The parking is very tight 😳

The property was surprisingly quite being right beside the road and their was a live band that night which we enjoyed and it was still quite. Food and drinks and service was great. Not a lot of parking but we did get a good spot under our room.

We were initially pleased with the off-season rate and felt that the hotel provided reasonable value for the price. While it is not a high-end mountain resort, the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival, and our room was clean, though it would benefit from some updates. We particularly enjoyed the mountain views from our creekside room. However, there were several aspects of our stay that were disappointing. There was no indication on Hotels.ca or the hotel’s official website that the on-site pub and restaurant would be closed until December for renovations, which was unfortunate as we had planned to dine there and watch a game. Additionally, there was no mention that Telus was conducting work on the property, impacting access to the main entrance and portions of the parking area. After booking our reservation, we received an email outlining the pub’s hours (later upon check in finding out the location currently closed) as well as informing us about reduced front desk hours due to staffing shortages and low-season operations. Unfortunately, our nights were also disturbed by excessive noise, including guests pounding on doors and others shouting from the parking lot to rooms on the upper floors. With no front desk or staff available, we had no one to report. Overall, while the staff were pleasant and the views beautiful, the lack of communication regarding closures, construction, and disruptions significantly detracted from the experience.

Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, price was good and it was close to downtown canmore to walk for breakfast and dinners. Only complaint was parking at night on weekends with the bar being busy. We had to park across the street on private property as we could not get a space in parking lot.

The view was nice but the restaurant was under renovation so that was a little disappointing.

Central location, nice view. Friendly staff. Room was a third storey walk up. Difficult to carry up luggage. Attached pub/bar that had live band playing from 10pm to 2am on the Friday and Saturday night that we stayed. Very loud, not good for light sleepers or families with young children.

The room interior was great, recently refreshed, new fixtures, tile etc. the exterior of the building needs an overhaul. Be sure to note that there is no elevator.

This property was no frills but had everything we needed. The room was clean and updated. Did lack a space to hang things. A few more hooks would help. No elevator. Restaurant pub on site. Beautiful view of mountains and creek running next to property. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and downtown as well as trails. Take note. No hot tub on site. Great choice for price point.

Check in was quick and efficient. Afterwards the staff were not very supportive in helping us. After driving all day we were ready to settle down for a good night’s rest only we had to wait for more than 45 minutes to get a parking spot. If you plan to stay here don’t arrive after dinner time as the parking is packed with pub patrons.

The room wasn’t clean enough, bed sheets hairy, bathroom not so clean, bathroom fan so loud, very noisy area, basically regret paying 340$ for one night as that was too pricey & not worth it

The carpet needs to be replaced. It looks so worn-out and dirty. The room smells like hospital with strong smell of bleaching formula. It is not comfortable to use the toilet. Will avoid this place next time.

Toilet was on the fritz, no placard to request no housekeeping, they went into our room while we were away without telling us to “fix” the toilet. Poor lighting in vanity for getting ready. Water damage around tub. Left feeling overcharged, but I enjoyed the view

I really enjoyed our stay here. We got a wonderful view of the creek and the mountains, it was close to one of the more popular bars and downtown was all walkable. The rooms didn’t have AC and it was hot after the afternoon sun hit but it quickly cooled off with a fan and the door open. The only part that wasn’t clean was the ceiling in the bathroom had some mold, probably because the fan wasn’t making enough ventilation. The rest of the room was very clean and so it didn’t bother us much

I knew it was old building but at least make it need more on cleaning like the windows and carpet very dusty. The staff is great

we recently stayed at this place for one night, and it was far from pleasant. Upon entering our room, we noticed it was dusty and even found spiders around. It felt unkempt and uncomfortable. Our experience took a turn for the worse when we returned to the hotel late in the evening like around 10pm. We saw a drunk guy in the parking lot who approached us, making us feel unsafe. This was not the kind of environment we expected. The next day, when we checked out, we wanted to share our concerns with the front desk. The staff member we spoke to was unhelpful and dismissive. After explaining our issues, she said she would talk to her manager but returned with no resolution. Instead of an apology, we were told that we were simply seeking a discount. We weren’t asking for that; we just wanted to communicate our experience. Her rudeness left us feeling even more offended. Overall, our stay was disappointing, and we won’t be returning. There are definitely better options out there.

A decent place to stay if it’s not a Friday night, when music blares till 2 am from the adjacent pub. Coffee maker was also not clean, which made the morning bleary wake-up even tougher.

Upgraded to a balcony. Lovely room, view of mountains and creekside. No air conditioning, something to keep in mind in summer. They do provide a fan. Only 2 cups and 2 coffee pouches. Not enough for our stay. We had arranged to meet my brother/ nephew and couldn't offer a drink. The office closed at 5 so unable to request more. No breakfast available.

