We stay here often for one night stays. We’re expats living in Mexico and our home is not close to town. We stay for shopping trips or prior to airport departures. The hotel is basic by international standards, however, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The self parking is great, many good walkable restaurants and stores. Downside is no elevators with three stories. Pool is nice, great little restaurant for included breakfast.

This hotel was charming and in a good location. The supermarket across the street was convenient for beverages and also has some fast dining options. The breakfast was nice and included juice and coffee. The only thing that was not as described was the presence of a hot tub . The swimming pool was very cold, so it was hard to be in it for long.

We booked a room with kitchen and refrigerator. We were given room 508 which only had a mini fridge. We could hardly fit a few bottles of water. The space for the full size fridge was empty just vacant space. The kitchen had nothing! No plates no utensils no glasses. We had to beg for two plates two forks and and two cereal bowls and had to buy knives and a frying pan from Walmart. The towels were so dirty , again I had to go buy from Walmart. Big mistake to choose this place. The only one that ever smiled was the cleaning lady every one else hardly showed any interest or cared. The so called breakfast is awful except for the coffee. Same overcooked scrambled eggs served cold, a bowl of granola with 3-4 tablespoons in it. There is massive construction and noise and dust a few meters away from the pool. Never had such a bad experience and we come to Baja a lot.

We really enjoyed the breakfast included with the room. It had nice traditional Mexican options as well as pancakes etc. We were a bit dissatisfied that there was nothing in the kitchenette to cook or eat with. Seemed pointless to have paid extra for the kitchenette if we could not even use it but there were many dining options nearby. The pool was also being redone when we were there and we weren't made aware of this at the time of booking and was one main reason for us booking there but I think that's not the fault of the hotel to tell us as we had booked through Expedia. Plus side is that they will now have a beautiful new pool. So if travelling soon call ahead to make sure it's completed if you want a pool. We would definitely stay here again. We chose this location/hotel for the secure parking and easy to find from the airport after dark. Staying downtown the parking can be more challenging and the streets a bit more confusing after dark.

The place was fine, it was a budget option just off the beach. So you have an informed decision: - no view of anything other than the mini mall next door - pool (as most were) is not heated so it's pretty chilly - included breakfast was good (quite a few options) - While there was a kitchen (fridge, burners, microwave, sink), there wasn't cutlery, dishes, glasses or pots/pans so it was useless - maybe you have to ask for this stuff? We didn't bother - There were two safes, neither worked - There is no tag to put on the door asking for privacy

Great location, easy parking, great pool, awesome internet. Breakfast was great. The staff is very friendly and professional. Things to improve.. We had a suite with kitchen not a single utensil, pan, glassware, we were exhausted to ask for anything but makes no sense to have nothing. The breakfast coupon to be collected each morning at the reception makes no sense whatsoever, what a waste of our time. Just give them out at check in. Excellent for a place to sleep and rest after hitting the waves, would stay here again.

Pretty solid basic hotel. Decent free breakfast, just head to the office for a ticket before you go. Ac works great, wifi was fast. Pool is good with covered seating, a little chilly in the winter perhaps. My second stay in three months, so that must tell you something.

Overall stay was pretty good. The walls are very thin so we could hear all the other doors slamming in the complex, and traffic was extremely loud. Breakfast is average for what you’d get out of a hotel. Pool is good, with chairs around for sun tanning. We did see quite a few of very small ant like bugs throughout the room, but not so much that we were concerned. Don’t know that we’d be eager to book again, but would recommend considering it if the price fits your budget.

