Candlewood Suites Cape Girardeau by IHG

Saw a cockroach in the bathroom. But, only one. Disappointed that the hot tub was covered. Got a one bedroom suite. The fan to bring cool air in the bedroom was backwards.

The hotel was nice, but multiple people in our group stayed there in 4 hotel rooms because they had a pool for our kids. It was not disclosed that the pool was closed. It wasn’t a spur of the moment closing either. The pool was empty and dry.

When we checked in, we were notified the room we booked was not available as the previous guest extended their stay. We had only one option with a smaller bed and no extra sofa bed as originally booked or we could leave. My daughter is on the spectrum and needed the extra sleeping space which was not afforded in the new room. We had to take the new booking. The pool was also broken and we were not notified prior. The new room was right on i55 and was very loud. Kids were also running up and down the halls and took over the workout room since the pool was not available. Terrible terrible stay and we will not book IHG strays again.

The ice machine was broken in the fridge and there is no ice available other than the room fridge Bring your own ice.

I enjoyed the coffee machine that was available 24 hrs a day, and the small little snack bar with options. The indoor pool was nice for the kids. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom kinda small. Overall it was satisfactory.

This was my first time at candlewood suites, we went for a fun weekend at Cape Con and we were so impressed with our room! It was an amazing value and the rooms were extremely clean and well stocked. The pool was also a plus!! We will absolutely be returning, Candlewood made us want to make this a location for a yearly trip! Thank you for the service!

Evaluator was broke down twice they did fix the first time but less then 24 hour later it was broke again and would not be fixed for 3 or four days 4 week post op for knee replacement was b placed C on 4th floor so had to walk down four flights of stairs twice

Nothing. Elevator out of order. Pool closed. Still charged full price. No mention of any of this on site!!!

Definitely loud on the freeway side, and the bedroom doesn’t get very cool with the wall fan replacing an AC in there, but, the people are great. Everything is clean, parking is great. The outdoor grill is an awesome extra. The gym could use a bench and maybe a cable machine or something? I’d definitely appreciate more gym options. That said, I always stay here when I come to town because it’s nice andI love having the kitchen.

Room was clean. Coffee pot did not work, but thankfully they do have free coffee downstairs. The free laundry was also very nice to have access to, I did not use the pool or fitness room. But the pool looked inviting!

No management on site. Desk clerks could no make adjustments to billing. Very poor customer service. Bugs in room

My family and I booked 2 rooms, I’ve stayed at this location before and was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of both rooms. The toilets were dirty, the plates around the doorknobs were filthy and the refrigerator handles were disgusting. Luckily we are clean freaks and bring Clorox wipes everywhere so we were able to clean what was probably someone else’s fecal matter off both toilets and sanitize contact surfaces. I enjoy this line of hotels because of the kitchen but after finding a whole loaf of bread in one room I was scared to open the cabinets in the other room as it was clear the cabinets were not checked. I’ve worked in housekeeping at a casino before and it is hard work, you’re not given enough time to clean everything properly. This was probably an oversight by the housekeeping supervisor. We were also disappointed that there was no breakfast offered, thankfully we were not limited on options around the area. Grateful for the staff getting our rooms next door to each other, and I hope things are better for my next visit.

The room was clean and comfortable. The amenities were nice but the bathroom had seen better days. The metal fixtures had lots of rust and there was mold/water damage on the ceiling of the bathroom.

We had a great stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The air conditioner was pretty noisy, and the fire detector has a bright flash every few seconds, but I don't think either of those things woke us.

I’ve stayed here before and it is very nice. I was slightly disappointed to find toenail clippings and hair in the bathroom. Things happen, I’ve worked in housekeeping and I know housekeepers are human. The hair didn’t bother me as much as the toenail clippings, but still had a great stay.

The whole stay was great from customer service to cleanliness, quality and comfort.

After staying in 50+ Hotels over the year it’s the best by far. Clean and inviting from outside into Lobby. Room was immaculately clean with plenty of desirable amenities.

Large clean rooms. No breakfast, but full kitchens are a nice alternative.

Having a full kitchenette was nice, reminding me of military temporary lodging facilities I've stayed in. But the lack of wifi on top floor was a bother.

The bedroom was too hot as the vent didnt bring in the air from the air conditioner. Yes the fan was on but it didnt bring in the air.

Overall this was a good stay. We were on the side facing the interstate and we could hear the tragic. At first we thought, is the window open? But of course it wasn’t. Could even hear the interstate noise from the bathroom. I would stay again if I could be sure to get a room away from the interstate. The bathtub had some black marks (like split paint) inside it. Needed to replace it. The facility was clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was convenient.

