The beach that this hotel is located at is fantastic! A MOST SEA! one of a kind!! The hotel is nice, a la carte restaurants are amazing with lots of options and buffets were good with plenty of varieties! The service was great. We were very grateful with the trolly service that buses you to and from the beach as the hotel is quite big. The Employees are friendly and very accommodating. Estarlys at the swim up bar in Pool 4 was simply the best! Me and my family (10 of us) loved this vacation! We only have 2 complains. 1. A lot of the hotel is reserved for “privilege club” only and you couldn’t upgrade without changing hotels. It included large sections at the beach’s that were empty most of the time. Leaving limited room for everybody else. 2. The rooms are outdated and need some improvements and renovation. I would also suggest they open the beach buffet for breakfast as well! All in all we recommend this hotel!

The property was so large that you needed to catch a tram to go to every location. Needed a tram to get to every meal. The restaurant reservations for dinners were limited to two restaurants. The rooms did not have washcloths, only hand towels and bath towels. No room service was provided (only a fridge restocked with a few drinks- once per day). The service at the pool bars was slow. The service was not stellar, but servers were not rude. Not impressive service by any means. The kayaks and hobie cat use was the best part.

-Mosquitoes everywhere. I had to sleep with bug spray on as the maids leave the doors open when cleaning and they all swarm in. If you use the public restrooms you will have a swarm above your head at all times. -Beaches we're very crowded and people reserved the chairs for the whole week with their towels overnight so there wasn't anywhere to sit other than the sun. -Very poor communication. Events were cancelled and we were not notified. They have an app but the Wi-Fi is so bad on the resort you cannot access it. -They only give you 3 dinner reservations for the entire week and the rest of the meals you have to eat in the buffet which smelled like sewage water -The beds were so hard it will give you back issues. I had to use the couch cushions underneath the sheets to get a decent night's sleep -Seaweed filled beach water and beaches. You get wrapped with seaweed and it scratches your skin when you try to swim in the crowded water. -The trolleys to and from the beach average about 5 minutes which was not too bad compared to other resorts. All in all I am not sure what else I expected from a budget resort but will not come back to this one in the future.

The property was beautiful! It needs maintenance which they were working on. The main restaurant by the beach/pool is being renovated, bricks were being replaced and power washed the walkways. They have limited shuttles to take you from pick up points at the different buildings where you stay to the main building. We had to walk most of the time because of limited shuttles and it was .5 mile walk one way (the resort is huge). On the evening they had a wonderful show not a single shuttle was running. You can reserve 2 specialty restaurants other than buffet during your stay. We chose Garden Grill which was ok except they played AC/dc and heavy metal music??? We also ate at Maiko hibachi which we arrived 10 min early and the girl had us wait and then walked away and they held a meeting past dinner time while a line of customers waited. Then there was no “show”, no yum yum sauce or ginger steak sauce. When we did get served he then did a massive fire that I’m surprised didn’t singe someone’s hairs…my husband found a long strip of paper in his food. The actual shows outside were wonderful, the staff were friendly, the mini club for kids was absolutely amazing! They hunted my kid down no matter where we were in the resort to do fun kids activities. The mini club staff were phenomenal! The food there was absolutely beautiful in presentation! The juices, milk and alcohol were all watered down! Beds were hard as a brick. Mold in shower. Beach seaweed is a lot and stinks of dead fish.

This hotel was lovely to stay at if a little outdated but they seem to be going through some renos so who knows. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They could probably use more help at the front desk as when new buses come in they are swamped. But very prompt when you need something fixed. My room maid was extremely friendly and charming. Little disappointed the kids water park was closed when we got there due to repairs so there weren’t many locations to take the kids except for the beach and pool. Need another water park if the other will be closed down. Lobby needs working fans around. Nowhere besides our room to cool down and considering it’s a major connecting/lounge area for so many it gets too hot to quickly. Wish we had been given more direction on downloading the hotels app as we did not know that all the kids events were mention there. Would have liked to see a local town without also having to purchase an excursion as well. Other than that it was a lovely stay

The property is gorgeous and appealing. I took my kids with me and they were very pleased with all the activities in the resort. Leonardo, the clerck attendant was very professional and he checks us in with such ease and timely manner. The service at the dining room was good ( Ana, Roberto, Jose and Ricardo ) were kind and serve us with a warm smile and great attitude. However, the cleanliness of the dining room wasn’t good cause we got interrupted by a bunch of flies and roaches running in the dining room.