Ok so it’s a budget hotel, which I expected. I didn’t expect it to be perfect as I was staying one night and paying for a three star place at best. There are a few things that all hotels should have, hot water and a clean room. I have traveled the world on business and pleasure so my expectations were fully aligned. The hotel was certainly dated, which for the price was expected. The room was mostly clean, the bathroom was a little questionable from a cleanly standpoint. Seemed like they just put new towels in the room from the last guest. The shower didn’t have hot water for about 10 mins and water pressure was really weak. As a full time traveler living on a sailboat, when I say the water pressure is weak I mean it. Pros: 1) The price was great, not the cheapest in Cabo but location was good. 2) No signs if bugs 3) Room had a fridge and microwave Cons 1) No hot water and water pressure was so bad I wondered if my unit had an issue. 2) Went for free continental breakfast (just wanted a coffee) and as I walked in was greeted that I needed a ticket. She was rude and told me I had to leave. They don’t mention it when I checked in, or why didn’t they just give it to me. I just left as I figured if they were that rude it couldn’t be that good anyway. Asked about ticket when I checked out and they asked if I would like one :) Poor experience for sure. 3) Room was really dated, lots of songs, paint coming off walls, ceiling tiles ajar.

The area was easy for transport, breakfast was great! The pool was unfiltered & ice cold! Housekeeping only came twice for a 8 day stay. Even made the bed with a sheet with blood on it!!! Linen was all ripped & seemed dirty. Very worn towels. We were supposed to be in a king bed, but was put in a double, yet the hotel argues it was a king. I know the difference as I have a king at home

El personal es muy amable, el restaurante pequeño, pero, es agradable y rico. El cuarto que me asignaron contaba con amenidades, incluyendo pelos en la ropa de la cama, eso me hizo cuestionar ¿lavaran las sábanas, cobija y toallas?, las cortinas tambien estaban sucias , y no solo de la orilla que tiene contacto con el piso…una habitación amplia, con clima, cocineta, frigobar, etc.

El hotel se encuentra en una buena área, cerca de una plaza comercial y de zonas para comer, buen precio y calidad aceptable, sin embargo, están construyendo a un lado del hotel y toda la noche me fue difícil dormir, en cuanto a la limpieza, había hormigas en el baño.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Great king mattress, great air conditioner (quiet), plus a kitchenette. This hotel is where the hotel zone begins and across the street from a huge grocery store that includes a food court.

There was never hot water. The bed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was aways the same thing, and never expect it to be hot or even warm. The pool was freezing cold, but nice to lounge around in the afternoon. Very nice to have a grocery store across the street, Though they may have some English speaking channels on tv but no. Can’t say it was a total bust but a very low class facility for the price I paid for the week,

Great hotel location but the air conditioner in the room wasn't working initially yet the staff was attentive. Also they need to clean up a bit of the landscaping. Great room size for the price with a nice dinner but they need a TV in that common dinner area. Also WiFi needs to improve.

Room is dated, curtains are dirty / permit light through, shower curtain smelled bad, no lamp or soft lighting at bed. For the price you pay, rooms need an update. Positives: very friendly staff, good location (beach walking distance and supermarket across the street), warm pool, nice breakfast, clean linens, and bed was very comfortable.

The breakfast coupon to be collected each morning at the reception makes no sense whatsoever, what a waste of our time. Just give them out at check in. Excellent for a place to sleep and rest after hitting the waves, would stay here again.

This is a cute and cute boutique hotel. The staff is amazing, especially Emilio! The area is walkable and the beach is about 10 minutes away. There is a grocery store and Bistro , La Comer across the street, and several restaurants as well. The hotel is very dated, but clean and the television works. The pool is great with chairs and a covered area. I will definitely stay here again

We were very disappointed in this property. Although the room was very big, it was incredibly dark and very outdated. It felt very depressing to be in the room. It's also a long walk to get to the beach or art district. If you don't have a car, you will feel very isolated. We changed to another hotel. The people working at the hotel are lovely though.

A pesar de que el hotel esta muy bien ubicado, el trato que recibi por parte del personal fue terrible.. de entrada me volvieron a cargar lo que yo ya habia pagado, pedi una extension de mi estancia dias antes de mi llegada e incluso cuando hice mi checkin me confirmaron que ya estaba la extension.. un dia antes de mi partida me avisan que no me habian cobrado las noches extras.. Ademas parte del staff fue muy gosero, sin la menor empatia y atencion al cliente.

