YAYS Amsterdam Maritime by Numa

It was a great spot BUT how could you possibly expect us to carry our 100kg of luggage up a five tier staircase when the lift is broken. You knew this, you put no processes in place, we had to beg for assistance. You put your head in the sand when we asked for help. Everything else was great, this was ridiculous and for the full length of our stay. UNACCEPTABLE- you offered no advice or remedy - would you like a photo of the stairwell? We will be requesting compensation

Contrairement à ce qui est indiqué sur Expedia et sur le site internet du YAYS Maritime Amsterdam (maintenant Numa), il n'y a pas de climatisation. Seules deux fenêtres en hauteur et s'ouvrant de quelques centimètres étaient prévues pour faire circuler l'air ou rafraîchir le logement. Dans l'appartement que nous avions, l'une d'elles ne s'ouvrait pas et la chaleur était très incommodante. Le logement est bien situé et comprend les commodités nécessaires. Transport en commun facilement accessible, épicerie tout près.

O quarto é impecável! Tudo muito lindo, limpo e organizado! Me senti em casa! A localização é ótima, conseguimos ir a pé para cidade e também conseguimos usartransporte público, pois há vários pontos próximos. O quarto possui camas muito confortáveis. Cozinha maravilhosa e ainda com cápsulas de café, leite e açúcar cortesia. Os utensílios foram o suficiente! Além de contar com uma máquina de lava louças. O banheiro sempre com água quente e ten secador de cabelo. O atendimento apesar de ser online e não ter recepção 24h achei muito bom, sempre responderam rapidamente as nossas dúvidas. O armário de guardar malas para nós foi sensacional, mesmo depois do check out deixamos nossas malas nesse armário com senha o que ajudou muito. Amamos tudo!

The room was nice and clean and comfortable. The only thing we notes is a wet dog smell in the hallway's on the 2nd flood where our room was. There is lockers available if you arrive before check-in time and we appreciated that. The staff was friendly. We were not disappointed with our stay ad would recommend it to a friend.

No air-conditioning in lower floor units. Advertised as air-conditioned (only top floor had air-conditioning). Not correctly advertised. Also, elevator was not working during entire stay of 4 days.

Gli appartamenti sono abbastanza nuovi e per questo abbastanza confortevoli, il grande neo degli alloggi al piano terra (piano mezzanino) è che si può aprire solo una porzione minuscola di finestra che non consente un gran ricambio d'aria. Se si capita in un agosto particolarmente caldo come questo, l'alloggio è un vero forno e non c'è aria condizionata, ma solo due ventilatori piuttosto potenti ma davvero rumorosi. In compenso il personale è davvero cordiale e accogliente, molto disponibile a risolvere (per quanto possibile) tutti i problemi.

The hotel itself was fairly clean but no housekeeping during the day. Easy to take a bus to from Centraal station, and to get to the main shopping areas. No luggage storage for early and late checkout as well so you will have to use the providers that they recommended. Otherwise communication thru WhatsApp is 24/7 and very helpful. The lift broke down and we had to carry our luggage up 2 floors. Free coffee machine downstairs (was not working while we stayed).

The elevator was out of order during the stay. Apparently the elevator has been broken for several weeks and there’s no signs of window will be repaired. The property did not notify us that the elevator would not be working. We have many bags and getting them to the second floor was a chore We company about the elevator and they said they would get back to us. We heard nothing. We liked the location in the accommodations. Do not stay there again, though due to lack of communication about the elevator.

The staff was very helpful and the welcome book has everything you need. A 25 minute bus ride into the core of Amsterdam that was easily navigated with 1 bus. One note of concern: they offer bikes for 10 euro however the bikes are in need of servicing. We had to get through 3 bikes before we found 2 that worked and even then one of the bikes had a broken brake mechanism which we realized into our ride. Thankfully a local helped us otherwise is would have been unrideable.

Slept six easily in the maisonette. Lack of A/C was a struggle, as open windows let in mosquitos and flies. Hand held shower was broken. Laundry room had only one operating washer. Would have preferred that second bathroom was enclosed rather than tub and lav next to the bed so it could have been shared better by six adults.

The room wasn't the cleanest, soiled couch/carpeting, lighting. Uncomfortable sofa sleeper mattress, sleeping on the couch was better. Maintenance- broken electric outlet in kitchen, broken toilet paper holder, hole in tile in bathroom that looks like an old electrical outlet, one window didn't open. Expensive and felt more like being in a hostel.

