Quality Inn Donaldsonville - Gonzales

It's a slightly older property, meant to be near the river industries. If you're using to be near attractions and shopping, this isn't it. If you want something quiet and away from everything, it's a ghost town on weekends. Water pressure can be a bit low on the upper floors.

I called the hotel prior to booking to confirm they had an operational business center. The gentleman with whom I spoke confirmed they did. I prepaid and the booking was non-refundable. I got there to find their computer and printer wouldn’t even power on. I left without even checking in. The gentleman assured me his GM would issue a refund. That was several days ago and a refund has yet to be issued.

I do have MINOR complaints, but overall I'd choose to stay again and rate it 9.9/10. My complaints are: you get tiny little sofa pillows for a king size bed (resolution: bring your own). They left half used complimentary lotion etc bottles instead of new, unused ones. And only 2 towels for 3 travelers for 3 days 2 nights. I had to think hard to remember these complaints, so that should tell ya something. Staff was keep to themselves but friendly when spoken to ot asked for something. The pool hours were 9am- 8pm (August). The continental breakfast was from 6³⁰ to 9³⁰and is SUPERB for a hotel free brkfst. I definitely recommend!

This place is falling apart. Breakfast did have the best selection that I have had so far on my vacation so that I give a 10.

Very shady staff and management. We checked out early due to problems I will list below and was told by the person at the front desk a refund would be issued to us through Hotels.com. When I contacted Hotels.com they said they contacted the hotel and the person at the desk said there would not be a refund. I contacted the property myself and I was told they had my number off the caller ID and would contact me back. 5 days later they have not returned my call and they will not answer now when I call back. Also there are day laborers staying there which doesn’t bother me but they frequent the pool daily from around 6pm until it closes and they were offering my children beer in an obvious attempt to get us to leave so they could drink and play their speakers. Definitely not family friendly. Breakfast is sausage, eggs, and waffles every day. If your white fix them yourself if your black then they fix them for you. The lady that ran the breakfast area was definitely rude toward us. We was the only white family at the property and was not made welcome. There is a $100 deposit which is listed online in the fine print. If you pay cash they say you get it back at checkout. I used my card and 5 days later finally got that back. In their defense he offered me to use their ATM machine to get cash out for a ridiculous surcharge fee. All around shady property and I would never go back there again! P.S. if you go there bring your own towels because good luck getting more.

My stay went well. My bedsheets had a stain on them and that was gross. Everything else was nice

I've never stayed in a more disgusting place. Room had roaches. There was blood on the carpet and snot smeared on the walls near the bed. Management did not care. Stay far away from here.

Everything Was Clean and Enjoyed The Stay

Overall it was not a bad stay however some basic service issues were lacking. They should have some basic items available (plates, napkins, plastic ware in case a guest orders food and it is not provided by the restaurant). The evening worker did not have access to the breakfast area to get any. It is pretty standard hotel practice to have small trial size toiletrie items available for a guest who may forget a toiletrie at home--this was lacking. The cleanliness of the room was not impressive either.

As I live about 60 miles away, I needed to stay at a hotel that was near the seminar I was attending in Vacherie. I found this Quality Inn via Hotels.com and it was very reasonably priced. I arrived on a Friday evening with plans to leave early Saturday morning and thus needed quiet so that I could get to sleep early. I was given a room on the 2nd floor that was indeed very quiet and I didn't hear other guests above, below, or next to me. The young lady who checked me in was friendly and helpful. At check-in, a credit card was required to be charged for a $100 deposit. It was refunded to my card on Monday morning. I am a plus-sized lady so I bring my own bath towel; indeed, the bath towels provided were too small for me (this is not a complaint -- just a note for other plus-sized guests who might stay here). Travel-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were provided along with 2 small bars of soap for washing hands & bathing. I didn't have time to partake of the complimentary breakfast in the morning. I was able to drop off my keycard in a box without having to wait for someone to check me out, though another young lady staff person came from the eating area to ask my room number, I presume so that she could process all the check-outs, as there were several keycards in the secured box. As my seminar is likely to occur in the same location at least once a year at this time, I will likely stay at this Quality Inn again if the price is still reasonable.

Well...firstly I got scolded for picking a handicapped room....which I didn't see indicated when I selected it....so maybe that should be more obvious? And secondly the counter clerk was arguing with a lady that was having guys without keys banging on the back door. And thirdly.....this was probably the most bleak continental breakfast I've had in awhile. But I guess I got what I paid for being that it was about half the price of a lot of the rooms a few miles north in Baton Rouge. Also it sounded like the people upstairs were throwing heavy objects around all night.

The desk clerks on the night shift and morning shift were very nice. The little complimentary bottles of soap and lotion had previously been used before, cause they weee only halfway full. The air conditioner didn’t work through the night so our sleep was uncomfortable. The bed was very comfortable and I’ll take that. Would stay there again.

Stayed on the second floor for the entirety of my stay (217). Not only was it freezing cold, but housekeeping would not come by and clean my room unless I spoke with the front desk a couple of times. When I left, I forgot my ps4 controller. So I went back to retrieve it after work once I noticed it was gone. It was nowhere to be found and the only people to blame would be housekeeping, since across the board, they’re notorious for stealing items. I spent over $2,000 for my stay and now someone at the hotel stole my property.

The shower was lukewarm to ice cold. Not acceptable after a long day. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

The breakfast lady was awesome. She kept the food full even until the last moment it was opened. The hot water on the third floor specifically in room 317 was not consistent in having hot water. The front desk was awesome in our check in and check out. I would definitely use them again when in the area

I paid for two nights at the front desk for the room that I booked to Hotels.com. I had to leave a day early and checked out and then asked for a refund for the second night and they did not want to do that. I would avoid this hotel and booking through hotels.com forever:(

Was a bit taken back by having to pay $100.00 deposit to check in. After paying in advance thru Expedia. I was told at the desk I would receive it back. We will see . this resulted in the low rating.

your staff was so nasty to me. i'm at this Hotel often.. youir staff keep 5.00 of my deposit. she said that one off the small towels had a stain on it that could not be removed, you lost a very good customer because a nasty attitude and a wash cloth!!

For the price - it was good value and conveniently located for the attractions in the area.

Breakfest was terrible Has a lunch lady that was very rude. They was serving spoiled milk and she wanted to argue it was fine. Plus she said wafle dispencer wasnt working but another employee came in and helped herself.

Hotel staff was excellent. Great customer service and were extremely helpful, polite and efficient. Lady preparing breakfast/ breakfast room was very cheerful at 5 am!!

Poorest breakfast, no fruits, no bread. Ask the staff to offer some bread. Empty rack, only two juice options. Oder smell in the room.

The place is pretty clean, except for the air conditioner filters. I still don’t understand how in Southern Louisiana people don’t believe in keeping air conditioner filters clean. Front desk was friendly and helpful. I really want the breakfast lady’s job though. All I saw her doing was sitting on one of the chairs in the dining room, while people were eating, doing something on her phone and watching TV. Didn’t bother wiping up tables after guests finished eating. SMH They do actually have cooked food for breakfast, or did while I was there. The coffee was horrible though, and there was no juice.
