Waited a long time to check in as not enough staff available. Room was big and clean. It’s an impressive hotel but looking dated in many areas. The pool area in particular was very dated and not in good shape at all. The sauna was cold as they’d only just turned it on first thing in the morning which wasn’t good. Hot tubs were not hot. Really dated pool facilities. There are vans that drive you anywhere in the resort all day and night but these appear to be diesel vans. They really need to change these to electric to reduce their carbon footprint. £7.50 a pint of Amstel. Beer selection was poor. Food was great and lots of choice. Was worth the stay for the £120 I paid but wouldn’t want to pay anymore than that.

We had a wonderful stay at Celtic Manor! The spa services were lovely and relaxing, and the pool area was spotless. There’s a great selection of dining options on-site, we ate at The Grill and absolutely loved it. The grounds are beautiful for a walk, with plenty of space to explore and unwind. Definitely planning to come back soon!

We had a wonderful Bank Holiday Sunday stay in a Signature room. We arrived early and went for a quick drink in Merlin's bar before heading for a swim. The leisure facilities were clean and well maintained but the lockers were very hit and miss so I ended up leaving my things in an unlocked locker. The signature rooms were perfect. Plenty of room and it was nice to have the sofa area. We enjoyed using the signature lounge which was spatious and had a lovely view. The free prosecco was a nice touch. When we returned to the room the bed had been turned down and some extra toiletries left. Breakfast in Steak at Six was nice and calm the following morning. Would definitely return.

The Celtic Manor is one of my favourite places to stay in the U.K. The only small issue from my recent stay was that the Lift system cannot cope with the number of people staying. My room was on the 9th floor so using the stairs was not practical.

It is a nice hotel and well looked after. Everything seems to be over priced and extra charges for everything. The spa was very busy and not as plush as I had imagined it. Still a great resort and had that old posh feel about it

Paying £20 for parking is unreasonable. Check in queue was huge! 45 minutes in the pool feels a bit rushed. The staff are friendly though, service and breakfast excellent. The bar prices are a bit steep but to be expected in a hotel like this. Room was lovely with a great view. Just cut the parking charges. Only 2 spaces too but more and more cars circling with us….

The hotel requires an update, especially the lifts. Only 3 lifts for the whole hotel and every time we used them only 1 or 2 were working, extremely slow and very warm. No air con in those areas. The rooms are rather dated. Unable to open the windows. Air con in the room kept turning off.

Thoroughly enjoyed catching up with a friend the food couldn’t be faulted. Very comfortable beds. The carpets need attention also bathrooms need a deep clean and dust the occasional table between the arm chairs in the bedroom.

We have stayed many times at the Celtic manor. All have been very good experiences in fairness. Firstly, we had food at the Grill at the golf course. The food and service was exceptional. Could not have asked for more. The hotel itself is beginning to look very dated and grubby. The furniture needs replacing as damaged and old. There were live wires exposed on a plug in a hole on the floor in the main bar area (that my 3 year old daughter tried to put her hand into). Our room (943) was dirty with drink rings on the glass top of the dressing table. The shelf under the TV was also full of dust. The bedroom furniture was also old and damaged. The main issue that did become a problem was the pungent smell of urine in the bathroom. It smelt like it was coming from the shower drain. The shower itself was mouldy and the silicone surround was braking off. The balcony needed attention with weeds growing on the floor. The hotel as a hole is very child friendly. The feel of the hotel Is very relaxed and welcoming. The spar and pool area is very nice and clean. It’s Just a shame that the hotel interior is becoming very dated.

Gorgeous green area, nicely landscaped. Quiet location. Plenty activities. Nice room, spacious but needs a good deep clean or floor tiles need replacing especially around the base of the toilet bowl as it has a yellow stain around the perimeter (looks like ingrained stained urine). The grout on the floor tiles needs a refresh/replace.

