Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The room we were in was renovated not long ago and was really nice and spacious. The only thing I would have liked was a microwave in the room. There is one in the lobby but if I want a hot tea at 10 pm, I don't want to go to the lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is the best I've ever had. There is such a large assortment of food which you don't get at any other hotel. The hotel is located around so many shops and restaurants and all are walkable. You could also walk to the town center (roughly a 15 minute walk) where there are alot of shops and restaurants as well. All in all, this was a great place to stay and I'd highly recommend it.

Excellent modern bathroom in 414. Clean everywhere. Quiet AC unit that kept us very cool in 98 degree heat. Plenty of secure parking. 15 minute walk to heart of downtown. Big clean outdoor pool.

Hotel is nice and in a great location. Our room was clean and spacious. Parking is plentiful and convenient. Not a big fan of exterior doors to the room as they tend to let in bugs, but such is the design of the building. Pool looked clean and well-maintained. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The 1836 Inn is perfectly located in the center of town. Baltimore Street has many tourist attractions and dining options are walkable. It is a dog friendly destination, and I traveled with my dog. There is a $25 per night fee for a dog, which is normal. The rooms are updated and comfortable. It is very quiet, relaxing, and perfect for travelers of any age. Families, seniors, dogs, all will enjoy this wonderful property. Don't hesitate to book the 1836 Inn. Great time guaranteed!

Friendly staff, ample parking, and centrally located and walkable to many local restaurants, shops, and businesses. Just down the street from the main Gettysburg Battlegrounds, monuments, and museums. We'll definitely stay here again!

Dirty dank room that we had to wait until 3/30 to check into. Hairs in tub and bathroom, not well vacuumed, at least someone flushed to toilet before we arrived. Had to beg at front desk for soap, none in room. Ice dispenser smelled and looked moldy, so we passed on that. Etc etc etc

It was ok. The room was very muggy. Found an old string cheese rapper in the bed with half of the cheese still in it which makes me think the linens were not changed. Completely grossed me out. Hair in the baseboards in the bathroom was nasty. Water pressure in the shower was AWFUL. Location was great and breakfast was good with many options. One and done for sure.

We were pushed out of breakfast before we were done by an unruley young girl so the workers could sit & eat...seriously??? Big yellow stains all over our blankets...probobly urine from the animals they allow! Check room 414! Always stayed here but place went down hill bad! Last stay here

The front desk people were very friendly, convenient to tours. My first night I found crumbs in the one bed, I called the front desk and reported it. The front desk left a note for housekeeping. When we went back to the room I pulled the bed covers back, and the crumbs were still there. I reported it upon checkout. I feel that I shouldn't have paid that amount for a dirty bed.

If your room is facing the front of the building you’ll hear all the traffic noise. The air conditioner was loud so it muffled some of it. It’s a little tired looking but it is clean. The beds weren’t very comfortable. It could really use new ones. The hotel breakfast was the typical hotel breakfast. Nothing special. The maid service was very good.

The room was ok, but the entrances are on the outside--you take the elevator, go outside to an outdoor walkway, and proceed to your room. The weather was ok when we were there, but that would be a negative during rain or cold, and walking along a pathway with a railing and a large drop would be uncomfortable if you were infirm in any way

This property was the perfect place to be able to walk to almost everything we wanted to do in Gettysburg. Our room was on the back side which made it very quiet. The breakfast each morning had a lot of options. Great place to stay if visiting the area.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay at 1863. The room ,and bathroom were very clean but dated. a/c was loud but that was good because it drowned out the traffic noise. 4th floor gave us a nice vantage point on the busy street below......

Overall a very nice place. Friendly staff. Clean. Nice breakfast options. Convenient location, within walking distance of restaurants and stores. The hotel layout is a bit weird, and requires alot ups/downs in the elevator or stairs to get to and from your room to the lobby or parking lot, so I would keep that in mind for anyone with mobility issues. The wifi didn't work from our room and only worked in the lobby area for us. However, these were just minor hiccups, I would definitely stay again.

While the room had some new finishes, the facility still shows its age. The staff was on the phone and didn’t acknowledge us at all until she was done, and I’ve had much better check in experiences with stall that were nice and helpful.

If you want a quiet night's sleep, book the poolside rooms. Although we liked the views, we didn't like all the loud motorcycles on the main road until well into the night. The rooms were clean, the staff extremely friendly and welcoming, the full breakfast was delicious, and convenient to walk or drive to shops, museums, restaurants, etc. We plan on staying here again (but poolside) and recommended it to friends. 5 stars

Breakfast bar was very good, for an included breakfast buffet. Eggs, egg patties, ham, sausage, and waffles. Night staffing was unacceptable. Could not get extra pillows. Counter employee said he was the only employee there, and housekeeping left at 3pm. How hard is it to get a pillow? The room cleanliness also left a lot to be desired. Hair all over the bathroom.

We reserved this hotel and didn't realize its more of a motel. We also needed a cot but they didnt have any. They actually asked us to go to Walmart for an air mattress. We wanted to cancel our reservation which was made last minute and they declined. All they needed was to give approval and the mgr was not nice. They were not friendly at all. The only staff friendly was young girl and boy working. We were not all nasty. Better customer service would of helped. We will definitely not be going back with or without needing a cot.

From check in to check out, our stay was very nice. Everyone we spoke with who were staff were kind and courteous. The entire facility was very clean. The room was very clean and had plenty of amenities. The breakfast was outstanding and offered many choices. Parking was great. Close to everything. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and already decided hat anytime we visit Gettysburg, this is our place to stay.

The hotel is located in the ideal spot. You can walk to the shops in the historic district, and also walk directly to the battlefields. Park your car at the hotel, walk to Cemetery Hill, Culps Hill, cut through the National Cemetery and experience walking the fields of Pickett’s Charge. Return to the immaculate hotel, swim in the giant pool, and enjoy the enormous buffet breakfast.

Location, Location, Location. Right at the beginning of Steinwehr and in a perfect part of Baltimore Street. So many restaurants shops and more within easy walking distance, Jenny Wade nearly attached to the building, Gettysburg Tour Center in the same parking lot. Staff were friendly and helpful, Brwakfast being included was a huhe perk as well, so many positives its hard to list them all. 2 things you will want to be aware of during your stay, if you need quiet to sleep dont choose to stay in the front of the building as many vehicles come through the area to include many heavy trucks you will hear and feel them go by. Also as of 2024 the 4th and 5th floors have not been fully renovated, so you may get some dated rooms. But for the shear location and breakfast positives our slightly dated room was no issue at all.

The staff was very professional and friendly. The room, floors, beds, and bathroom were very clean. The air conditioning worked well and was definitely needed as outside daytime temperature was in the mid-90s for July 5-7. There was no fan in the bathroom which resulted in the mirror being foggy after showers. The pool was nice and enjoyed by those staying there (although we brought no swimwear to be able to use it). There was ample parking and the lot appeared to be full each evening. The complimentary breakfast had a wide selection to choose from, but the taste of everything (except coffee) was bland and disappointing and we skipped it after the first morning experience.

Very clean. The included morning breakfast was great, with so many choices of food items. This was not your typical Continental Breakfast. If you can't find something to eat for breakfast here, you're not looking! The staff was helpful and kind. The next time we visit Gettysburg, we'll definitely be staying here.
