The best location right on the Cathedral property and two minute walk to city center. I would only request that the lodge send parking instructions to anyone that will park there. We drove around for 30 minutes before we found out way in.

The hotel is in a great location and onsite parking is available if you reserve in advance. The breakfast was excellent and the room was generally comfortable although it lacked any seating other than on the bed.

Our second stay here en-route from a trip to France to break the long drive home. It’s a wonderful, clean, spacious stay with superb breakfast, free overnight secure parking within the Cathedral grounds and a superb view and access to the Cathedral. I dropped only one star in comfort simply because we were put in an older rear annex this time and there was no lift to the 2nd floor room and there was a street behind which had noisy youths shouting until midnight, not the fault of the hotel. Would I use it again, absolute yes however I’d try to ask for a room in the main modern building rather than get the annex.

Very nice hotel right in the grounds of the cathedral. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very good. My only complaints are the directions to the hotel and parking arrangements both of which were a tor nightmare. Otherwise a very pleasant stay

Lovely service and great location! It was amazing to be so close to the cathedral. We would say however that the style of the hotel is a little outdated but that’s purely based on personal taste. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the garden overlooking the Cathedral was beautifully kept.

The location is fabulous - literally inside the cathedral grounds. The staff were so helpful and friendly, they couldn't have been better. The room was lovely and clean, the bed comfy and it felt really nice. There was a good view of the Cathedral from our room, and it was wonderful to be so local to the places we wanted to visit. The breakfast was really good quality and I'd happily stay again. There's a water bottle station on the ground floor where you can refill your own bottles, or borrow a glass bottle for your room. Staying at the lodge meant we didn't have to pay the £17 per person entrance fee to the Cathedral, and we were able to park in the Cathedral car park for the duration of our stay. I had left it quite late to organise parking, and it wasn't guaranteed on our arrival - but we were lucky to be able to park there. It was a £10 charge for the parking, but that is very cheap I comparison to the local public car parking which I believe is limited and can be very expensive (though you can buy a 24 hour permit from the hotel for £12 and it allows you to park in selected local car parks) Getting to the lodges in the car was the only thing I felt uncertain about, and I didn't know how to get into the car park off Burgate - it is the very first turn on the right once you enter Burgate, into what looks like a narrow one-way street (but it is not). It's between the pub and the British Red Cross shop.

I stay here twice a year, and absolutely love it. What could be better? You get the Cathedral and precinct pretty much to yourself once the public have left for the day. There’s a fantastic garden where you can watch the sunset over the Cathedral whilst sipping a glass of wine.

If you wish to visit Canterbury, the Lodge provides an incredibly convenient and quite comfortable place to stay. For those outside the main Lodge, the stairs may prove problematic for some, particularly those with extensive luggage or mobility issues. That notwithstanding, the access to the Cathedral grounds was lovely, and we would happily stay at the Lodge again.

This is one of the best value for money rooms in canterbury. We had a free breakfast included which was superb. You get a free visit to the cathedral included, which would otherwise be £20 per person. The location is perfect and you have a lovely view of the cathedral from the lodge.

The location within the cathedral grounds is a special feature. Lovely to wander around in the evening and easy for the restaurants. Breakfast was fabulous with a choice of cooked or a large continental menu. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a smallish double and the shower was adequate but not a huge space. Overall a delightful experience.

My Husband and I stayed here for our sons graduation. Great location for the cathedral and the city, rooms very clean and staff very friendly, breakfast was lovely. Would 100% recommend and would return for a city break.

This hotel is beautifully situated right by the cathedral and sympathetically built. Staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast is table service but service is prompt and the food of good quality. Lots of guests were reluctant to sit by the door (draughty!) and the tables for two were quite close together. We did not find the small beds comfortable and were disturbed both nights by noise from adjacent rooms and would say that the walls are quite thin. The rooms are fitted out in a corporate way and the bathrooms on the small side and flooring a little tired but extremely clean. I loved looking out over the gravel garden and the cathedral from the window seat.

Very comfortable place to stay. Very quiet atmosphere, every part of the lodge was clean and well arranged. The front people are all friendly and polite. I could enjoy the traditional English breakfast. The price was extremely reasonable. Impossible to complain. I highly recommend everyone should try this place.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff were lovely and we felt extremely safe staying here. The only negatives i have are firstly the pillows. Personally i like a soft pillow you can sink into and they were quite flat and hard here. Also the shower cubicles are quite small. It wasn't an issue for us, but for larger people they might find them quite constricted.

The property is centrally located, and the staff are helpful. The rooms leave a bit to be desired, but overall comfortable stay. The wifi (at least in our room) was unusable, on phones as well as the television in the room.

We were in the Annex and on reflection the main building was nicer. Our room was a bit tired such as very thin walls and hence noisy and the bathroom needed some attention. Small point but pillow were terrible and had to be changed for second night. Overall location was great with a really nice coffee shop and great breakfast. All staff were very good with special mention to the car park lady who was our first point of contact and very welcoming.

My room was perfect. Small but not cramped. Lovely window seat with window that opens. The view is stunning especially at night. Excellent cooked breakfast and friendly helpful staff. I don’t have one complaint I will definitely return.

One of the most beautiful views out of my hotel window that I have ever seen! Breakfast was great, the room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff and reception were amazing. Unfortunately, we could not say the same for the breakfast service. We had to ask twice (three times) for items we had ordered to be delivered to our table. We asked for coffee and no coffee was served. We asked for toast and no toast was provided. We asked for fruit and no fruit was provided. Until we reminded them we got the above items. We were polite and felt we were invisible. Three other tables were served before us and we arrived before them. To be fair the food and coffee was good. The room had a nice bed. The outside terrace was nice and the free entry to the Cathedral was a really nice touch. Loved the view and location.

My Husband and I stayed here for our sons graduation. Great location for the cathedral and the city, rooms very clean and staff very friendly, breakfast was lovely. Would 100% recommend and would return for a city break.

The location within the cathedral grounds is a special feature. Lovely to wander around in the evening and easy for the restaurants. Breakfast was fabulous with a choice of cooked or a large continental menu. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a smallish double and the shower was adequate but not a huge space. Well its owned and on the cathedral property. Wow I did not know that. It was a unique experience and close to the main streets. It was a great place to sleep next to the cathedral. It was cool to go to breakfast and see a priest or other parishioner getting ready to start a conference or some other worthy activity, not that that was the exclusive attendance of the hotel.

An excellent facility in the cathedral complex which was just what we wanted. We love the cathedral and it is so central to everywhere we wanted to go. At night the floodlit building is magical - photo is from our room window.

The best location right on the Cathedral property and two minute walk to city center. I would only request that the lodge send parking instructions to anyone that will park there. We drove around for 30 minutes before we found out way in.

This is one of the best value for money rooms in canterbury. We had a free breakfast included which was superb. You get a free visit to the cathedral included, which would otherwise be £20 per person. The location is perfect and you have a lovely view of the cathedral from the lodge.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! FANTASTIC, unparalleled views of the cathedral (like front-row seats) from their lovely garden. The hotel is wonderfully designed to bland in the historical architecture of the Cathedral which is free to visit for the guests. Peaceful garden overlooking the cathedral was wonderful too. Seeing the sunrise over the cathedral right from my bed was breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend 👌

Excellent property in side the grounds of the cathedral .perfect location . Breakfast was excellent. We were in an Annex room and 40 stairs to the room which we were already informed about .the room only had a fan which was absolutely useless in the heat .a portable air conditioner unit should be in the room..