Needs a thoroughly good clean in the bedrooms , they are tired and in need of tlc. Beds however are comfortable and the rooms are a good size. We stayed for a weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday. There were many incidents that seemed directed at us that took sometime to get resolved. The spa facilities are enjoyable although we didn't have any treatments, so can not judge. Breakfast was better on the Saturday to the Sunday, a lot of things overcooked, although excellent variety, something for everyone. Meal in rafters, some teething problems with what we ordered to what we were served, but rectified.Excellent food and all staff very polite. Communication is lacking when you have a problem or issue and you end up speaking to so many different people repeating the same over and over, like no one owns the problem, even though it is recorded on their systems. Plenty to do at the resort. Please don't be put off this may have been a blip for us but it did feel like there was something wrong each day. We did come away with mixed feelings about the whole experience, and as said issues were eventually resolved. We have a lodge already booked for a future stay and hope nothing goes wrong with this.

The room was ok , had to pay extra for another room as partner couldn’t get in lifts as room was on 10th floor .Bathroom had makeup on the tiles ,so it wasn’t cleaned properly before we get there , dust in the wardrobe ,other wise it was ok

Room was and the view was great until I went into the bathroom and the toilet needed a good clean it was brown in the bottom. When we went to bed about 11pm all i could hear were doors banging when people were going into their rooms until 12.15 am Then at 01.30 am the fan keep kicking in and we could not turn it off. 5 * my a.. it looked nice but i have had better sleep in the a budget hotel. Will not be returning i'll be booking the Holiday inn next time

Was staying on 8th floor. Room was very nice and clean but windows need resealed as you had the roar of the M4 even at that distance. Had a poor nights sleep due to this. Lifts were slow and always a que but hotel was quite busy. Apart from this it’s a fine hotel

Signature rooms are still reasonable but looking a bit worn and really let down by ancient balcony doors which are tough to open and let M4 hum and cold draft in - we could smell cigarette smoke coming into our room. Steak on Six and health club facilities are still good and Olive Tree and Merlins ok. Not a luxury experience but decent.

This is a three star hotel charging five star prices. Our so called superior room had old furniture and looked like it hadn’t been painted for years. The patio door was almost coming off its rails and had seen better days. The balcony overlooked the M4 and was old and rundown. The bathroom was old fashioned marble with discoloured grouting and even some mould in the shower.The buffet breakfast was quite good but unimaginative. The parking cost us £40 for two nights. Sorry but just not good value given the standard of the room. We won’t be back.

Beautiful rooms overlooking the golf green, very spacious and clean with a lovely balcony. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds in the morning before breakfast, the gardens and paths were well kept and pleasant.

Very disappointed, hotel was busy, not enough staff to meet the demand. Queue for lifts was ridiculous, drinks order taking up to 40 minutes to arrive then accidentally spilt over the table. Waitress was embarrassed, no colleague came to help her, no apparent team support.

Friendly, efficient staff. Customer service excellent. I left my luggage at the Concierge as it was too early to check in. When I went to check in, I was informed that my luggage had already been taken up to my room. Over and above expectations ! Comfortable bed, light , airy room with a lovely view. Amazing breakfast with lots of delicious food to choose from !

Awful experience. Took over 20 minutes to check-in, including being abandoned by first receptionist. Allocated a twin room when we’d booked & pre-paid for a family, double room which took another hour to sort. Finally, room service took an hour to come with just two sandwiches. Miserable

It was our first visit to the hotel and we were very impressed with the layout and design of the building and its setting. Check-in was superb and we are delighted with our room and the view from the 10th floor over the golf course. However, unfortunately a hotel was very significantly let down by the quality of room service. we ordered three separate orders during our stay and each one was incorrect. When we try to contact room service on the telephone they were unavailable for long period of time and did not answer. They got drinks wrong and then sent food to the wrong room and then brought us our final order at 1 o’clock in the morning when we ordered at 11 and we were asleep. This is very disappointing because otherwise the hotel is a superb one but I’m not sure that I would return or recommend it to friends or family.

Amazing stay again. Beautiful room and view. Breakfast was fantastic as always. Staff amazing especially Darran and Paul on concerige always professional and make our stay memorable. They truly are amazing people and assets too the Celtic manor. Dave the driver was also a lovely gentleman thank you for a wonderful break.