The first thing you notice is the windows are super thin. If you’re on the highway side it’s all you can hear. The flooring isn’t very sound dampening either so if you have someone above you you’re definitely going to hear them walking around.

While the room was nice and clean, the constant noise from the highway was overbearing. My room was on the highway side and I didn't catch any sleep for the 2 nights I was there. Sitting so close to the highway, the hotel didn't insulate their walls and windows very good and the result is a sleepless night for guests...

When I arrived they had cancelled my reservation, even tho I had paid in advance and had a confirmation number. Said that they had over booked. No rooms were available and it took about 2hours to find a room. I was unable to stay with the rest of my family. We will be coming at least five more during football season, but won't be staying with you. I can't take the chance of not having a room when I get there.

They don’t accept cash or prepaid debit card.

They had our reservation wrong and did not have our second room. Staff was rude. We ended up staying at a different hotel

We had an easy check in and check out. The staff were great, very helpful and informative. The room was clean and well appointed. We would definitely stay again!

The manager on duty canceled the room because I only had a prepaid debit card. We did not stay. I had to drive back home. Can I get refunded?

The staff treated our group like royalty! Very accommodating. Let us use a community room for our group get togethers. Took our picture and all!!!

If I could rate this hotel no star, I will do so. I booked a room of two queen beds via Expedia, and I sent a message via Expedia requesting a pet friendly room. When I arrived, the front desk told me that they were oversold. The only room they could give to me was a handicap room of one queen bed. Because I travel with my wife, my teenage son, she will give a roller bed. She stated Expedia never sent them the message about the pet room. They cannot put me in the other room for two beds. She asked me to call Expedia to complain. I called Expedia who contacted the hotel. The front desk called saying hotel manager offers three drinks and snack bars as the compensation. I declined it. 15 mins later, she called again saying her manager asking what I want. At the same time I was on the phone with the Expedia who wanted to talk the front desk to confirm my allegation again. I walked to front desk. I then spoke to the manager over the phone. He stated that was my fault I did call to tell them I travel with my pet. Policy is on their website. I told him I put my request when I booked the reservation. He said you just want to have a free night! I said I never said it. I asked his name three times. Then he said his business card is right in front of me. He never told me his name. He said Expedia told front desk I wanted a free stay. I then questioned the front desk. Front desk told him that I never said I wanted a free night.

Got to the hotel only to be told they do not accept my debit card, and that I couldn’t manually enter in my joint credit card that my husband had. Had NO remorse for not updating that they didn’t accept my specific card and did not care that my children and myself had no place to stay after a day of driving and my kids playing volleyball. Thankfully Fairmont right next door showed compassion as well as booked me their last room and even accepted my debit card!

Great weekend with family! Very nice hotel! But I used one card to book the room and paid with another card! Both my cards have been charged and the manager will not resolve the problem! He is telling his desk person when I call it will be reversed on Friday! Well here it is Friday and I’m still double charged! It would be nice to get my 147.54 back! The manager is not very professional at all! The only one time he talked to me he was not very friendly! He stated it will be back on your card by Friday!

Came across as a workers weekly rental establishment. Conveniently close to the interstate but a bit too road noisy. Also conveniently close to the airport but nothing (restaurants) to walk to. Room was clean and comfortable … common's not so much.

Drive from New Orleans to Chicago along 55 with the family a few times a year. We try to find ourselves a hotel for the half way mark. I was expecting breakfast, but the hotel made up for it with a large fridge and cooking area. For the price and how it looked comparatively - I would definitely consider staying here again.

Hotels services was quite accommodating and we were able to get a room by the pool. Like the location right off interstate easy to access many places to have dinner.

It was conveniently located. Its an older property needs more attention to cleaning all over premises.

We arrived at the property and there was a long line of customers. The attendant explained that the property was overbooked and some would be turned away. We waited patiently and luckily received the last room of our selected type. Our room was okay. There were baby handprints on the mirror, the tub faucet had a loud, noticeable drip, and there was a sticky cup ring on one of the nightstands. We were also unable to get our towels switched out until later the next day due to a shortage of cleaning services. We expected a more upkept facility but it seems there is a major shortage of workers. This is a great and convenient location.

There was an empty beer can under the bed in our room. The coffee maker in common area was broke. Selection of items for breakfast was a joke

Easy access to freeway. Breakfast was for purchase; which was a bummer but worth overall is was a great hotel.

The room was excellent. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and spacious. However, I won’t be staying here again as they don’t offer a continental breakfast. You would think for $160 a night they would offer that. Not high dollar items you have to buy.
