Great place to visit with awesome staff. Beach was a short walk on property with infinity pool and restaurants to add to the choices. The rooftop bar was fantastic and the staff was great, including Kevin. I’d say that the bartenders were really dialed in making premium cocktails using high end liquor.

Very different from your usual all inclusive resorts. Do your research. Lots of strict rules. No taking food to go. No buffet. Sit down restaurants only. Annoying sales pitch at check in. Questions like "What do you do for a living"? No getting room key till you get through the pitch. No bottled water anywhere. Have to pay extra for bottled water... Room service is 10% charge. Tough with little kids with no buffet. Asked for ice cream to go at the restaurant by the pool, not allowed. Have to sit down to eat. Ice cream only after 1 pm... No more towels by the beach and infinity pool. They give you some kind of thin blankets to lie on.

Nov ‘24 there is construction of the main lobby; check in happens in little room to the side and gets terribly crowded. There are very few restaurants but the biggest inconvenience is that the hotel is NOT ON THE BEACH, it takes a long walk to get to the beach assigned to the property.

If you are tired of crowed resorts , Marival Distinct is highly recommended. Restaurant bookings are not necessary and always plenty of sun beds ready for you.

Very nice and QUIET hotel/resort. No activities or shows, no real night life at all. But amazing food and happy helpful staff. Service is top notch. Resort is older but well done. Beautiful beach is a short walk away.

Our recent stay was overall very enjoyable, and we truly appreciated many aspects of the property. The food was consistently good, and we especially liked that the pools never felt overly crowded. The views—from both our room and the sky bar—were absolutely stunning and added a special touch to the experience. Service throughout the resort was attentive and prompt. A special mention goes to Francisco at the beach club, who was fantastic, and to our butler, Hector, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of every day. There are a few areas where enhancements could make the guest experience even better. For example, it would be nice to have a swim-up bar or a convenient spot to grab quick snacks by the pool. Additionally, for a room priced at over $900 per night, it seems reasonable to expect basic amenities like dish soap and laundry detergent to be provided without having to request them. For families traveling with young children, including essentials like milk with the upgraded snack service would also be a thoughtful touch. We did take advantage of the in-room babysitting service one evening. While we were initially a bit hesitant, Michelle was wonderful with our 20-month-old and quickly put us at ease. Overall, we had a lovely time and would certainly consider returning, especially with a few small improvements that would elevate the luxury experience to match the price point.

This is a very nice resort. Heated pool (not all pools are as warm as this property from our experience traveling in mexico). The suites/rooms are terrific. Spacious and comfortable. The new years party and buffet was an A+. Staff is friendly, fast and professional. The food is VERY good. We did not have a single dissapointing meal. Only constructive feedback is the omelet bar in the morning is very slow. Just one chef and she is NOT in a hurry. often took 10 - 15 minutes to get an omelet with only 2 or 3 people in line. Property is also missing a swim up bar, but there was never a problem getting a drink in the pool as the pool staff is very attentive and ready to take your order. I would stay here again, definitely.

This place was unbelievable dirty. We end up with paying more for upgrade and they said the only available place they have is penthouse. OMG bigger disaster was there dirty, dusty and smelly

Everything was absolutely wonderful for our first visit to PV and area, and stay at the Marival Distinct Luxury Resort. It felt as though everyone working there was happy to make and keep us happy while on vacation at this beautiful property. The hotel's concierge (named Caesar?) was a friendly gentleman with perfect english who would call to check in that everything was to our liking. Marival Distinct is so clean that it sparkles! The cleaning and maintenance team work diligently around the clock, without being noticed or getting in the way of the guests. Without a doubt, the food and service at Marival Distinct is of the highest quality, and a highlight of the holiday. With several restaurants and bars to choose from, the selection, quality and availability of food and beverage is second to none. Similar to the incredible food, the service would always come with a smile, a friendly conversation and check in to ensure everything was suited to our liking. I'd like to personally thank Fatima, Elena, Edwardo, Benancio and Kevin for always providing professional and friendly service in the restaurants. I'd also like to personally thank Julio, Ruben, "Super" Mario and Victor for their outstanding service on our days at the beach. First class service at this first class resort! The rooms were modern, large and very comfortable. Looking forward to our next vacation at Marival Distinct in Riviera Nayarit!

