Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Asheville West near Biltmore

The property was fine, front desk staff excellent. Our problem was the hotel alarm went off early the first morning. Woke us up with the house alarm going off and front desk would not answer. We were panicked and had on pjs. Finally desk answered and said it was smoke alarm. Ok well we could not go back to sleep. So we were in town to move my daughter home and we’re exhausted. Ok stuff happens. But we had a repeat early the next morning as well????? How can you overlook that😩😩😩

I was greeted by Katherine when checking in and she was great. The room was very nice and comfortable for my stay. I let the front desk know that the elevator was causing problems on Saturday and they said it rarely happens. I used it 3 times on Saturday with no problems but on Sunday morning the elevator was out of order. I do feel bad the guests on the 4th floor that were checking out. I would recommend this hotel but if you are looking for perfection and I would look somewhere else.

Only pool is outside - too cold. No hot tub. Breakfast was the exact same every day.

We have stayed at this hotel twice a year for the past few years while we’re in town on business. It has always been great until this stay. When we arrived, the elevator would not work coming down from the 3rd floor…worked going up, just not coming down from that particular floor. We were not told that it wasn’t working when we checked in…but when we asked about it, we were told it was going to be fixed the next day (we had arrived on Sunday). When we got back to the hotel Monday afternoon, the elevator had not been repaired, so I went to the front desk to ask about it. The guy at the desk (not the same guy that checked us in & told us it would be fixed on Monday) knew nothing about the issue with the elevator! He seemed perturbed that no one had informed him. He said he would check into it. They finally got it fixed on Tuesday! In the meantime, we had to use the stairs and my husband was having foot & back issues, making it difficult for him. (Had we known it was going to take 2 days to fix, we would’ve asked to be moved to a different floor where the elevator worked). In addition to that issue, there was a strong cigarette smoke smell on the 3rd floor in the hallway. We reported it, and they came and sprayed air freshener…instead of trying to figure out the source of smoke. I’m thinking the hotel is under different/new management, and it just isn’t the same as it used to be. We won’t be staying there again.

Great variety for breakfast and clean. The hotel is at best three stars. We stayed one night- average amenities and comfort. Nothing on the nice side just average everything. Crowded parking. Close to Biltmore (15 minutes) and close to quick restaurants. The service was not friendly or helpful- we had to holler “hello…anyone here?” to get the front desk guy., Then it’s like the guy had never even heard of Asheville- deer in the headlights and this is where the hotel is located! But for one nights sleep it’s ok.,

Very good breakfast options and quiet. Even had a fire drill at 5:00 in the morning. LOL

Clean, humble, great cyst service and staff here. Awesome clean open spaces rooms. Pool, gym and breakfast were fantastic! Samantha at the front desk was very helpful and very informative about the policies of the hotel(stay). Kind, understanding and knowledgeable. Thanks.

There were a lot of construction trucks and trailers and very few parking places. We had a truck and the spaces were so small we barely fit.

Clean but elevator stopped working

Staff was exceptional and the breakfast was the standard fare. Gym equipment up to date and very clean. I cannot say the same for the bed linen or the mattress covers which are not changed after each guest. Do not look if you do not want to be grossed out. The air conditioning vents are caked with dust and other debris.

Everything was perfect about our stay here from the pleasant, helpful staff to the very clean rooms and delicious breakfast. I would like to have had the option for an indoor jacuzzi and pool is the only thing I missed.

The property for the most part was fine. Staff were great. Although the property looks fairly new, upkeep could be better. Our room had 3 things we noticed: 1. Mold at a corner of the window casing, 2. Mold and water stain near the floor at the end of the tub - the grab bar interferes with the curtain, so some leakage is inevitable, 3. A noticeable stain 4" diameter on the floor between the corner of the bed and the TV.

There was a heavy cigarette smell in the bathroom and the room. I think the previous guest was smoking inside the room.

By the exterior it looked to be a really nice newer hotel. However once inside you could tell it was in need of quite a few renovations. The hall carpets were in need of a deep clean they were dirty looking and musty smelling, the elevator reeked of cigarettes and about every surface in the halls and elevator were fingerprinted and smeared just dirty looking. There were empty liquor bottles sitting on a table in the hall by the elevator. The room was only maybe fair for cleanliness. The walls around the sink needed to be wiped down as they had coffee or something splashed on them. the tub grout and caulking was dark and stained in places and needed to be removed and recaulked the exhaust fan wall sensor was falling off the wall in the bathroom. You could see that the whole place just wasn’t well taken care of. Not like other places we have stayed in Asheville before. Probably won’t stay in this particular hotel again.

Reasonable for the cost. Room could’ve been cleaner (hair in bathroom and cobwebs on lamp shades) but overall ok.

My partner and I received several bug bites in bed while we were there. A couple of them weren't noticed until we arrived home the next day. We should have complained while there, but instead we just left very early in the morning. Maybe the management will go and check that room and mattress/pillows for bugs. It probably would have been a nice place except for our itches and welts from bites!

Overall was very good. Minor downside was the toilet rocked, so it was not set well. Coffee was lukewarm each morning.

Definitely a little dated but was fine for a night. Shower didn’t have much water pressure. Bathroom was a bit small for multiple people getting ready.

The hotel room was clean and pleasant but the walls were paper thin. We heard everything all night long. Bring ear plugs if you stay here!

Really excellent ... great room and stay. Breakfast good ... not just a continental breakfast. Only issue was internet was a bit slow.

The property was nice and clean, the staff was not as friendly as their property a few miles away. My biggest problem was the herd of elephants running loose on the floor above me, it was a terrible nights rest and the laundry area was ok…

Hot water issues with shower. Had to take 2 cold showers. Everything is else decent.

