We booked the suite, although spacious and clean, drain in the shower overflowed causing the room to smell. Blinds extremely mouldy. When checking in waited in reception twice for over 10 minutes. Car parking charged at £8 for 24 hours! This is not stated on hotel.com when booking. Swimming pool also charged at £5pp or £30 also not stated or disclosed when rang property direct day before arrival. There is also no sauna, included in description and pictures. Overall very overpriced, but pleasant in a good location.

Room 218 was okay with a comfy bed, good bed linen & plentiful hot (scalding even!) water. It is at the back of the hotel so no view! The shower was loose on the wall & I was worried it would come off. It was powerful enough tho which was a plus. There was no shower gel in the bottle although there was shampoo & hand wash in the other bottles in the room. Breakfast was okay. This is self service & items were plentiful. The coffee machine only seemed to give out black coffee rather than the selection described. Cups were small so when milk was added, the cup overflowed. It was okay for one night & staff were very pleasant & friendly.

Hotel dated and not very clean, room generally clean but furniture very worn with cigarettes burns on some items, bathroom not very clean with shower mouldy, toilet roll holder not fitted to wall securely and toilet seat loose, breakfast average, also Web site states 2 bars and entertainment, however only 1 bar and no entertainment, staff did inform us when asked that other bar is only used at functions. However Staff at the hotel were very pleasant and answered any enquiries,

The room was clean but very out dated. Staff were brilliant. Needs a spruce up and the bed was way too soft and very noisy. Not quite sure about the lift. Felt like I was going to work down the pit. A bit of TLC and this could be a brilliant hotel. But can't complain for the price paid. Staff mentioned it had recently been taken over that week
