Lovely B&B a few minutes walk to the centre. The owners are super friendly and the room was very comfortable and large with ncie views of some of the surrounding hills. Very good breakfast. Easy parking on site or the road just round the corner from the hotel. Would recommend and would stay again

Giles and Andrea run a tight ship with the friendliest of service and highest standards. The B&B is situated in the heart of Amblside with on site parking! A boon. I would thoroghly recommend it for a stay in the Lakes..

Very clean room with a really comfortable bed. Room 11 had very nice views and a new bathroom installation. No noise when we stayed. USB charging port on bedside sockets. Hairdryer. Tea, coffee bags also fresh milk usually available from downstairs fridge. Really good breakfast: fresh orange; fresh fruit etc.; perfectly cooked and quickly served. Adequate parking (my car is quite large and hasn't the best turning circle, so had to reverse out) Ambleside is small, so not far to walk to the bars and eateries.

A small B&B but everything is done to perfection. My room had a lovely view of the mountain & church. The bed was comfy, everything was spotlessly cleaned. Breakfasts were always well-prepared and the best of what we had for our entire trip including our stay at much bigger hotels. We had a little problem finding the parking lot the first day. I walked in and checked with Giles how to circle back. Without asking, when we drove back, Giles had already hung out in the front waiting to help us to park our car. Giles and Andrea were always busy, but they never refused to answer questions or offer help. Thank you very much for the pleasant stay!

Very nice Bed and Breakfast. The proprietor is very kind and service oriented. The single room was spotless, comfy and nicely decorated. Well stocked tea and coffee options in the room. There is even more in the aisle if you somehow run out. Onsite parking was nice to have.

One of the best B&B's I have ever stayed, helpful, friendly with nothing too much trouble. Bed/bathroom bright, clean & modern. Unusual in B&B's there were 2 comfortable lounges and honesty bar. Breakfast was outstanding and my only negative, the parking was tight & needed care. Property close to town and lake. Gg

Eldar Grove was the nicest B and B we've been to for a long time. Matthew and Lucy were so lovely and really accommodating. Being vegan was no trouble as they kindly printed me a vegan menu on arrival and there was so much choice, more than most restaurants! Even though I'd forgotten to let them know beforehand they had everything I could ask for on the first morning at breakfast. Lovely fresh fruit salad and homemade muesli, soya milk and the cooked options were wonderful. Matthews sense of humour was fantastic and Lucy was so lovely. The room had everything you could need, comfy bed and linens, kettle and hot drinks. Lovely toiletries for you to use and a modern bathroom. We'd recommend this b and b over and over, such good proximity to all amenities in Ambleside, good free parking at the hotel and fantastic hosts. Thank you for making our stay such a wonderful one 😊 see you again

Lovely hotel with superb hosts Matt and Lucy. Our overnight stay was brilliant. Our room (11) was sparkling clean with everything you could want. A good selection of tea and coffee plus biscuits. The bathroom was lovely with a deep bath and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was was hot and tasty and also a selection of cereals, yogurts etc. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent stay all around. The couple who run this place were friendly, professional, and very helpful. And they cooked the best English breakfast we've ever had! Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful view. Really the best of experience. We will return soon hopefully.

We loved staying at the Elder Grove! Lovely room with a comfortable bed. On the main street, but outside noise never bothered us. The location makes it very walkable around Ambleside. Nice extra touches in the room like cookies and cocoa. The 'Herdy' mugs made me smile and the toilet paper has the ouline of little dogs imprinted on it. Breakfast had a nice selection of cold items, including homemade granola which was excellent. Made to order hot items. Andrea was very warm and welcoming.

Great location and lovely couple managing guest house, with a superb breakfast. Only comment was room (11) was a tad on small size with no air conditioning (it was a really hot couple of days and being at top of hotel was very hot at night).

