Booked 2 rooms 6 months in advance for a bucket list trip for my son. The week of arrival called and told overbooked Saturday and displaced to their sister property at no expense or free to cancel when all hotels in that area were booked or far more expensive now. The hotel displaced to was 10 miles away. didn't have the reservation documented well, had us 4 floors apart and then after an hour of sorting rectified. Rooms were in poor condition, smell that was indicating clean. a sink drain that was plugged and so much more. Needless to say the bucket list trip was less than intended and sure that a 2 night booking x 2 rooms booked 6 months in advance wasn't the booking to be bumped. Shame on ownership for thinking this was acceptable and seemed all the Expedia bookings are the ones bumped so should be considered by the site also. When you book that far in advance the expectation is all is secure and in place for your trip and not to scramble 5 days out and have to settle for an extremely poor alternative with no conversation to see if this is even an option. No value provided for booking early or a customer with 2 rooms for 2 nights and seemed for interested in a single night at a larger rack rate which is a short term thinking solution Not sure I will book an IHG or Holiday again after this experience
