Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cumberland

The hotel was very nice and the room was great. We were very comfortable in our room. However, we were on the first floor, which made for a restless night. There was a pizza party for an unruly group of kids in the dining room and the noise was terrible. It went past 10pm and even with ear plugs in my ears, I was woken up by the party noise after finally getting to sleep. My husband called the front desk about it, but apparently, nothing could be done. We paid more than $200 for the room, which was far too much to have an experience like that. We spoke to someone about it at the front desk when we checked out, and she was very apologetic and genuinely sorry for our bad experience. She stated that she would pass it on to the manager so that hotel quiet hours can be enforced in the future. Finally, I'm sorry to say that my husband stated that the coffee was terrible.

It was a wonderful stay. Clean room, very kind and caring staff, and great location for our ride on the train. There is a hiking/biking trail right behind the hotel that overlooks the river. There is also just a short paved walk to get to the railroad station. Would definitely stay again.

Location next to C&O and GAP trails with bike facilities for the riders.

Helpful staff and early check-in was available.