Excellent stay all around. The couple who run this place were friendly, professional, and very helpful. And they cooked the best English breakfast we've ever had! Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful view. Really the best of experience. We will return soon hopefully.

The couple running it are very friendly and accomadating on any request. The breakfasts were amazing using all fresh local produce.A lovely atmosphere.I did not find anything to dislike about my stay at Elder Grove

Another return visit and still as good as always Excellent breakfasts and comfortable clean rooms. Great location close to bars and restaurants and the main bus stand. Very friendly and helpful owners who make you feel very comfortable.

Great, friendly and accommodating. My only disappointment was I had to leave too early on my 2nd day to have the cooked breakfast, which was delicious the 1st day, with good quality local produce that tasted amazing.

Lovely B&B a few minutes walk to the centre. The owners are super friendly and the room was very comfortable and large with ncie views of some of the surrounding hills. Very good breakfast. Easy parking on site or the road just round the corner from the hotel. Would recommend and would stay again

Giles and Andrea run a tight ship with the friendliest of service and highest standards. The B&B is situated in the heart of Amblside with on site parking! A boon. I would thoroghly recommend it for a stay in the Lakes..

We loved staying at the Elder Grove! Lovely room with a comfortable bed. On the main street, but outside noise never bothered us. The location makes it very walkable around Ambleside. Nice extra touches in the room like cookies and cocoa. The 'Herdy' mugs made me smile and the toilet paper has the ouline of little dogs imprinted on it. Breakfast had a nice selection of cold items, including homemade granola which was excellent. Made to order hot items. Andrea was very warm and welcoming.

Fabulous b&b recently bought by new owners who were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious…full Cumbrian, vegetarian or breakfast sandwiches all accompanied by fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereal and toast. All produce locally sourced which i love. We had single rooms which were small but more than adequate in size as a base. Lovely crisp, high quality bedding and luxury pure lakes toiletries.

One of the best B&B's I have ever stayed, helpful, friendly with nothing too much trouble. Bed/bathroom bright, clean & modern. Unusual in B&B's there were 2 comfortable lounges and honesty bar. Breakfast was outstanding and my only negative, the parking was tight & needed care. Property close to town and lake. Gg

This B&B was booked for its proximity to the Rugby club for a party, and we didn’t want to camp, or drive home. However, I travel a lot for work and this is place that has got it right (better than many 4 star hotels) there are usb port and sockets at the bedside tables, large towels. Plenty of milk and tea and coffee (bag - not instant). Smart clean bathroom, without bottles screwed to the wall. And breakfast was fabulous (and I normally don’t eat a full engish from the warming plate in big places but here it was freshly cooked and high quality local ingredients, (there was a vegy option with hulloumi) and the fruit was good as well (not a frozen berry in sight) Genuinely one of the better places I have stayed this year

We just had a really lovely one night stay at Elder Grove in Ambleside. The room was lovely and clean and I enjoyed relaxing in the lounge downstairs in the evening after diner. My husband didn’t mind it but I did find the bed rather firm. Other than that everything was great.

Our stay was perfection. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful and the room was beautifully decorated and very clean. I tried 3 different cooked breakfasts during our stay and loved every single one. The range of choices for other breakfast options was also great. The location was spot on for going into Ambleside and also for walks. The fact that there was parking was a huge bonus. I would highly recommend a stay here and also hope to go again.

Excellent all round. Great room and very clean. I booked in for just one night, I had to be up early and breakfast laid on especially. So handy to have hotel parking so central too. Very good friendly service. Definitely would stay again.

We loved our stay at Elder Grove! The room was clean and cozy, the property also has various lounges and common areas that visitors can enjoy. There’s convenient parking in the backyard and the location is central, yet accessible without having to drive through narrow city streets. The breakfast was a highlight for us, everything was freshly prepared to a high standard and all the food provided was fresh and local. The property has many floors, heavy luggage could be difficult to carry all the way to the top floor, just something to keep in mind. We highly recommend Elder Grove!
