This hotel is a great location for being right downtown in Atlantic City. Just steps from the Tropicana. This is not our cookie cutter hotel! The rooms are designed around the period give off a spooky yet safe vibe. We stayed in October do the owners and staff really played up the Halloween angle which was appreciated. Breakfast was included and very good. There’s stories with no elevator may be a challenge for some, especially with bags. We loved it!

It a beautiful bed and breakfast. Simple and quiet. All in one place with bar and restaurant. Free breakfast was great. The neighborhood is a bit intimidating. I wouldn't walk around the area late at night. Otherwise the bldg and property feels safe.

A meticulously-restored Victorian mansion, The Chelsea is a remnant of a bygone Atlantic City. Tucked in the midst of tacky casino towers, a stay here presents a wonderful, quiet alternative for the business or pleasure traveller to the smoke-filled noisy gambling resorts. Clean and comfortable with a friendly staff and very reasonable rates, both parking and a continental breakfast were included in my stay. For all my conference travel to AC going forward, I’ll look to The Chelsea.

Fast check in. Restaurant conveniently located right next door and they make great drinks! The food is also delicious at the restaurant. This place is immaculate! It's very quiet. Very close to the beach. I wish I brought my bathing suit. Will definitely come again.

Property was a gem as were the staff. Incredibly positive experience. Parking lot was frequented by some sketchy people, but video surveillance and steady police presence made it all good.

After checking in (the manager was very cordial and helpful) and surveying the accommodations, we decided not to stay because of my companion's difficulty in climbing stairs and she was experiencing claustrophobic anxiety due to the small size of our room. Disappointed because I was looking forward to the experience of staylng at the beautiful and historic Inn.

The restaurant and bar staff were fantastic. Food was good. The surprise was all the stairs. I do not recall any mention of all the steep stairs. We were in the top story and the very steep stairs to that level were not fun for an asthmatic or for carrying our bags. Towards the top of these stairs the railing becomes unusable when you really need it.

I loved my stay here. The staff were fantastic and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options and I could easily walk to the beach at a spot on the boardwalk with stores, food, a beach bar, restrooms, and a wash area to clean your feet and body of sand before leaving. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a charming stay in AC

This is a gem in Atlantic City. This is so much nicer than staying in just another room at one of the casinos. It's an older building with lots of style. Rooms were very clean, breakfest and parking included makes this such a value over the other overpriced options in AC

The cons were we found no way to change the room temperature or turn on a fan even. The place had super thin walls so you could hear everything going on inside and outside the bldg which made it hard to sleep. Also we had a very firm bed which was tough. We would definitely stay here again but would bring a small portable fan with us.

Bathroom was smaller than being on a cruise ship. You can’t bend down standing up in shower. Only 1 person at a time in the bathroom. You had to almost kneel to use the tiny tiny sink and no where to rest your bath accessory except outside the room. Totally not worth it at all, especially for the price I paid

I stayed at the Chelsea for a brief two-night stay during a work trip. It's a cool place! Definitely more of an inn/b&b feel than your standard hotel. Really neat common areas, friendly staff, and well kept. I had a smaller queen room, which was adequate for one person, maybe tight for two. Room was clean and included a tv and fridge, though not a safe. The front desk provided earplugs, but I found the room to be quiet (though it was midweek in the off season - may be a different story at other times). Location is convenient, probably more so in season. A short walk to the boardwalk/beach,directly across from the Tropicana. The Pub was a nice little watering hole too. Decent food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Overall, I'd recommend The Chelsea Inn!

Beautiful old hotel! Great ambiance! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was one thing that I found odd. The shower was open in the bedroom with only a glass brick half wall separating it from the rest of the bedroom, and it was U shaped and open to the rooms hallway to the bathroom and door. This keeps the air from warming up so it is always cool while showering.

Great little historic hotel. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was included which was also nice. We slept not one minute. The room looked out over a porch and bright light stayed on the entire night and shown directly into the room right over the bed. The windows were covered with just kind of translucent blinds and light cut and curtains that did nothing to block out the light. I just cannot believe that you rent a room like this and to charge a regular room rate without telling people what they’re in for.