Super clean and exceptionally well maintained. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The food in all the restaurants was outstanding. By far the best Mexico experience we had. The only improvement that could be made is to make the jacuzzis available to kids because you can’t use the jacuzzi if you have to leave your kid unattended elsewhere.

Rooms are very nice. We stayed in two 1 bd/2 bath units. In both rooms mold was found in shower area. We were able to get another rooms, but it took time off from our stay Meal time takes to long, but meal choices are really good.

We felt good value for our money here. We spent most of our time at the infinite pool or beach. My son enjoyed the kids club a couple times as well. We ate at omaggie most of our stay for breakfast. It was buffet. Never tried lemongrass because the hours were in the middle of when we wakted to eat. For lunch we were mostly at the infinity pool, so we would order with our server Paco( Francisco) or get tacos from the taco station. The pool menu had a good selection and great food. We tried several different things from there. Dinner we ate twice at the sister resort and two or three times at insu, amd once at mazzomare. All of the food we had was excellent, except the mexican restaurant at Emotions. It lacked a good selection and wasnt that great in taste. We attempted a show at emotions one night for fiesta night, but we left after 20 minutes. Emotions pool is open way later than distincts. Kids area not that gre Our room was the most basic room of king with a balcony, but it was awesome. It had 2 full bathrooms, washer and dryer, kitchen, dining room table, living room, and seperate bedroom. Staff was all super friendly. They all worked hard to keep the grounds clean and well maintained. We did get approached by our conceirge lady about the membership several times, which annoyed my husband, but after reading reviews it wasnt really a surprise. I warned him. It was a prefect place to have a nice relaxing vacation, even with a five yesr old. We would stay here again.

Unbelievably clean grounds. Beautiful landscaping. Could always find a lounge chair at pool or beach. Very friendly staff that remembered us and made it feel like home. Walking along the beach, the other resorts nearby aren’t as well kept or luxurious. Wish they had 1-2 more restaurant options.

The food was not the greatest but the place and the staff were amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The room did smell a little musty when we first arrived but didn’t smell it after the first day.

Beautiful property! Rooms were gigantic and had 2 bathrooms and a washer/dryer in them. Compared to their sister resort, it was much more quiet and relaxing. Very short walk to the beach through well maintained landscaping. The drinks were amazing and made of fresh fruit. The bar staff were also amazing and friendly! They really made our experience exceptional and memorable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you have mobility issues as there are little steps all around the property. The restaurants were hit-or-miss with their service times and efficiency, though the food was generally great.

Our room was clean, spacious and we had a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunset. The food was very delicious. We especially loved the chef's dinner as well as the special event that we attended. Highly recommend Insu, the rooftop bar with excellent food and beautiful view. The staff were friendly, happy and some are top notch! The shows are at the sister resort, Emotions. Some were really good and some were just ok. My main complaint is on the maintenance piece. The filtered water machine ran out of water and we called front desk but this wasn't replaced until 12 hours later. The housekeeping didn't always replace the food and drinks. The water pressure in the room was not good. We could not even use the tub because it would have taken too long to fill it up.

We booked an “ocean view suite” the room we got faced the pool and had a little glimpse of the ocean above the palm trees”. Incredibly misleading Our room had multiple issues. The door handle to the bedroom was broken, my wife locked herself in the room and couldn’t get out. Toilet did not flush, sinks were clogged. We had to get maintenance perform work for 2 hours in our room. The front concierge lady may be the rudest staff person on the resort. She has glasses with strawberry blonde hair. Regardless of what you ask she responds in a condescending tone and constantly interrupts you. She first booked us a restaurant located on an entirely different resort. Surprised, we jumped in their shuttle and got dropped there. After walking through the 2nd resort to get to this restaurant we were denied entry because I did not have closed toed shoes. I was extremely annoyed, coming all this way with a toddler and my wife. Not once were we informed of the foot ware code by concierge at booking. Same lady booked us dolphins tour. She made a mistake on the dolphins as well by double booking us then speaking to my wife aggressively about getting the “2nd white slip back” which we never received. We booked massages at the spa for 85 minutes. Instead, My wife got a 70 minute massage and I received a 65 minute massage. this ended with an apology and a partial refund. Incredibly dishonest and misleading. Checkout day they made a mistake on charges. This is not a 5 star resort!!!