We booked 2 rooms. One with a king sized bed and one with two double beds. When we got to our rooms, the double bed room actually contained a king bed and a roll away bed. We did not press the issue. The first night there, we went to book our a la carts reservations. We booked 2. The first was at the Gard b Grill. That meal went off without a hitch and the food was good. The second meal was at the Brazilian place. When we got there, they said we were not on the list. We went to the front desk (clear across the resort). They said we were on the list. After back and forth for over an hour, we finally were able to use our reservation. The food was good. The buffet area smelled awful all the time. Major plumbing issues. The food was hit and miss. On day 3 of our trip, our daughter ended up with about 60 bug bites on her legs. At first we thought it was mosquito bites, but she was the only one that had them. Coincidentally, she was also the one sleeping on the roll away. After investigation (pictures to prove), we found BED BUGS in the roll away. Hotel staff did switch her room, but refused any compensation and were very rude about our reaction to the situation. We then started seeing multiple people with multiple bug bites just like my daughter. It is not mosquitos or sand fleas, people. I would NEVER stay here again or recommend anyone else does!!

We were put in a whole section where it has not been renovated (so were 2 other families i traveled with) our rooms had lots of black mold all over the bathrooms, walks, anove bed, air conditioning units broken, shower heads are broken, black mold right next to mini fridgerator and solied, stained pillows and comforters!!! Yes soiled!! I took pictures of everything. Never going back! Tried callibg Expedia to tell them. No luck!! There is no actual way to tell them. I have tried every avenue. Hopefully this one works waste of money!!! Pools great! Entertainment more for kids, Entertainment by pool great.

Unfortunately I have to be honest that my experience with the hotel was terrible, I found blood on the bed sheet that indicated the presence of bed bugs. I had to switch room, and that time that room smelled Like mold and had many mosquitoes. I will not go back again to that hotel.

En la reservación decía que tenía todo incluido, pero al llegar dijeron que solo teníamos tres días de restaurantes. En general estuvo bien, el lugar en bien bonito. Si pueden pagar alguno de los luxury, mejor. Recomendación dialogar con los del front desk porque ellos entienden y resuelven bastante.

I booked for Bahia grand Bávaro & the only complaint we have is about the room. It didn't look like the picture on expedia. You could tell the room & bed were too old. Bathroom was falling apart with a smell of too much bleach. We complained at the front desk and they upgraded us but we had to pay the differences.. after that the whole vaca was amazing! There are 7 resort on this property& we had access to 3 of them. All people were so nice and attentive towards our needs. Beautiful experience!

WIFI is HORRIBLE. Connectivity is strong only in the lobby area; 1 of 4 devices could connect in our room. Room interiors are rundown. The ceiling and walls were cracked and looked like plaster was going to fall on us. The mattress was similar to a pull-out sofa. One side was slanted and I almost slipped off. The safe wasn't working. TV and hairdryer weren't worth using. We had to replace our room key at least 4 times. Room TV only has local cable without any streaming services. Minibar had water and two sodas. Mosquitos are everywhere! The hotel didn't have any shuttle services to local areas. You either have to book a tour or use a taxi. Taxi service is $40 each way. So if you want to check out the local town, you'll be paying $80 for your round trip, which includes the airport. The majority of the staff is nice but does not speak English. Service is very slow. Check-in was frustrating. The staff spent more time chatting with each other than with us. This is our first 'all-inclusive' experience. We had questions about dining options which nobody was able to explain. Guest Services or Tour Desk always has a long wait. Buffets are as expected. Food labels don't list ingredients. A-la-carte restaurant menus are not kid-friendly. Pools and beach are nice. Get there super early to get a lounger/umbrella. Water toys must be purchased and are expensive. Entertainment/activities are basic. Minigolf course is concrete.