I think the louvre door which served as a bathroom door between the king sized bedroom and toilet area was ridiculous and really made our stay a bit unpleasant. I don’t know what genius thought this door was a good plan but it’s not. Also there was no bath fan. It’s a shame because everything else was pretty great. Privacy matters.

This was my husband and I first time staying at a bed and breakfast. The staff was excellent. Miss Shirley is awesome! Very welcoming and pleasant. When we walked into our room we smelled bleach, which instantly we knew meant the rooms were clean. We loved the throw back vibe the property presented. Very unique and different. We would definitely recommend the Chelsea for future stays in Atlantic City.

My only complaint is there was repair work being done in the morning while my husband and I tried to rest. We had to leave our room due to the noice. We complained to the front desk. The desk clerk stated there was a leak that was being repaired and waited in the parlor until the repairs were complete.

Quaint and older B&B. Very accommodating allowing us to keep cooler at front desk and car in lot for extended period. The cooler was a very big deal, as it was 100 degrees+!! Staff was very kind when we arrived as well as departure. Parking lot, although exposed felt very safe as they're are many cameras onsite.

This place was amazing. Loved the nostalgic look and feel of the place. It was so comfortable and cozy. Loved the breakfast as well. Simple for definitely filling. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Also love that they have a bar/pub downstairs. It walking distance to the boardwalk which is also a very big plus Highly recommend and would definitely go back.

The staff were so friendly and attentive. Also love that they have a bar/pub downstairs. Great old “classic” turn of the century shore hotel, but the neighborhood is loud and active all night. Lots of noise, sirens, and loud patrons from other nearby hotels.

Really surprised at this little gem. Very old and historic building friendly staff and really clean rooms. 2 min walk from the Tropicana and a 24 hour pub attached to the Chelsea. Free breakfast too, can’t beat that. We would stay her again in a heartbeat.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The room was small and there was at least a 3 inch gap under the door that we had to stuff a towel into. There is free parking and breakfast which we decided to skip. The location is next to the Tropicana. We made the mistake of coming back from the casinos late at night and the area becomes overrun with prostitutes, drug users and tons of locals sitting on the steps and blocking the entrance. It doesn’t feel safe here at night and just based on that, we would never stay here again.

This hotel is a great location for being right downtown in Atlantic City. Just steps from the Tropicana. This is not our cookie cutter hotel! The rooms are designed around the period give off a spooky yet safe vibe. We stayed in October do the owners and staff really played up the Halloween angle which was appreciated. Breakfast was included and very good. There’s stories with no elevator may be a challenge for some, especially with bags. We loved it!

I stayed at the Chelsea for a brief two-night stay during a work trip. It's a cool place! Definitely more of an inn/b&b feel than your standard hotel. Really neat common areas, friendly staff, and well kept. I had a smaller queen room, which was adequate for one person, maybe tight for two. Room was clean and included a tv and fridge, though not a safe. The front desk provided earplugs, but I found the room to be quiet (though it was midweek in the off season - may be a different story at other times). I have stayed at the Chelsea many times over the years. It is a quiet Inn a 1/2 block from the boardwalk and about 3/4 of a mile from the outlet shops. I go during teachers convention. They serve a nice breakfast with lovely places to sit during your meal.

This was a unique spot the first time we stayed here a few years ago. This visit was not so lovely. Our room was small, had been refitted with badly installed engineered hardwood flooring, and was noisy (right above the vent from the restaurant below) and hot. The breakfast, which in the past had been a beautiful french country buffet, was disappointing, to say the least. Staff was all very friendly. It now has the feel of a corporate operation instead of a quaint inn. I am sorry to see this change in such a lovely little hotel.

There are steps, even on first floor, if this is a problem for you. I didn’t feel safe here. Heard 5 gunshots really close in the middle of the night. Also very minimal breakfast. I would not stay here again.