It was super dusty...like...the worst I'd ever seen in a hotel. In fact my kids, wife, & I all woke up with runny noses from how little the room had been dusted lately. What else...I slept on the pullout couch & the sheets were really itchy to the point I thought the couch had f******* bed bugs. My daughter also remarked once we got back to the United States how the beds made her feel like she had bed bugs also. This was a full day later after we had left the hotel when she said that. Also when sleeping on the pullout couch every time I rolled over it was so damn creaky it was akin to a WWII tank with how much it squeaked. It would wake up my family up above in the loft area as I rolled over. Sleeping at the Yays Martime Amsterdam was easily a *top-5* worst nights of sleep in my life outside of my kids being born. There was soap scum on the bathroom counter. The bathroom would easily flood because the lip for the shower was so small. Lastly just looking around you could tell that things hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall grime on many items. We stayed 2 nights and after the first night I seriously thought about eating the money & staying at the DoubleTree instead for an extra $400 more. That's how much I hated it. I intentionally structured our day so we would stay out exploring the city so we wouldn't have to spend time in the room. Once it was time to check out I was happy to leave. Truly one of the worst hotel experiences of my 38-year life.

Es war einfach dreckig. Fehlendes Geschirr, keine Möglichkeit selbst etwas Schmutz zu beseitigen. Sofa völlig unbenutzbar da voller Flecken. An sich ein schönes Appartement. Auch nach Rücksprache und dem Versprechen nachzubessern ist, außer dass wir drei Gabeln gebracht bekamen und jemand die Verschmutzung begutachtet hat, nichts passiert. Sehr Schade denn im Grunde schöne Location.

Muy buen alojamiento, práctico con muy buena ubicación para moverte a los puntos de interés. Cómodo y fácil de llegar, no te hacen la limpieza pero te facilitan todos los insumos para que no te haga falta nada. Si volvería a usarlo.

It was very loud at night. We ended up in a corner unit - the noise level was quite high, with all windows closed. There was a sock inserted into one of the windows. I guess this was done by previous tenants to create tighter closing for one of the windows ... :) The towels had yellow spots and should have been disposed of a long time ago. The pillow under the case had yellow spots as well.

Easy in and out, no hassles. Clean, nice kitchenette.

Nice place, Not the greatest location. My only big complaint is that neither the hotel nor Hotels.com told us before that there is no cleaning service. You need to make your bed and if you need towels , you must go downstairs and ask for them. They leave you on your own. I think for the price ( not cheap) the least they could do was advise beforehand.

Hotel infestado de chinches. Aunque aceptaron la cancelación de la reserva, no es posible que no cuenten con un cuidado tan básico de higiene. Desafortunada vivencia en un país del primer mundo.

Great location. Had an issue with a smelly drain that staff took care of while we were out for the day. My group had a great first visit to the Netherlands!

Gran hotel (tipo airbnb) para quedarse en familia de 4…. Camas en dos niveles por tapanco lo que ofrece privacidad y una cocineta y refri que ayudan para desayunos o cenas en el cuarto.

This is a fantastic accommodation option especially for those who are looking for more space in a city that sells it at a premium. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under the age of 6) and the family room was brilliant for us. Incredibly spacious, room to unpack, a pretty much full kitchen, well equipped kitchen, lots of natural light with blackout shades, air conditioning (not in all rooms) and so much space (coffee table and chair, dining table with 4 seats, full size bed and full size sleeper sofa). The online check-in is really simple. We got everything we needed to access the property and our apartment in a very timely manner and with the few issues we had, they were incredibly responsive via whatsapp. I also loved that they had an "Essentials Closet" in the laundry room where you could get extra toilet paper, kitchen towel, towels and linens 24 hours a day. The property is also in a really good location - less than 20 minutes walk to Amsterdam Centraal and less than 5 minutes walk to the grocery story, bus and tram stops. The only negatives - we and our family staying next door had issues with our dishwasher, ours was resolved after a few days and they were responsive and helpful throughout; the fire alarm went off twice during our 4 night stay, both times in the morning with people cooking breakfast; although the apartment was superficially clean, the whole apartment could have done with a deep clean. Will stay again for sure!

Very well designed studio apartment (could have slept a lot more than the three of us) that have everything we needed. It was well kept and suited us very well. Tall ceilings let in a lot of light and clever use of a mezzanine to create space for three comfortable beds (but did wonder if sleeping up there would be comfortable on a hot summer jight)

Great property to stay in, plenty space and facilities nearby. Only downfall was there is no air conditioning in the apartment so is very warm. However we were provided with fans

I would actually give this place a 3.5 rating. It was better than ok. The property itself was nicely laid out. It was centrally located (4 minute walk to grocery store), bus stop right out front. Free lockers were very helpful. Our issue had to do with problems in the room. The door to the main bedroom wouldn't close (there was an open shower which couldn't be used due to lack of privacy). The stove top didn’t work. The large window in the living space wouldn't close properly, letting in a draught and rattling throughout the night during a storm. Lastly the main bathroom sink had an extremely slow drain. These are all maintenance issues, which could have been sorted before our arrival.

