Good location, friendly staff, room was huge, well presented, few handy places to eat/shop on site, all in all, good experience for me.

The room was dirty and in very poor repair. The bed felt damp and there were dirty marks all over the bathroom walls. The man on reception was very helpful but that was the only bright spot of this stay. I travelled with my husband and two adult children and was told when booking I had to have two separate rooms. Upon arrival we went to my children’s room and found four beds made up indicating that we had spent nearly £69 for an extra room that we hadn’t needed. Mine and my husband’s room had no towels and looked like it hadn’t been set up for anyone to stay. The only facilities for food were in the service station next door which had only a Costa and Greggs for breakfast. Thankfully we only needed to be there for one evening.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, I’m afraid there won’t be a third. Whilst the location is convenient for Winchester and the staff are friendly, the room was pretty grim. The “chain” on the door in my room was broken and the only additional security was a lock you could turn from the inside. The bathroom was the worst bit, with the sink not draining due to a massive hairball in the plug hole, which, when you brushed your teeth filled the sink with hairy water that then stayed in the sink when it finally drained away. The room also smelt like it hadn’t been aired out in a very long time. Not the nicest hotel given the price you’re paying per night.

The whole room smelt of wet dog and the bath was rusty/ every bit of furniture was damage and the bedside lights looked like they were removed from a skip. Was not impressed at all, only stayed in room for 6 hours so got on with it. Not overly pleased.
