We stayed in the pet friendly room with ocean view & kitchenette. Our labradoodle Tigger absolutely loved the grassy pet park situated at the side of the property! Since all pets have to be leashed everywhere else outside, it was a great place for Tigger to get acquainted with the other pups staying there and get their zoomies out! My husband and I enjoyed the outdoor fire pits that were located right outside our room’s back door. We were so close to the beach that if you kept just the back screen door closed, you could hear the crackle of the fire pit blend perfectly symphonic with the crashing of the ocean waves against the rocks and the sweet & salty aroma of the sea air permeates the room and lulled us into a peaceful sleep

This is the 4th stay. Always great friendly service. New softer linens noted this trip! Only issue was BBQ grills needed service. We enjoy cooking on the grills and eating on the patio. None of the 3 grills would light completely. On the plus side was office staff very willing to help. We did note that this morning maintenance was out servicing the grills. Look forward to next visit and working grills.

The whole hotel room feels clean. Relaxing room filled with microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine and proper towels for four people. The cleanliness just topples everything else. 9.5/10 especially a motel right by the coast.

Room had moldy smell..pillows had moldy smell and ocean view is very far away don't bother if your room is on first floor. We did not take shower in dirty tub and toilet with tiny space..sink is in same area with beds..was just one night but would not go back.

The beach access is so convenient & the staff are great! My only complaints are the cleanliness of the room (black mold in the shower & on shower heads, the fridge wasn't quite clean, & the microwave plate wasn't cleaned). My other complaint is the balcony sliding screen has rips in it & it's bent/doesn't shut all the way, so bugs will definitely get in (in our particular room at least) - would be nice to see them make a simple fix to this. We had stayed in a separate identical room last year that had the exact same issues. Overall, I would love to stay here in the future, I just hope these issues can be addressed, especially for the price.

The location is everything. perfect view! Slept to the sound of waves in moonlit room. This hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean! Cleaner than most hotels weve visited in the last few years. Cleaner than most 4 star hotels, how do you beat that? Will definitely be back.

The location is perfect!! But property is way overpriced for the type of room and being outdated. Carpets were terrible and cleaning was sub par…there were leftovers from previous guests. The screen door was open and worst of all, gets super hot at night and have to leave door open making you worried about security. Even screen door was broken; we didn’t sleep much at night.

Accessibility to the beach was wonderful! View was breathtaking. Walking trails are so convenient.The only thing is the temperature in the room. It is very warm and unable to control the temperature. No AC, but they provided an electric fan.

We typically avoid beach hotels due to poor experiences, but the Beachcomber was excellent! The rooms are average size, and the beds are very comfortable. Wi-Fi works well, and having a refrigerator is an added bonus. Second floor rooms have beautiful views of the ocean, and a walking/biking path as well as beach access are convenient to the hotel. The only negative is the very small bathroom, but it worked fine.

We rented out a room on the lower floor with 2 queen size beds. I've never been in a smaller bathroom. It was maybe 2 feet by 2 feet. There wasn't a sink in the bathroom, it was in the sleeping area. It was quirky, but ok, we dealt with it for 4 nights. The room was super tiny. It was just myself and my 2 kids so we dealt with it. The couple that checked in with their 3 kids next door on our last night sent me over the edge. Trying to open our patio doors and being ridiculously loud was intolerable. Not the motels fault. However it was a bit run down, the walls are super thin. I went to the lobby for coffee around 5am, they said the coffee wasn't ready until 5am. I went on a walk and went back around 5:30 and still no coffee...the employees were very nice. We highly enjoyed the location because it was just a short drive to downtown and you can walk to the beaches.

Even though the property is old, it’s well kept. And the location is beautiful. My only complaint is the lack of privacy from the balcony. Anyone could just open our sliding door from their own balcony, hop the three foot wall, and come in our room. They can also see right into our room.

Great location right on the beach with a walking path that leads right to town. Easy parking and easy to find right off of highway 1. We had a second floor room with a great view of the beach/ocean from the balcony and we enjoyed having a cup of coffee in the morning on the balcony. The rooms however have paper thin walls and heard guests under us partying all night one night and could hear the nextdoor neighbors conversations. The bed and pillows were pretty uncomfortable as well. They did not provide daily room service/cleaning due to continued COVID restrictions. We were told about a food delivery service called FoodRunners but the app and website didn’t work when we tried to order food from several different local restaurants.