Although the property itself was ok, the room was not well lit, the phone didn't work, we couldn't set the safe- there was a bad connection with the number pad. The next day couldn't open it. The room key stopped working. Got stuck in the bathroom. Left the day after arriving.

Rooms need upgrading. Everything was outdated in the room. WiFi goes in and out. You have to ask for wash clothes. Tv was not clear. They did switch our rooms but it was no better. Clear beach water and pools were awesome.

My Wife and I visited in 2014 for our honeymoon we came back for our 10 year anniversary and loved it once again! The staff is very welcoming and friendly, the food is great and so are the drinks. Pools and beach are very accessible and fun!

To begin, this was our first time in punta cana for an all inclusive, and it will almost certainly be our last. We found Cancun and surrounding areas to be miles ahead of what is offered in punta cana. At least at this resort anyway. We began our trip finding ourselves having been booked into a room where people were already staying, resulting in an awkward situation. Minus a few employees most of the staff was not helpful in anyway. In particular the check-in and guest services were of little to no help. Get used to the phrase "no sei". It means "I don\'t know" and you will here it a lot from staff in all areas of the resort. Hard to find any transportation in the resort. Also helpful hint * grand bahai Principe - grand Bavaro, and punta cana are essentially the same property with at least two other resorts. So it\'s big, like annoying big though. Honestly too much more to write so I\'ll just end here.

Check-in took almost an hour only about 10 people in front of us. There were several staff members helping but nobody seemed to know what they were doing. There were three members looking at one computer they seemed to be arguing. This kept happening over and over. Once we got checked in they did not inform us of anything in regards to dining, how to set up reservations. The resort is very long they have transportation from the lobby to the beach so you don't have to walk we were not informed of this we had to figure this out on our own. Only three outlets in our room only one was working And our mini fridge didn't work. It took 2 days and four trips to the front desk to get bottles of water put in our room. I will never stay at this resort ever again.

I had an amazing trip. Everybody went above and beyond for my enjoyment. The food was surprisingly great, the service impeccable and the beach was perfect. I’d like to take a moment and just say that my customer service rep, Danger, was a standout with his service. Anything I needed, he was there to help assist me. I will be back soon, and he’s a huge credit as to why.

My first room smell really bad ……. My 3rd room was pretty cool it was by the pool and beach …. The staff very unprofessional I felt unsafe they gave another family my room key !!! My family just came from the pool and was changing out of the wet clothes the other family came in the room and seen my 9 year old naked!!!!! I went to speak to management no one came to help me so we left the resort !!!!!!

This was my second time visiting Bahia Principe, and I was shocked to see the decline in service and overall experience. On the first day the staff sent us to rooms that had serious issues (broken locks, no safe or AC, etc.), gave us keys to the wrong room, and ultimately wasted 5 hours of our time in which we had to drag our luggage through the heat from room to room until one finally was safe to stay in. The staff were incredibly rude and instead of giving us any compensation for our troubles, they repeatedly attempted to make us sign a contract removing any and all liability from the hotel for the entirety of the trip in exchange for a cheap 25 minute massage. After refusing to sign the form for safety reasons, guest services continued to call and come to our room attempting to intimidate us and insisting that we sign. The grounds of the property and the entertainment staff were very nice, but the service and lack of hospitality at the front desk is unforgivable. They said that if we had booked directly with the hotel rather than through Expedia we might have had better service. Loved Bahia last year but seems that management has worsened. I\'m sure that they will just reply to this message with a "sorry you feel that way" and do nothing about it...

Was ok. Workers ver unprofessional and most of them don’t speak English very rude too. When you get there will update your room they ask you to pay extra money and if you pay cash they take it money no receipt. You can negotiate how much you want to pay for upgrades. Will not go back for sure I been at better resort in DR where ppl are more nicer.

