Great property, easy to find, and easy to park. The food was great and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

Well situated, and very comfortable. Food and service very good indeed. Ample parking spaces and overall good value for money. Allocated room was spacious, warm and clean. Good amenities. Minor points: Need a bath mat and more toiletries please. Wife and I would happily stay at this hotel again thank you.

The Huntsman was very welcoming on a chilly wet day. Plenty of parking provided. Room was cosy, warm and spacious, a well stocked hospitality tray - far better than many places I’ve stayed in. Comfy bed and plenty of hot water! Room was lovely and quiet with gorgeous vies of the Pennies (and grazing sheep!) Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and a very helpful waitress on duty. Highly recommended, and will definitely stay here again when next in the area.

Had a great stay even though there are refurbishments going on -should be finished soon. Staff and service were very friendly. Breakfast first class. Worth a visit.

Lovely place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of nearby towns, on Saddleworth Moor, this inn offers modern conveniences in an old world pub. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the views amazing, the bar and dining areas are extremely attractive and well staffed. The food is prepared on site and is of a very high standard (the home made granola is amazing!). We would love to return.

Lovely clean room, comfy bed and lots of pillows, after a 7 hour drive from Kent this was lovely to crash into after a long day. I was welcomed from the onset, check in was easy and both were incredibly warm and friendly. I really appreciated the lovely extras provided such as the cafetière for coffee and the bottled water. As a single female traveller I didn’t feel at all out of place (as I have in some previous smaller accommodations I’ve stayed in for work.) Will definitely return!

Lovely overnight stay with a very good meal in the restaurant. Bedroom clean with lovely view. Only disappointment was the bathroom, which had paint flaking off the ceiling and the grout in the tiles was dirty and needed cleaning.

Improvements- The bed was extremely uncomfortable, poor lighting in the room, lack of plug sockets for chargers etc, the shower wasn’t overly powerful and the carpets looked a bit tired (stains etc) Overall it was a convenient place to stay at a very reasonable price however the bedrooms could do with a refresh.

Everything was great, only issue for me was during the night, there was what I assume the boilers going on and off with the boiler pumps that can be heard. But other than that, the view from my window was incredible.

Beautiful room, clean and comfy. Shame about the noise from what i can only assume was the external air con unit.

We stayed for 2 nights mid-week whilst visiting the area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was of a good standard for pub accommodation - comfortable bed, hot shower, good wifi, nice breakfast. We did not eat an evening meal there due to other plans but would have been happy to do so. The Huntsman is a little way out of the town centre so if you are planning to go out in the town centre, you may want to take a taxi in/out (inexpensive and plenty of them, so not a negative issue). We would stay there again when we next visit the area.

Hotel was lovely, view from the window was a roof so felt really closed in which is a shame considering the area we where.

It was lovely and warm, both in the room and general areas. The breakfast was very good and in an attractive dining area. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. Lots of welcome extras eg, tissues in the bedroom, a decent hairdryer, products in the bathroom.good lamps and lighting. The duvet was too warm, a top shhet and blankets could have been an option.

Nice hotel, good food. However, the stay was soured by no WIFI in the room and a poor choice of ales, only one, which was horrible.

Reasonable. Normally i would have said excellent but one or two things were not upto there usual standard . There was music noise from downstairs until late and the room i had was v dark but was attractive ( 13) . The food was ok but mine lacked vegetables and the fishcakes were dry.

We stopped over night and found everyone friendly helpful and the accommodation clean and warm everything we needed. There was large function taking place which I was emailed about beforehand to let me know they had moved my room to be a little bit further away from the noise , howeve r we did not retune till midnight so it did not effect us . 10 out of 10 will recommend and stay again

Lovely stay at the Huntsman Inn, room was clean, comfortable and looked out over the moors. We ate in the restaurant where staff were prompt, helpful and friendly. The reception staff were great and gave us great info and helped with taxis etc. We had a lovely stay and would certainly recommend a stay here. We’ll be back in the future.

Stayed here when visiting for a wedding in Holmbridge. Could not fault the stay. I knew we would be arriving around midday and was concerned because check in was not till 3pm. Called a few days before to ask about early check-in, and the gentleman on the phone was so friendly and helpful- said they would do all they could to have our rooms ready early. When we arrived on the day, both of our rooms were ready. All staff were very friendly and it seemed they were genuinely invested in ensuring you had a good stay. Breakfast was nice with good choice and again, staff in the restaurant were lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Definitely recommend.

The Huntsman Inn is a beautiful property with amazing staff and incredible views. The place was very well maintained and the staff were incredibly wonderful and friendly. It's a shame we only stayed one night and would love to go back here again. The room was cost and warm, the food was good and was definitely worth the trip.

Fabulous location with beautiful scenery

The Huntsman is right on top of the moors between Yorkshire & Greater Manchester and the scenery is stunning. We also like the fact it's only 5 Minuets drive into Holmfirth & 15 minuets drive to several historical towns on the Lancashire side. If your looking for peace & tranquility, look no further.

We loved our stay at the Huntsman. It’s a little out of the way, but Peak National Park is breathtaking and the Inn is cute and quaint. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at their pub and all was clean and quiet. We’d love to stay there again.

Fabulous place recently refurbished. Good menu - well priced. Nothing bad to say. Would stay again. Perhaps a bit remote - nothing within walking distance - but that’s why it’s quiet

Although this looks a lovely hotel, I found for over £100 room only was quite expensive. The food was basic, the fish pie had very few tiny pieces of fish and was mainly mash and sauce. Staff were lovely tho. Beautiful surroundings and views.

Lovely setting and building. Staff all very polite. Food was fresh and hot - even close to last food orders on a Sunday. Highly recommend.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. Room was fantastic. Comfortable bed. Only small complaint about the room was the speakers on the TV sounded distorted. Restaurant was brilliant, we both had steak and chips which was 5 star. Breakfast was the same, we both had an English breakfast.

Absolutely lovely place friendly and clean can't praise enough and you must try the restaurant excellent menu and the breakfast was divine. Definitely going back again.

The Huntsman is in a lovely location with fabulous views. The welcome was very friendly and the room was very clean. One of the main reasons we chose The Huntsman was having somewhere to eat in the evenings without having to go out again after a long day. The receptionist booked us a table on our arrival and the meal we had on the first evening was amazing with 2 starters (Bruschetta ang Garlic Mushrooms) followed by Wexford Chicken, and both courses were fresh and extremely tasty. When we paid we were asked to leave a review which I promptly did. As such we had no hesitation booking a table for the following night. Unfortunately, it was not so good. The fish and chips and the three cheese pie both looked and tasted as though they had been reheated and the garden peas were rock hard and the whole meal was a little disappointing, On the Thursday, we decided we would eat a little earlier when we arrived back so sat in the bar area and both ordered the Brewery Tower Burgers. Mine was OK but my wife' burgers were raw in the middle. We complained to a member of staff, who was very apologetic and offered my wife another meal which she refused as was feeling a little queasy by then. The chefs only response he was sorry and he did not know how it had got out of the kitchen!! The breakfast each morning was excellent with a lot of choice. On the whole we enjoyed our stay, but the food was a let down and the episode with the burgers was unforgivable and avoidable. We will not return.