We came in 2019 and really liked the property. The quality is not there anymore. For the duration of 5 days didn’t get hot water in the shower even though brought this up every day. Every day at 4 am there was some construction going under our balcony. People, were digging, putting in cement, discussing it via radio, every morning at 4 am!!! Brought up to the front desk nothing was done. Food quality and selection for sure went down. We enjoyed the beach, water, amazing weather!!! Can’t recommend Puerto Vallarta enough especially during the winter months. We love it!

We felt good value for our money here. We spent most of our time at the infinite pool or beach. My son enjoyed the kids club a couple times as well. We ate at omaggie most of our stay for breakfast. It was buffet. Never tried lemongrass because the hours were in the middle of when we wakted to eat. For lunch we were mostly at the infinity pool, so we would order with our server Paco( Francisco) or get tacos from the taco station. The pool menu had a good selection and great food. We tried several different things from there. Dinner we ate twice at the sister resort and two or three times at insu, amd once at mazzomare. All of the food we had was excellent, except the mexican restaurant at Emotions. It lacked a good selection and wasnt that great in taste. We attempted a show at emotions one night for fiesta night, but we left after 20 minutes. Emotions pool is open way later than distincts. Kids area not that gre Our room was the most basic room of king with a balcony, but it was awesome. It had 2 full bathrooms, washer and dryer, kitchen, dining room table, living room, and seperate bedroom. Staff was all super friendly. They all worked hard to keep the grounds clean and well maintained. We did get approached by our conceirge lady about the membership several times, which annoyed my husband, but after reading reviews it wasnt really a surprise. I warned him. It was a prefect place to have a nice relaxing vacation, even with a five yesr old. We would stay here again.

We had a great stay. We had 3 kids with us including a 1 year old and loved the nanny service (Maria from the playzone is awesome), and the flexibility at the restaurants to serve fries, nuggets etc for the kids. The quality of the food was truly impressive and the rooms are spacious and gorgeous. There are some incredibly helpful staff like the concierge, Lamberto at the pool, and some housekeepers. We also loved the rooftop infinity pool in our unit. We did not like the strict restrictions on taking food to your room, and the wifi quality and policy was disappointing (2 device limit). For how expensive this place is, they nickle and dime you still and that’s annoying. With that said, we had a fantastic vacation and will likely return.

Marival Distinct was wonderful. My family of four (2 kids, 2 parents) usually go on summer vacation and we have been to a lot of resorts in Mexico. Marival Distinct didnt disappoint! The room was beautiful. Laid out like a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo so it was perfect for our family. The food was good especially at Lemongrass and Mozzamare. Omaggio missed the mark on a few plates. The view at Insu is amazing. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our vacation and have zero complaints. Well, except the persistent timeshare invitation. If you are not interested in a timeshare, make sure you say no to the breakfast, jetski and anything else they offer you during check in. Happy travels!!!

Very different from your usual all inclusive resorts. Do your research. Lots of strict rules. No taking food to go. No buffet. Sit down restaurants only. Annoying sales pitch at check in. Questions like "What do you do for a living"? No getting room key till you get through the pitch. No bottled water anywhere. Have to pay extra for bottled water... Room service is 10% charge. Tough with little kids with no buffet. Asked for ice cream to go at the restaurant by the pool, not allowed. Have to sit down to eat. Ice cream only after 1 pm... No more towels by the beach and infinity pool. They give you some kind of thin blankets to lie on.

Our recent stay was overall very enjoyable, and we truly appreciated many aspects of the property. The food was consistently good, and we especially liked that the pools never felt overly crowded. The views—from both our room and the sky bar—were absolutely stunning and added a special touch to the experience. Service throughout the resort was attentive and prompt. A special mention goes to Francisco at the beach club, who was fantastic, and to our butler, Hector, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of every day. There are a few areas where enhancements could make the guest experience even better. For example, it would be nice to have a swim-up bar or a convenient spot to grab quick snacks by the pool. Additionally, for a room priced at over $900 per night, it seems reasonable to expect basic amenities like dish soap and laundry detergent to be provided without having to request them. For families traveling with young children, including essentials like milk with the upgraded snack service would also be a thoughtful touch. We did take advantage of the in-room babysitting service one evening. While we were initially a bit hesitant, Michelle was wonderful with our 20-month-old and quickly put us at ease. Overall, we had a lovely time and would certainly consider returning, especially with a few small improvements that would elevate the luxury experience to match the price point.