The property is just dated and needs a refresh. There’s peeling paint, drywall holes, caulking coming loose. It does look like there were some attempts to fix things but what I saw was shoddy drywall repairs, caulking that looked like a 10 year old had gotten his dad’s caulk gun and went to work. Some places had been painted over but on the edges, you still see the old paint underneath. It was especially obvious on the door frame where they painted black over white but didn’t paint all the way to the edges. Just a poor look and it feels old and neglected. We won’t be back.

Not very sound proof between floors or room but room very comfortable and clean.

When I checked in and got to "my" room, there were people already in the room. They then tried to give me a room that someone else was leaving due to problems with that room. They had no other rooms available.

We arrived late (almost 10pm) the front desk guy was super friendly and I asked if they had any milk bc I forgot to bring some and he went and got me some out the breakfast room so I’d have some for my toddler. The room was super clean. Nice hotel. Def recommend

Stayed 5 nights and didn’t experience any problems or issues. Staff was very helpful, friendly and courteous.

The young woman serving the breakfast area provided exemplary service. The entire area was clean, the breakfast options were replenished in a timely manner, and our hostess was pleasant. We have stayed at this particular hotel on several occasions and find it very comfortable with a staff that is friendly and eager to accommodate the guests. On this stay, however, we sensed a difference in the front desk personnel. While they weren't unfriendly, they did not go out of their way to be personable. We felt no warmth or sincerity in their interactions. They seemed to put forth the minimal effort required but no more. For example, we asked the front desk clerk "What time is checkout? The young man looked up from his iphone appearing to be slightly disturbed by our inquiry, and pointed to a sign on the side wall that we had not noticed. The sign announced checkout is at 11 am. I suppose the lesson is that if you have enough signage, you don't need people?!!? When we did check out, our conversation with the desk was terse and perfunctory. There were no pleasantries like, "Have a nice day" or "Come back soon," or "Thank you." We will be back and I'm certain that things will return to the level of customer service that we have come to expect.

Fire alarm went off at 4:30am. Staff was not prepared. Fire department was not called for over 15 minutes. No instructions to guests on what to do. People still in their rooms, others standing in their doorways, others gathered in lobby, and still others waiting outside. It was chaotic! Would not recommend staying here.

Front desk rude. Booked at the same time as my sister and we both booked king rooms. Hers was $8 cheaper than mine. Made no sense at all.

Perfect location for my trip to the Biltmore the following day.

We booked this hotel as part of a longer road trip and were very pleased with the accommodations. The hotel was in a nice area with several restaurants in close vicinity. The room was clean and comfortable with a very nice tv, but a little cramped for a family of four + luggage. Rich at the front desk was super friendly and made the check in process a breeze!

Property was clean. Rooms were clean too. Breakfast was hot and good choices. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Area felt safe too. 10 minutes to drive to Asheville Visitor Center

Nice property, reasonably close to downtown Ashville as well as the Biltmore Estate.

Nice hotel overall. Average breakfast. Felt relatively safe but as we exited to approach the property we observed 1 beggar with sign and 2 more exiting woods. Checked out after 1 night stay and while leaving property observed Sheriff’s car near woods across the street investigating homeless people bathing in the creek. More of an Asheville problem than the hotel.

No so much close places to go for eat, or not feeling safe for walking farther for looking for food place

Area was not as described. Homeless and vagrants all over property. When asking about this we were essentially laughed at. Beds aren’t queen as described in listing they are full. Pretty outdated making areas look dingy. Ultimately felt unsafe and left to stay elsewhere.

Clean, modern, close to freeway, easy access

Right off the freeway with multiple food options close though walking is a little difficult as no sidewalks. Older hotel which is showing her age and could use updating. Nice breakfast and staff

Unfortunately, there were issues with the water and it wasn't drinkable. No coffee in the morning and no real breakfast. We should receive some refund.

This place was super clean and the view of the mountains was excellent! Quiet place and then the breakfast just put it over the top! The food was tasty and warm and plenty to choose from. I would definitly stay here again and again!

The first room I had, the drain in the shower wasn't working properly. Second room had a burned out light buld in the light on the night stand. Bathroom ceiling had a big patch over the toilet that was never repaired properly. Breakfast was limited to prepackaged food items and waffles due to water restrictions but nothing posted at the front desk when I checked in. No offers of complimentary water to rinse your mouth after brushing my teeth.

Terrible experience, dont waste your money here. The website (both hotels.com and the country inn) didnt state that the hotel was on a boil watch. They shut down the water heater and didnt offer the continental breakfast, all also not stated anywhere until you actually arrive and check-in. The staff didnt do anything with the special request I asked, and even though the hotel was on a boil watch (without anyway to boil the water !!) they still charged for bottled water and didnt offer any free drinkable water ! After talking to the front desk, they said that the manager was alerted and given my number but I havent heard anything back and its been 4 days. I hope I will get atleast SOME of my money back, as this hotel was a HUGE waste of time and money. If only they stated they didnt have clean or hot water, and werent offering their breakfast. The rooms cleanliness looked haft assed, and they only offer housekeeping on the third night. Never coming back, still need to speak with some type of management as this was a disaster.

Good bed, good shower, great breakfast. These are the things that matter to us in a hotel, and they were excellent on all three items.

This hotel isn't well maintained. The whole place smells a bit old and smoky. The bathroom has visible poorly done chalks etc. The breakfast is not appetizing at all - the scrambled eggs was crumbly and poorly made, the french toast was thin and not sure if they were grilled or not.

The staff that checked us in upon arrival were great. The room was nice and clean until you went into the bathroom. Urine on the floor in front of the toilet. Once I cleaned the bathroom it was fine. The breakfast area is crammed with tables that make it hard to get around. This mornings breakfast was less than appealing. We were there at opening time and the food was cold. Cold eggs are not so good in our book.
