The Asperion is a lovely hotel - beautifully decorated with good beds and all necessary amenities including beautiful towels. I think it is best suited to business travellers rather than visitors to the area. There were no maps or brochures describing nearby attractions. Their recommended taxi was a limousine service - very expensive - as was the breakfast offered. It is a relatively short walk from the train station but it is up a fairly steep hill so not suitable for older folk or those with heavy cases. The staff were mostly helpful and the location is good for shopping and eateries.

We stayed in the 'Castle' room. It was large and clean. Room is on the ground floor, the lower windows were obscured and as the windows were large we didn't feel safe leaving them open at night so it was very hot and stuffy in the night. Quite a noisy room. Could hear toilets flushing and showers running, along with some really loud bangs (no idea what these were). Quietened down after midnight although there seemed to be a low hum (possibly aircon or water pipes?) running all night. Didn't sleep particularly well. Bathroom was ok, a bit of damp on the ceiling and blind and could do with some attention. Shower was powerful and hot. Suited us for one night but probably no longer as too noisy for this light sleeper

A great hotel - it's basic like other well known hotel chains - but it fulfills all the requirements. The room is neat, clean, and the bed is comfy. Even though it's on a road, the back rooms are relatively quiet. The walls are quite thin, so I could easily hear the next room, or doors slamming. Great position for Guildford town, in 10 minutes walk down the hill, and you're in town. Breakfast not included, nor is the £10 parking charge.

We stayed at the Asperion for one night, for my daughter's graduation & found it very clean, staff very friendly & helpful. It was perfect for what we wanted as we were actually only in the room for about 12 hours. The bed was SO comfortable, it was the best nights sleep I had had in this heat for a while !!! They had put a fan on in the room for us which we were very grateful for. The rooms are not the biggest but all we needed was a bed and shower, so perfect. The en suite is a little small, but the shower was great & it was very clean. I can't coment on the breakfast as we didn't have it. But if you book at the hotel you receive a 50% discount. You do have to order what you would like the night before and a time, but if you're heading out this shouldn't be a problem. It's location is great and easy to get to from the train station (just a 10 minute walk). I would highly recommend this as a comfortable, friendly clean hotel to rest your head.
