Isleview Motel and Cottages

A very pleasant stay in a convenient location. Owners are friendly and welcoming, and have updated the facility.

We stayed in the smallest room, but the bed was comfortable and we had enough storage space for our belongings. Michael promptly and kindly addressed our requests. The coffee provided in the office was delicious. Acadia Park was truly fantastic, and if we visit again, we would consider staying here.

We stayed in one of the cozy, utilitarian cottages with our dog. The kitchenette is outfitted with a fridge, coffeemaker, microwave and toaster. Plastic utensil sets are available in the office (as well as free hot beverages). We forgot to bring any plates or bowls, so were stuck buying some at a nearby market. The bathroom is a bit tight but functional, with a decent shower, and good hot water supply. If you are tall, be aware that the ceiling in our cottage was maybe 6'8". The small space heater gave off plenty of heat for the 45 degree nights during our stay. The property has a nice green area in front with picnic tables, gas grill and pet refuse station, all very helpful. However, the road with vehicles humming by at 45 mph is quite close, and you will hear vehicle noise in your cottage, including early in the morning. Great proximity to Acadia, many places to eat nearby, and for other needs, Ellsworth is just 15 minutes away. Finally, the staff are super nice and helpful. We would book here again, but bring a few more kitchen items with us.

We were looking for an inexpensive room somewhere near Bar Harbor, ME. This place fit our needs. We were in an upper room. It had a good bed, the A/C worked great, its own bathroom and was very clean. In the morning we would walk about ½ mile to the Bar Harbor free shuttle service. The shuttles took you just about anywhere you would like to go. We went to Acadia National Park and hiked a few days. We also went into town and went to several shops. We also enjoyed breakfast and dinner in town.

We had a great stay. Cute cottage, very clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Close to everything we wanted to do.

I am a motel convert after staying at Isleview! Very close to Bar Harbor, but not so close that you’re dealing with a constant stream of tourists. It’s quiet at night, and the rooms are super clean, and very comfortable. We spent 4 nights here, and would definitely go back. Anything you want to do within Acadia is a convenient driving distance away. Bar Harbor and the surrounding towns exist around Acadia, so anywhere you pick to stay will still require a drive of some sort. We were within 20 min of everything we wanted to do. Sabrina and Michael’s dining recommendations are a must-follow as well. We loved Island Takeout!

I am traveling cross country in a van and I needed a solid nights sleep in a regular bed. So I booked Isleview cottage #3, which was super cute and clean and nicely decorated in Maine charm. I enjiyed crisp clean bedding, a comfortable bed, a soft top blanket, and several confortable pillows of varying firmness. The windows had blackout curtains, so between that and my ear plugs, I slept like a baby uninterupted by light or the sounds of road traffic until 9AM the next morning. Side note: The owners helped me very kindly, very politely, very diplomatically when I called them out of great frustration because I could not locate a checkin office. I was quite tired from traveling and after a short conversation (and even arguing on my part), I finally understood from Michael and his wife that the problem was that I was aimply parked at the WRONG motel. There is another place with a similar name right near their motel. The owners were very kind, very understanding. I really appreciated it because they took the brunt of my frustration in stride. Apparently this happens quite a bit and people confuse ISLEVIEW (white), which is where I wanted to stay, with Island View Motel (red), which is a couple driveways away. They were very welcoming and friendly and I really appreciated it and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I bought a souvenir plush throw blanket from them similar to the one on my bed when I checked out the next morning. I would stay here again. And highly recommend to others.

When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who gave us a warm welcome including 2 local root beers. The room was very comfortable. Although close to the Highway the traffic sounds were subdued during hours of sleep. If we went back to the area we would definitely stay there again.

Accommodating/Helpful Staff, Clean Room, Quaint Spot

When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who gave us a warm welcome including 2 local root beers. The room was very comfortable. Although close to the Highway the traffic sounds were subdued during hours of sleep. If we went back to the area we would definitely stay there again.

The cottage we stayed in was very well kept. The staff is really nice and accommodating having the initiative to help with what you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible

At first I was afraid the location would be too far away from fun stuff in Bar Harbor, but once we got to Maine we realized it’s the perfect location near Acadia, a grocery store and places to eat (and actually we spent very little time in the town of Bar Harbor as it was crowded and chaotic there). The family running the cottages was very kind. Totally recommended.