Very nice staff and quick to solve problem. Hotel doesn’t have air conditioning. Which sometimes can be an issue on a hot day. Our room was over a pub that extended outdoors. And across the street was another. So on the weekends if you have to leave your windows open to cool off, it was very noisy. They did offer in-room fans. Very scenic views!

The location is excellent, but it went downhill from there. The pictures were misleading, there is not elevator, and the overall property condition was bad, it needs a remodel. Our room did not have AC and it was a hot day. There was a stand fan in the room but it made a load clicking noise all of the time and through the night. There was a live band playing from 10PM-2AM and since we needed to leave our balcony slider open because of the heat, it made it almost impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs that we had. If all you are looking for is place to sleep and close to downtown, this hotel will work. Other than that, I would not stay there.

Beds were double size not queen like advertised. No AC. Music played until 2am friday and Saturday nights. Bathroom is 20yrs old and needs updated.

We stayed at the Drake Inn for 3 nights over the long weekend. Check in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. Our room was great. It was a good size with 2 queens, 2 desks/tables with chairs, and a lounge chair. It also had a fridge and coffee maker. The sink is outside the washroom as others have mentioned and we found this very convenient. Someone can be getting ready, even if washroom is in use! The balcony was private, and had an amazing view of Policeman Creek and mountains. We could hear the creek gurgling as we relaxed in the outdoor chairs and table provided. We heard none of the bar noise that some mention but we were on the otherside of building. The only negative I would say is that the rooms are a bit tired, however everything works, beds are very comfortable and there is lots of hot water. The slider screen door did not have a lock, which would be appreciated as this door needs to be left open at night to cool the room. Fan provided was efficient and quiet, but having patio door open is still needed. Overall a great stay and we look forward staying here again!

It's not a hotel, but a motel. Rooms are spacious, but bathroom is quite small and dated.

I was having problems with my credit card upon reservation, and the nice lady at the counter fixed me up . Good quiet sleep

Our room was clean and had an amazing view. Staff was friendly and check in was very quick. My only complaint was we couldn’t watch TV as the batteries in the remote were dead and the front office was closed.

We really enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised at our king suite that we had booked on the third floor. The ladies at reception were really lovely and check in/out was a quick and easy. We loved having the family restaurant attached to the Inn which made last minute dinner plans easy. Thank you Drake Inn!

The room was clean and comfortable, but the management’s handling of my booking was unacceptable. The hotel charged my card for the full amount an hour before their office closed, without warning. I had already paid the deposit and first night stay, so this felt excessive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I was told by the manager that office hours were 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Thursday, and I even have an email confirming that. However, they sent an amended schedule the day of check-in — which I didn’t see because I relied on the original information provided when I booked. I showed up promptly at 8 a.m. to pay in person, but the manager was late, and I had to leave for my retreat without staying. Overall, the room was fine, but the lack of clear communication and the unauthorized early charge completely ruined my experience. I wouldn’t book again unless management improves their professionalism and consistency.

The view was spectacular. Such a great location to downtown. A bit of traffic noise but quiet when traffic slowed at night. Would recommend this hotel.

There was too much noise from the pub next door. Impossible to sleep until 2am. Parking first come first served. We could hear the steps of people on the floor above. Mold on the bathroom. Not realible.

The Drake Inn is a clean and quaint older motorlodge walking distance to downtown Canmore. The staff was wonderful and the views were great. The Inn is right off the creek side path making for a nice walk into town for food, shopping and drinks. The rooms are a little tired, especially the flooring and bathroom. However, everything was impeccable clean. For the price and proximity it is a good deal close to Banff and all it had to offer.

Was a bit concerned by the outside look of the hotel, but it turned out to be a very comfortable stay. Big king bed, renovated bathroom, and one of the most amazing views I've had from any hotel room, with a full view of the mountains. Yes, you could hear the band at night - as they warned - but it was far from loud, and we had no trouble sleeping through it. Perfect location right at the entrance to the main pedestrian street, alongside Policemen's Creek. Highly recommended - wish we hadn't moved on to Banff.

It is what it is, it would be a great value at 100$ but at 250$ not so much. I get it's very touristy, but this is way overpriced for what it offers. And the pub attached to the Inn is overrated. Bad food, worse service from the one waiter. All a disappointment.

Incredible price for Canmore. We needed pet friendly. They were great. Gave us a creekside room. Complimentary drinks and mad specials at the attached pub. Room was hot first night. The thermostat failed. They had it fixed immediately. Great views, comfy beds, clean, super central to downtown. Hotel is older but was fine.

I love this hotel. The staff are very friendly and the location can't be beat! Also the Pub is a great place to hang and enjoy amazing food.

The views!!!! We had an amazing view of the mountains. The bar/restaurant was great. Nice staff. Expensive for what it is, but everything is expensive and this property is very clean and nice. I would definitely return!
