The room location was great but not having a working lift was a pain, being on the 2nd foor. However we were offered the service of the person who checked us in to carry our luggage. The property and room is a little tired in appearance. There was a massive jacuzzi in the room and a shower in the bathroom but no bath or show gel provided. When i asked reception said they did not supply only a tiny bar of soap and a small bottle of conditioner. Of the 12 hotels on route in NZ this is the only one and having a jacuzzi bath should have been a no brainer.

A nice view of the sea. A bit dated decor. Room up 3 flights of stairs. Very big complex. Unfortunately we weren’t able to get a park on second night in the complex as all parks were taken so had to park on the street. It was 10pm. Disappointing.

Was a great overnight stay. Located on Marine Parade with a full ocean view and balcony. Traffic noise is noticeable at peak times when ranch slider is open. Use of space in unit was well laid out and included a large spa bath. Plenty of parking. Restaurants within walking distance. The Warehouse is also a 5 minute walk. Great walking also available along full beachfront. Would stay here again.

Excellent quality clean modern rooms very reasonably priced. Good location for our stay, parking on site, large screen TV, was a lot of pleasant surprises I didnt expect from a small motel, it was definitely value for money and would highly recommend.

Lovely room. We had been upgraded to a sea view room which was nice. Unfortunately, it was on the third floor and there was no lift. Not good for a person with a disability but overall, very nice.

This property has so much potential but is let down by a lack of maintenance. Considering it isn’t very old it is very shabby. Great location, great view, plenty of space but just so rundown both in our executive spa room with sea view and the whole complex in general. There was wallpaper coming off the walls, water damage to the fronts of the kitchenette cupboards, grime/mould around shower base, paint missing from door/architraves etc. Just a shame that it isn’t being cared for.

The bathrooms need a good clean. The edges of the tiled floor are quite dirty. There were hairs on the floor & in the shower. The hand basin drain must be partial blockedas it took a long tome to drain.Rubber band under bed. The bottom sheet in bed was not rucked meaning as soon a i moved i was on mattress protector.

I really enjoyed my one night stay at The Nautilus, as I was just passing through Napier. It is definitely a Mom and Pop type hotel, but my room was extremely clean with a very modern bathroom and nice linens. I had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. The hotel is centrally located, easy walk to the beach, shopping, and McLean Park. Definitely recommend.

Spacious studio with good sized bathroom and partial sea view. Clean and thoughtfully furnished, and reception staff very friendly. Fast internet speed and huge Smart TV for entertainment. Location is great as easy walk into the city, shops, restaurants, and opposite the ocean. My studio is absolutely perfect for single or a couple but not for children. My only negative is lack of wardrobe and storage space. Just a very narrow cupboard with an ironing board and iron in it. Apart from this, I thoroughly enjoyed my 7 night stay and would return again.

Unfortunately the rooms are a bit tired looking. I had a room on the ground floor which was terribly noisy. I’m not sure the windows on the bifolds are double glazed so every vehicle that drove past was very loud. For this reason, I wouldn’t chose to stay here again :(

Stayed on the ground floor close to the road. Woken up at 5am due to the road sweeper then the traffic began. So don't expect a sleep in on the ground floor.

Very noisy for most of the night then again early in the morning with traffic and people and even fireworks at 11.30 in May. The room is dated and needed new paint etc. location for walking and the view is brilliant.

Second time here got the same room Its seems on the second visit 3mths on furniture more used Dinning seat was dangerous to sit on. lounge table wasn't the best cracks n gaps in it Seems as tho the up keep and maintenance was lacking Second visit was disappointing compared to first visit Weve stayed at many hotels motels some numerous time n units inside stayed the same unlike the Nautilus

Such a lovely welcome. Lady at reception was very friendly, accommodating, and gave us an upgrade for free, as I had booked the wrong room! Really well appointed, clean, great views straight out to Napier waterfront. Parking was straight outside. On-site restaurant had yummy food. Would definitely stay here again

It was the communication from the property. I booked it last minute and they couldn’t have been more helpful. We had to then add an extra person and again, they couldn’t be faulted with comms and assistance. Defo booking the Nautilus again. Thanks you so much.

The staff support was non existent, this was never a four star facility, a drunken brawl developed on our third night, staff were aware of the problem from around 7pm but the police were not called until very late in the evening when the disturbance was out of control, with Expedia's no returns no matter the cause left us heavily out of pocket, no way could we feel safe in that environment

Reception shut early at 8pm so if you had booked - and there was no mention of this when booking - it was a major drama to get checked in especially when the rude receptionist yells at you on the phone and demands a copy of your bank statement to prove that the bond taken off the card you provided wasnt stolen. A huge language barrier, so much that she had to text you her questions. Never ever have I been subjected to such rude behavior

Really friendly and helpful receptionist. Attached but independent restaurant gave terrible service for breakfast. Despite chasing things up, we were waiting well over half an hour for the coffees we had ordered and 50 minutes for our meal order. It’s best to eat elsewhere.

Very nice hotel well located on walking distance from downtown Napier. A beautiful room with all you need. Great restaurant by the hotel, serving very good breakfast. They opened early only for us on depature day, because we had a tight schedule! That is good service!

Our room was very nice and well appointed and the view over the road to the beach area was excellent. The kitchen area is quite dated but the furnishings and appliances were all modern and comfortable. Externally the entrance and staircase areas look pretty run down. Rust runs through the paint are very visible and these areas lack the same general tidy appearance of the room we stayed in. A nice bonus was breakfast at the onsite restaurant, which had lots of options and the quality of what we purchased (scrambled eggs, mushrooms, coffee) was a high level. Overall I would recommend, although not to anyone with mobility issues as there are no lifts to upper levels.
