It's well placed for the airport, on a good public transport route, and has everything you need, with a good food pub just down the road and a grocery store opposite.

On 1st impressions when driving up to the Inn was good, however once pulling into what was an overgrown gravel car park, entering the building was easy as the property’s entrance doors were unlocked! As it was late (12:45am) we knew nobody was on the reception desk and we had our code to get into our room via the excellent locking device! This however was 1 of 2 good things about our room, the other was a comfortable mattress. The room clearly hadn’t been decorated in years or had any maintenance done either! The wife instantly said that the room smelt damp and evidence proved it as there was mould spores growing on the side of the single soft chair. The bathroom was dirty, with black mould in the bath sealant, window sealant and in the tile grouting, which was also disgustingly bad too with a lot of grout missing allowing dirt/grime to build up. There seamed to be some sort of plug sitting on the edge of the bath which also had not been cleaned in a lifetime. Shower head needed a descale too! As you can guess we refrained from using the bath/shower at all costs! braving the toilet & sink as no choice due to the time we had arrived. Going to bed we felt that the sheets were clean but they just clung to your body while trying to sleep. The duvet was not the perfect size either but made do. When wakening I could see more evidence of why the room smelt so damp after opening the large heavy curtains. Large amounts of black mould growing up the walls/windows behind the curtains.

The Inn is in great need of renovation. It’s old and dated, for a £97 per night stay. Room insulation is poor and is quite cold, when the heater is not on. The receptionist I met on arrival, for my overnight stay, was pleasant and quite helpful, however. The room was clean and met an overnight need, as I was there for less then six hours. The television didn’t work. As said, the place is in need of a major revamp.

After what seemed a very tiring drive culminating in passing Gatwick Airport, another 8 minutes to find a very reasonable priced Hotel seemed like nothing. No quibbles about first come, first served in the car park as it seems big enough to accommodate all guests. I had a great welcome and had my bags carried for me into reception and up to my room which I appreciated very much. I was also told there was a garage opposite which had a big forecourt shop for snacks and drinks. I had a double room, recently decorated with sofa and fridge.Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits and bottled water. Great bathroom with shower and a bath! There was everything you needed in the room, even a pedestal fan. The bed was very comfortable and there was a wake up knock in case you'd overslept. Check out the Gatwick Inn hotel. If you just need an overnight with no fancy name and price then try a night or two.My second time and I'll definitely be back.
