Hôtel de France Gare de Lyon Bastille

The hotel was very nice. The breakfast was fresh and easy to access. The room was clean and I appreciated the closet, night stands that allowed for easy phone charging and the AC worked wonderfully. I did have an issue where there was not an additional toilet paper roll and our roll was extremely small when we arrived. Other than that no issues. I do want to mention that the staff was very accommodating and helpful.

The breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from. My room was perfect and clean.

It was hot in our room, and it was difficult to adjust the temp setting. We ended up leaving our window open at night to feel cooler. Downside was the noise outside. The hotel is right next to a movie theatre and a busy street so expect a lot of activity. Room size is typical of Paris - small but functional. Picked this hotel because of its proximity to Gare de Lyon where we needed to take an early train ride to Switzerland. It was a good 5-10 min walk. Also close to a number of restaurants (recommending Quai 33), pharmacy and grocery store.

Breakfast is the same and cold even the scrambled eggs. House keeping didn’t refilled the coffe/tea and didn’t change towels the 2nd day and cleaned our room when we didn’t ask for housekeeping. Some one knocked out door many times one night and trying to open it, but answer nothing when asked who’s out there. It was about 7:40-50 pm, the staff couldn’t find anything which was strange. Location is good, but will not recommend.