The mattress was supposed to be king sized, according to the online room description, but it was actually a queen sized mattress. 2. The fire place pilot was always on and couldn’t be turned off, apparently. So it made the room warmer and uncomfortable at times. 3. The fridge did not work well. It kept items only semi cool which led to our food spoiling.

i made my reservations months in advance of my stay, requesting a bottom floor room on an end...and what did i get...upstairs with the only access being thru the lobby. why provide a space for notes regarding your room if you aren't going to provide what is being asked for, or at least contact saying that it's not possible. not my first stay at the beachcomber, but you can bet it'll be my last. thanks for nothing. oh yeah, did i mention a leaky soap dispenser? opk, the hot tub was cool...period. thanks for nothing.

We had such a wonderful experience at this hotel! The staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and genuinely friendly. One of the things I loved most was how dog-friendly the hotel is. It’s clear they go out of their way to accommodate guests traveling with pets, and it made traveling with my dog so much easier and more enjoyable. The terrace was another highlight. In the evenings, I loved sitting by the cozy outdoor fireplace, chatting with other guests, and soaking in the relaxing atmosphere. The view from the terrace during sunset was absolutely stunning. The location is fantastic too. There’s a beautiful biking trail nearby that leads to the beach, and the coastal scenery is just breathtaking. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Booked and paid for 2 pet friendly rooms ,receipts in hand and was told we did not and charged even more !!!! Did i say proof in Hand! Construction on both sides of Room and parked the cart right in front of front door! .nothing like making plans a head of time ,,confirmed, showing up with family and being charged more money, treated poorly..would be very Careful with these shady characters! On a good note beautiful deck with fireplaces a nice place to relax and fellow hotel guest where outgoing and friendly! Unlike the STAFF!

Check in staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Loved the location: Great ocean view and beach access with parking right next door. Glass Beach and the Skunk Train depot are a five minute drive away. Would definitely stay again.

Staff was unfriendly when we checked in. We booked a downstairs room but we were given an upstairs room. I have knee problem so it’s hard to go up on the stairs. When we asked if they could check again or changed us to a downstairs king bed if they had any kind bed room available. The staff was unwilling to help and all answers from him was a clearly “no” with no patience. I don’t plan to go back to this hotel again.

The Beachcomber Motel is a great property with the best location in Fort Bragg, oceanfront and next to the trestle bridge and walking trails. The employees are super nice and helpful, specially everyone at the front desk! It’s an older property but very well maintained. I have stayed here many times through the years and love it each time.

We stayed here with 2 other couples. The office put our rooms as close as possible. We had different types of rooms so they could not put us together, but close enough. One couple had the hot tub room. I loved it. Although it was upstairs. The room was huge with a hot tub. Perfect room would be down stairs with a hot tub. Not sure if they have a room like that. I love the fire pits. We hung out there until 10pm, when they turn off automatically. And the beach is right there. You can't even find a parking spot nowhere around as close to the beach as this. We will definitely be back.

Comfortable room overlooked the walking/biking trail, beach and the Pacific Ocean. Loved the balcony by day and the fire pits in the evening. It was a short drive to lots of dining and shopping.

The motel was in a great location for easy access to the beach. There is also some trails along the cliff top with beautiful views of the area. Would have loved a restaurant/bar on site but still a very enjoyable stay!

Disappointing to see they took away the special touch of the smores kit. Now they charge $10 for that and they dont offer a light continental breakfast anymore either.

This is the 4th stay. Always great friendly service. New softer linens noted this trip! Only issue was BBQ grills needed service. We enjoy cooking on the grills and eating on the patio. None of the 3 grills would light completely. On the plus side was office staff very willing to help. We did note that this morning maintenance was out servicing the grills. Look forward to next visit and working grills.

In Fort Bragg, I think this is the best place to stay and you can bring your pet. They offered treats and a dog towel and sheet which is nice to keep the area clean. Loss of walking paths and right at the beach. Nice fire pits all around to relax at night. The rooms were very nice also and accommodating. Highly recommend

We stay here every year. Great ocean views. Easy access to the beach & locks of love on the bridge. The grounds are full of gorgeous succulents. Always clean. I do miss the Continental breakfast but they do have coffee & cocoa 24 x 7. Love that it is dog friendly.

We booked this room last minute to extend our stay after 2 nights at the Inns of Mendocino. Simple + comfortable room with a stellar location! Loved that we had trails and beaches literally right outside our door, and the smores available at the front were a great add on. They also had bikes for rent for the trail. Only complaint was, we couldn't sit outside our room at night bc of how blinding the outside lights are for the walkway. Would 100% stay again!