We’re from the USA and have a home about one hours drive north from San Jose del Cabo. We like staying at the Santa Maria when we want to have a few days in town without the drive home. The staff is friendly, rooms are large and clean. The hotel is basic by American standards when traveling to a resort area, but the trade off for economy and comfort are equal. The Secritos restaurant is great for breakfast, which the room rate oftenincludes, making the value even greater.

The staffs here are very nice and friendly especially the house keeping manager Rosalba. She is smiles all the time, kind and very helpful with her team members. The hotel manager Emilio is very helpful too. If we need help, he's happy to help us solve the problem. I enjoyed my stay here.

Front service was bad. The room i was given was dirty. Beds had hairs and restroom was dirty as well. I went to request another room and 2 ladies at the front gave me a bad look as if I was lying. I told them I had pictures if they needed proof. They gave me another room but with a really bad attitude. The breakfast was good though. Over all the hotel is ok.

We have stayed at Santa Maria three times now, and have another night stay planned. It is an older hotel, well worn in a lot of ways but is clean and suites most of our needs. The close proximity to transportation and restaurants works well for our trips and the included breakfasts work for us too. This time while booking our trip I accidentally said there was only one guest. I emailed the hotel to correct this, however when we arrived they told us we would have to pay for one of the breakfasts, even though they acknowledged that we had corrected the original mistake. This seemed odd and uncomfortable and an unusual place to make a stand. The included breakfasts are one of the reasons we choose this hotel. There is also a large construction project next door. People should be aware of this.

El personal a nuestra llegada fue poco cortés e hicieron el proceso de check-in fue muy tardado. Te hacen regresar a lobby todos los días por los tickets para el desayuno. The hotel is basic by international standards, however, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The self parking is great, many good walkable restaurants and stores. Downside is no elevators with three stories. Pool is nice, great little restaurant for included breakfast.

This hotel was charming and in a good location. The supermarket across the street was convenient for beverages and also has some fast dining options. The breakfast was nice and included juice and coffee. The only thing that was not as described was the presence of a hot tub . The swimming pool was very cold, so it was hard to be in it for long.

We really enjoyed the breakfast included with the room. It had nice traditional Mexican options as well as pancakes etc. We were a bit dissatisfied that there was nothing in the kitchenette to cook or eat with. Seemed pointless to have paid extra for the kitchenette if we could not even use it but there were many dining options nearby. The pool was also being redone when we were there and we weren't made aware of this at the time of booking and was one main reason for us booking there but I think that's not the fault of the hotel to tell us as we had booked through Expedia. Plus side is that they will now have a beautiful new pool. So if travelling soon call ahead to make sure it's completed if you want a pool. We would definitely stay here again. We chose this location/hotel for the secure parking and easy to find from the airport after dark. Staying downtown the parking can be more challenging and the streets a bit more confusing after dark.

Nice stay, but cleaning can be improved a little... It is not too bad though. I liked the area, the pool, the staff and the breakfast. Location is great too. Beach is about 10 minutes walk. You cannot swim in the largest beaches in San Jose del Cabo, but it is great to walk there. I would stay again in this hotel.

There was never hot water. The bed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was aways the same thing, and never expect it to be hot or even warm. The pool was freezing cold, but nice to lounge around in the afternoon. Very nice to have a grocery store across the street, Though they may have some English speaking channels on tv but no. Hotel Santa Maria is a great budget option for being close to the action but not paying a ton for the privilege. The beach is a 10 minute walk. The brand new Al Comer super market complex is just across the street and has more than you will ever need. There are numerous small restaurants within a three minute walk. The pool is clean spacious and welcoming. Overall a good deal. My only criticism would be that screens on the patio doors would be an improvement and the coffee at the breakfast room needs an upgrade.