The beach that this hotel is located at is fantastic! A MOST SEA! one of a kind!! The hotel is nice, a la carte restaurants are amazing with lots of options and buffets were good with plenty of varieties! The service was great. We were very grateful with the trolly service that buses you to and from the beach as the hotel is quite big. The Employees are friendly and very accommodating. Estarlys at the swim up bar in Pool 4 was simply the best! Me and my family (10 of us) loved this vacation! We only have 2 complains. 1. A lot of the hotel is reserved for “privilege club” only and you couldn’t upgrade without changing hotels. It included large sections at the beach’s that were empty most of the time. Leaving limited room for everybody else. 2. The rooms are outdated and need some improvements and renovation. I would also suggest they open the beach buffet for breakfast as well! All in all we recommend this hotel!

Es un complejo de hoteles bastante grande, en el que particularmente estuvimos (Grand Bávaro) el problema que se tiene es el orden el checkin, es un desastre, todas las personas acumuladas allí para eso y las habitaciones no estaban listas a tiempo. La ventaja es que si se llega temprano puedes disfrutar de una vez de todo lo del hotel hasta que entreguen la habitación. Tuvimos inconvenientes con huéspedes súper ruidosos y nunca fue nadie de seguridad a percatarse del asunto. Adicionalmente hay muchas actividades que tienen costo, es algo a mejorar en la comunicación donde se dice que está disponible todo lo acuático. Ni esto ni el transporte lo cubre. Los restaurantes son ricos y las personas de animación excelentes. Son quienes hacen la estadía muy agradable.

The property was so large that you needed to catch a tram to go to every location. Needed a tram to get to every meal. The restaurant reservations for dinners were limited to two restaurants. The rooms did not have washcloths, only hand towels and bath towels. No room service was provided (only a fridge restocked with a few drinks- once per day). The service at the pool bars was slow. The service was not stellar, but servers were not rude. Not impressive service by any means. The kayaks and hobie cat use was the best part.

This place is massive. Multiple resorts together with shuttles running in a loop. It's walkable, but nice to have shuttle sometimes. The beach has a beautiful breeze and quieter than the pool with all It's activities. Very friendly, attentive staff. Reason for 4 star is because the buffet food is cold unless a chef made something fresh for you. The room refrigerator was cool not cold. No face cloths, no body lotion. Plenty of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. No diet coke. Only full sugar sodas.

The property is beautiful with clean rooms and good breakfast, lunch, dinner bufftets. Ala carte dinners should have been more. The beach is pristine and clean. Entertainment was good. Ala carte dinners were good(Greek/Mexican) On the other hand the service was terrible. All Staff did not speak a word of English, hence difficult to communicate. Terrible service in buffets. Every single time received Coffee/beer etc at the buffet service after we had almost finished breakfast/dinner. There was always a shortge of plates at buffets. Entertainment was also in Spanish. But otherwise had a pleasant stay.

i love the security inside the property. it made me feel safe all the time. food was delicious and the staff very professional and nice. the olny down side of my vacation time in this resort was the algae at the beach. the first 2 or 3 days, it was a lot, but i also must say that to my surprise the day of my return home, the beach was clean and blue. mother nature was also pleasant, and mosquitoes in a scale 1 to 10, i will say 4( we always used Off though). shopping wise, you can find the best prices at the stores that are parte of the resort.

Was a lovely hotel, all the staff was friendly and we were upgraded for free because our room was not ready on time. Lots of amenities and activities. The pools and beach were beautiful. The only thing that I would say could be improved is the food. Buffet food is the same everyday and gets pretty old after a few days. The alacarte dinners were better for sure, but very hard to book into as they fill up fast.

The staff at buffet restaurants sometimes are not around or one tell you to search for another to help you with basics as a cola or coffee. Night shows weren't that spectacular. Alcohol quality is pretty bad. The bounganvilla Buffet Rest smelled everyday like sewage.I

Calls itself “All-Inclusive” but you can’t eat at any/all of their restaurants. Some are reserved for certain hotels, there’s also a rule (WHICH IS NOT ADVERTISED) that you are allowed to eat at restaurants at a 2:1, so if you stay there for 6 nights you have 3 vouchers to eat at a restaurant throughout your stay, the other 3 nights you eat at the buffet, which is good but not what I want at an all-inclusive.

