Motel 6-San Diego, CA - Downtown

I took one look at the room and left. There no air conditioning for a start. There was just a fan in the wall that was Extremeley loud. I didn’t even bother to get my 2 day stay money return to me.

Checking in was no issue until the following morning when my sister in law arrived; I was told when I checked in (multiple times, in front of a manager) that she would just need to show an ID, provide my name and room number to get keys. I asked if I needed to leave her name as I would not be on the property and was told that was not necessary. Only to find out the following morning she had to sit in the courtyard for 2 hours until I was out of a meeting and had to confirm with whoever was checking her in. I was told that whoever checked me in must have been new and in training and when I told her that was not the case she continued to insist that they must have been new. That unfortunately left a very bad taste in my mouth and there was not anything she did to seem apologetic or empathetic. The room itself was comfortable and we appreciated that there was an interior courtyard to be able to let her dog use the bathroom and that the front doors were locked. It is close to the airport which was the reason we booked here; not sure that I would rebook.

Everything was great Just know that you're going to pay $20 a night for parking my partner also brought her a ride so that's an extra 40 bucks just so you know and it's not guaranteed if you take off that your spot is there other than that everything was fine

The staff was super nice. Parking was easy and affordable. Our room was great for what it was. I was guest of the day and got upgraded to a corner room. The room was basic but did the job. There was a bed, it was pretty comfortable. Make sure to bring your own bathroom hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They did supply plenty of towels as well as bars of soap. We did have a minor leak, but we think it was condensation. We informed the front desk at check out and the lady was extremely nice and said she would get maintance to look at it before the next booking. Checking in was super easy and quick. Honestly not a bad location either. Walking distance to little Italy and to the water. Will most likely stay here again. The best Motel 6 I have stayed in.