Large, supposedly 5 star, hotel that I’ve stayed at a few times. Unfortunately this time the service was atrocious. Had to wait 2 hours fir food ordered in the bar. Later in the evening I asked for a glass of wine and was told it would take around 30 minutes. Something really needs to be done. More staff perhaps? Not worth the money.

The proximity to the ICC plus I felt very safe as the hotel met my expectations. I did enjoy some relaxation at the beautiful spa facilities which was very good. All in all a splendid weekend.

Weather of course matters staying at the resort, and thankfully , the one evening we stayed , we were able to walk thru part of the grounds, and enjoy the surrounding area, there is also the resorts transport to take you from the main resort to different restaurants within the grounds, and bring you back, which was very pleasant and enjoyable, this was our third visit over the years and did not disappoint. Thank you .

We stayed on the signature floor. Hadnt booked breakfast but decided to. Told it was £16 each so £32 in total. When we went for breakfast £47!!!! Wta we went with it, expected bit of luxury. Scrambled egg looked like slop, bacon just not nice, beans cold, sausage cold. Choice there was good but no way near £47 or even £32 disgusting prices. Wasnt given another option to eat breakfast else where. We had a meal at The Grill, outstanding service, excellent food absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant 👌

The staff were friendly. The food was expensive and they advise you that they apply a "service charge" to everything. Ordered a chicken sandwich from the Bar which should of cost £8, actually cost us £11. Not advised at any point of our stay. And it wasn't the 1st time when what we ordered didn't warrant a "service charge".

We upgraded to signature... The check in desk for signature was chaotic and a free for all also being charged £20 car parking fee was a shock, the room was nice and comfortable. The signature lounge served free sweet treats and drinks between 4-6pm... We arrived there about 5pm... The sweet treats trays were empty and all tables were occupied... The service was very slow and unorganised. I asked for sweet treats and waited over 20 mins for the empty trays to be restocked within 5 mins they were empty again! We had booked the Olive Tree for tea we previously ate there maybe 10 years ago and the food was outstanding.. This time it was busier and the food was not being restocked I plated some rice and chucked curry as did my husband, he also picked up a poppadom... The grease from the poppadom was running down his wrist! The rice was cold and the chicken curry slightly warm... I don't eat cold food at home so was not going to eat cold food out in a restaurant.... So I though the carvery maybe a better option... After getting a plate and qued up for meat and then waited for the veg to be restocked, I managed to get half a ladel of gravy as again it was empty, sitting down to eat the meat was cold the carrots and parsnips were very greasy the roast potatoes were only partly roasted and again only slightly warm really not enjoyable... I did go up to try dessert.. At this point my husband had giren up on the food... Desserts looked OK but no spoons so had to ask and wait

Most disappointing feature was buffet at the Olive Tree restaurant. Very poorly presented and quality of “what was left” poor. Spoke with duty manager Tim Good who was very receptive to our concerns and agreed to refund cost. Staff were excellent but nobody seemed to be attending to and refreshing the buffet particularly main courses

Our stay at the resort was fabulous. The staff were lovely and friendly. The signature room package was perfect as was the complementary Prosecco & pastries at the bar on the 6th floor. The complementary wine and Welsh cakes in the room also a lovely touch. Breakfast in Steak on sixth was perfect. The Christmas decorations all over the hotel were beautiful. A thoroughly enjoyable time.

Celtic Manor is great for a getaway and we had a good trip. It seems to have slightly lost its excellence, but probably not helped by the room we were given (which was quickly changed) not having a view at all and being so dark. The Signature Room we had was looking quite dated and showed marks in the carpet and was quite worn but extremely comfortable, The bathroom was excellent. Dinner in The Grill was excellent and breakfast at Steak on Six was great, the staff there really were outstanding. Overall a good stay, will definitely be back but it wasn’t quite the outstanding stay I hoped for.

Lovely hotel. Upgraded to room with a balcony. Excellent customer service. Comfortably bed. Beautiful view from the balcony, Excellent choice for breakfast. I am a coeliac and the gluten free requirements were catered for.
