldn't go anywhere else to stay in Montreal. It's like your own apartment surrounded by fun if you want, privacy and quiet when you don't at the right price.

Cluttered and dirty. The shared dorm is in the basement.is extremely cluttered and dirty. No maintenance. Private rooms are not offered through Expedia.

Upon entrance, within 5 seconds I saw a mouse coming out under their fridge. This was behind the receptionist desk. I almost decided to sleep in my car but the room was already paid for and I doubt they would’ve given me a refund. I didn’t use anything else nor did I have any of their complimentary breakfast.get Ratatouille out of the kitchen immediately, that’s disgusting!

This is my go-to-place whenever I need to relocate within Montreal. I love the free breakfast. The staff are friendly. Nice. Wifi is fast. Great.

The check-in process (at least for me) was kind of convoluted and took a long time. My room was kind of humid and not the best ventilation. But it is open late and generally pretty nice! For a hostel it is pretty good! Generally clean, personally would not worry about bugs.

L’hôtel convient si vous cherchez simplement un endroit pour dormir, sans attentes particulières. L’accueil pourrait être amélioré, car il manquait de propreté et de chaleur. L’insonorisation laisse à désirer : le moindre bruit dans la rue est facilement entendu à travers les fenêtres. Le petit déjeuner est très basique, avec peu de choix.

Room is in the basement with small windows in front of building that must be kept shut because people sit there smoking.

Some people don’t respect rules , specially a night time, entering room several times at sleeping time, making noise, etc

Great hotel with a helpful receptionist.

The communal area is filled with good cheer while the staff is notably and immediately responsive, most welcoming, good humored, caring, gracious and impeccably well mannered. While standards are appropriately enforced, the staff are practical and reasonable in navigating around accommodating guests’ special requests. Breakfast offerings include quality, home-baked, fresh, hot muffins and fresh hot coffee, fresh bagels, cream cheese and varieties of quality jams. The staff make impressive efforts to treat guests fairly and equally, making time to interact with guests in order to create a cozy, safe and fun-loving experience. The facility is so welcome that guests requiring extended stays want to remain at Samesun indefinitely if they are in transition. (The faculty limits stays to one solid week within a single month sin there is ac healthy and safe guest turnaround. The faculty has solid sit conditioning throughout, a kitchen and a bar staffed by the desk managers. Additionally, the staff monitor a secured storage closet for guests that is only a few yards from the management desk. Overall, the stay at Samesun is a lovely, memorable and unique cultural experience filled with lovely memories. This facility is a far cry from any North American hostile.

An abusive and crazy young man from France has attacked me in the dorm 16 on September 4 in the morning. A CRIMINAL act. I complained to the police. The police came and said that I am telling the truth. But the young female receptionist of the hostel has managed my complaint and this very grave situation like it was nothing !!! Shame on your female receptionist on that morning. I really do not deserve the terrible and irresponsible way she has managed that grave situation. I will then never go back again at your hostel. Shame on her.

It’s a Hostel. You know what you’re getting into… don’t have high expectations for the accommodations. The good thing about Samesun though, is they’re always in a good location in the heart of the city.

Great staff, great location with access to the Metro, and an easy UBER ride to wherever you may be heading in the city.

I stayed 1 night..! Staff is very nice and co operative..! Near downtown can roam around by walking…! Prefer to stay here again when visiting Montreal..! Also budget friendly..!

Fantastic budget travel. Loved meeting and talking to people over breakfast and getting travel Ideas.

Rapport qualité/prix, j’ai bien apprécié. L’auberge se trouve à deux pas de la station Berri UQAM, ce qui est super pour les déplacements rapides. La propreté laissait à désirer à certains endroits, mais ce n’était rien de dramatique. Le personnel était gentil, accueillant et à l’écoute de nos besoins. Concernant le déjeuner continental, je trouve qu’il manquait d’options végétales (aucun lait végétal) J’ai donc dû m’en tenir aux fruits/jus seulement pas mal toute la semaine. Peut-être que d’afficher les allergènes sur chaque option servie serait utile et pertinent pour de futurs voyageurs. Ils offrent aussi un service de lavage/séchage à un prix fixe de 8$ par brasée, ce que je trouve très bien. (Vous n’avez qu’à demander à la réception) !PAR CONTRE! Veuillez leur préciser de séparer vos vêtements par couleurs, ou prenez soin de le faire vous-même d’avance car ma première brassée c’est moins bien passée, tous mes vêtements blancs ont été teindus en rouge puisque j’avais un seul morceau rouge qui était parmi mes vêtements sales. Oups! Somme toute, j’ai bien apprécié l’expérience. Je considère y revenir la prochaine fois que je reviendrai à Montréal!