Staff in general is great. Waiters , entertainment, bar tenders , etc are great. The smell in the dining room is horrible, the buffet room location is Terrible at Bavaro, we could not eat there even one day, smells as sewerage. We had to jumped into Punta Cana restaurant. La comida del buffet no es buena no hay variedad desayuno y lunch pensé encontrar mariscos, el primer día camine 3 veces al lobby para que me solucionen el aire de mi habitación cosa que me pareció súper agotador porque el lugar es muy grande recién llegados y que no puedan ir a tu habitación para saber cómo está y uno tener que ir no me parece, pero bueno pudieron solucionar, el personal increíble. El olor de los restaurantes a manglar es un poco molestoso y los restaurantes buffet no tienen aire o si tienen no abastecen. Eso de poder comer en los restaurantes japoneses de mariscos carnes brasileños las veces que uno pueda como dice en la página cuando uno va a comprar no es así solo te dan 1 restaurante por cada 2 días de estadía cosa que yo pase 9 días y pude comer en 4 muy buenos pero no deberían poner que uno puede entrar a esos porque no es así

I worked in the hotel business and I have only ever written one bad review and I travel often. The good: The location is beautiful, the beach and pools were nice and the service in the restaurants was efficient. The bad: rooms are outdated with only one working outlet to charge all of our phones. The buffet was gross. The only foods that didn’t make my entire family sick was the fresh fruit and the bread. Every time we ate anything else we were all sick 5 times a day. Booking: on Expedia I paid for 3 adults (even though one of my children is a teenager). When we checked in they said I overpaid and they couldn’t give my teenager an adult arm band. This was fine, except for I received no refund and then when I went to book reservations they wouldn’t let us in the restaurants with a child. I tried to book reservations for dinner through the app before we arrived and tried to call the hotel. They said to book when we got here. Well when we got here there were no reservations left at any restaurants except at 10 pm. And then, it was at the 2 least desirable restaurants. The good: The location is beautiful, the beach and pools were nice and the service in the restaurants was efficient. The bad: rooms are outdated with only one working outlet to charge all of our phones. The buffet was gross. The only foods that didn’t make my entire family sick was the fresh fruit and the bread. Every time we ate anything else we were all sick 5 times a day. Booking: on Expedia I paid for 3 adults (even though one of my children is a teenager). When we checked in they said I overpaid and they couldn’t give my teenager an adult arm band. This was fine, except for I received no refund and then when I went to book reservations they wouldn’t let us in the restaurants with a child. I tried to book reservations for dinner through the app before we arrived and tried to call the hotel. They said to book when we got here. Well when we got here there were no reservations left at any restaurants except at 10 pm. And then, it was at the 2 least desirable restaurants. Was ok. Workers ver unprofessional and most of them don’t speak English very rude too. When you get there will update your room they ask you to pay extra money and if you pay cash they take it money no receipt. You can negotiate how much you want to pay for upgrades. Will not go back for sure I been at better resort in DR where ppl are more nicer.

I booked for Bahia grand Bávaro & the only complaint we have is about the room. It didn't look like the picture on expedia. You could tell the room & bed were too old. Bathroom was falling apart with a smell of too much bleach. We complained at the front desk and they upgraded us but we had to pay the differences.. after that the whole vaca was amazing! There are 7 resort on this property& we had access to 3 of them. All people were so nice and attentive towards our needs. Beautiful experience!

The property is gorgeous and appealing. I took my kids with me and they were very pleased with all the activities in the resort. Leonardo, the clerck attendant was very professional and he checks us in with such ease and timely manner. The service at the dining room was good ( Ana, Roberto, Jose and Ricardo ) were kind and serve us with a warm smile and great attitude. However, the cleanliness of the dining room wasn’t good cause we got interrupted by a bunch of flies and roaches running in the dining room.