Great accomodation, Ideal location about 20 minutes walk to the center or the 22 bus is outside the door in and out of the city. Very comfy for 4 people with the pull out bed and bed upstairs. Fully functioning kitchen too

A quieter area of the city, perfect for families of you want to avoid the stag/hen dos and the crowds. However, still noisy if you need to open the window (kebab shop right outside and a busy road). Check in was easy via WhatsApp message. Amenities were ok, although we couldn't figure out the coffee machine and we did need to clean the sink area. Some noise from other visitors - folk returning from nights out at 3am etc. Close proximity to the maritime museum, a little further walk gets you to NEMO, This is Holland, the Eye museum and the train station. About a 40 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and attractions around that area. Lovely grocery store, Odin, nearby. Wine and beer for sale there, too. Bin wasn't emptied - I don't think it could have done another day and there wasn't any indication of where to take the rubbish. Beds were comfortable. Flooring uneven and some low beams - it's an old building. Shower was excellent. TV ok - BBC World, CNN for English speaking channels. WiFi connection good. For the cost and location, this is a nice place to stay. We'd stay again.

It was a great stay and communication with the property was fast and efficient.

The front desk reception was very helpful. We were provided with a map and several recommended public transportation lines to get to museums and tourist destinations. The location is in a residential neighborhood, not quite as busy as downtown. The area is scenic, water is on either side of Oostenburgergracht. There are groceries within walking distance, a bus stop just in front of the hotel and a tram within a few minutes walking distance. Central station was 10-15 minutes by bus and Rijksmuseum was easily accessible by tram.

Very nice place, would stay there again but I prefer onsite reception as this place only offers a digital reception and questions dont necessary get answered in a timely manner that you may need them to. Otherwise was a nice stay

After a cancelled flight we found ourselves in need of accommodation for 2 nights. We had a extra large studio and sofa bed, it was well equipt with everything we needed. Spacious and clean. Check in was problematic, had to create a Numa account, upload every guests passport pics etc in order to get key code to building and our room but website had issues so it took a long time. Once in, all good. 40 minute walk into centre, museums cafes and shops along the way. Clean, safe, quiet, helpful freindly staff. Opposite canal. Local spar type shops close by for food, drinks and toiletries etc.

If a hotel isn’t going to have staff on property, they need to have an easy way to communicate when things aren’t going well. The property care staff was extremely rude and we felt it was racially motivated. We have never had a bad booking with Expedia, until now.

Very easy to check in. Very good use if space for the us and the kids to stay. Included a kitchen, making our holiday much more affordable

Rather poor as we were not informed about the tax that was due. Had to find the email from my junk folder. No reception, no immediate support all on WhatsApp and worst of all The lift was not working and we had e bags, kids pushchair to carry everyday. Won't be staying there again. Another alarming one is they publicly disclosed my email to all the residents because of an amateurs move as they failed to use bcc. Not acceptable !

Location good, just 10mins by Bus 22 to Amsterdam Central

While this place is not in the "heart of it", it is a great location very close to all the transportation options you could want. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is only a 7 minute bus ride to central station where you can pick up the tram, the train or information on tours. There are 2 grocery store options just a few minutes way away and restaurants all around. If we find our selves in Amsterdam again we will definitely stay here again.

Cuisine intégrale, frigo, plaque induction, lave vaisselle,nespresso, théière etc… Literie très confortable Tous les transports bus et tram au pied de l’hôtel, accès au centre à pied à qques minutes Adresse à retenir !

Nice quiet place on outskirts of city. Easy tram ride near hotel to downtown.

Soggiorno piacevole ad Amsterdam. La pulizia era nella media. La stanza era un po’ calda, specialmente durante la notte. Punto di forza sicuramente la posizione: zona comodissima, ben collegata e con facile accesso ai principali mezzi di trasporto e attrazioni. Consigliato per chi cerca praticità e una buona base per esplorare la città.

The staff at this Yays location were very helpful. They helped explain how the parking/ transportation works, gave me pointers for food and grocery for the baby, and their coffee at the reception desk is great. The rooms are amazing with blackout curtains and a full kitchen. Totally worth the price.

Lejlighederne er ikke særlig godt indrettet og vi savnede en reception med personale og restaurant med morgenmad. Placeringen i centrum er ikke optimal, man dog både bus og tram lige udenfor døren