Great accommodations for a family. Service was not on par with other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. Mini bar was not restocked daily, had to ask multiple times for drinking water in our room, reservations at onsite restaurants are not an option and meant waiting up to an hour to be seated at dinner if you did not arrive before opening.

Great place to visit with awesome staff. Beach was a short walk on property with infinity pool and restaurants to add to the choices. The rooftop bar was fantastic and the staff was great, including Kevin. I’d say that the bartenders were really dialed in making premium cocktails using high end liquor.

The property was extremely well maintained. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles in either direction. There is no seaweed problem in Puerto Vallarta! Food options at the hotel are delicious but for a stay longer than 5 days you will likely repeat meals. The Italian "pop-up" pizza and pasta was outstanding. Service was great poolside and at the restaurants.

The food and service at this resort are absolutely amazing. We didn’t eat a single thing we didn’t like. I read reviews about the beach being a long walk away and was concerned about that but it’s not a long walk at all. If you can’t make the short walk they do have a shuttle but I found it to be a very pretty pleasant 3 minute walk. Highly recommend this resort. The large spacious rooms are incredible as well.

Traveled with wife and 2 toddlers ages 5 & 3. We couldn’t have asked for better stay. Room was large with laundry in unit which a big plus. Even though the property in not “beachfront,” they do have a nice, clean beach area just a 3-5 minute walk which is closer than many beachfront properties. Loved their beach area with friendly staff and beautiful coral sand. Pools were kid friendly and heated. Restaurants were good for all-inclusive with plenty of variety.

Nov ‘24 there is construction of the main lobby; check in happens in little room to the side and gets terribly crowded. There are very few restaurants but the biggest inconvenience is that the hotel is NOT ON THE BEACH, it takes a long walk to get to the beach assigned to the property.

You can also eat at the neighboring Marival resort, which has the more standard buffet setup. The area is all resorts, and not much to see, but nearby Puerto Vallarta is fantastic (about a 40-min/$25 taxi).

Overall, we were very satisfied with this property! It will be at the top of our list to revisit in the future. We really liked that it was quiet, the pool size and cleanliness was perfect, the beach access (although a little walk) was amazing, generally the staff was very attentive and super friendly, our room was amazing - spacious, good views, and clean, the spa was top notch - great massage, the restaurants were pretty good, and it was nice that you were able to utilize the sister property (Emotions) and its amenities as well - with regular shuttle service between the two. We actually found the restaurants far superior at the Emotions resort, so outside of breakfast we shifted had most of our meals at the other resort. As an aside, although I unfortunately don't recall his name, the concierge was fantastic, personable, and great service! The only negative was the poolside service staff. They were not attentive. Many times, I observed them talking to each other or playing on their phones instead of serving guests. During the entire stay I never got a second drink before my current drink was done - alcoholic beverage or not - instead, I'd finish a drink and still wait 15, 20, 30 minutes before service came by again. On multiple occasions, I had to get up and walk to the bar on my own for a refill, which is not what I expect. Of all the resorts I've stayed in PV, this was by far the worst pool service I've experienced. (And it was NOT busy at the resort.)

Very different from your usual all inclusive resorts. Do your research. Lots of strict rules. No taking food to go. No buffet. Sit down restaurants only. Annoying sales pitch at check in. Questions like "What do you do for a living"? No getting room key till you get through the pitch. No bottled water anywhere. Have to pay extra for bottled water... Room service is 10% charge. Tough with little kids with no buffet. Asked for ice cream to go at the restaurant by the pool, not allowed. Have to sit down to eat. Ice cream only after 1 pm... No more towels by the beach and infinity pool. They give you some kind of thin blankets to lie on.

We felt good value for our money here. We spent most of our time at the infinite pool or beach. My son enjoyed the kids club a couple times as well. We ate at omaggie most of our stay for breakfast. It was buffet. Never tried lemongrass because the hours were in the middle of when we wakted to eat. For lunch we were mostly at the infinity pool, so we would order with our server Paco( Francisco) or get tacos from the taco station. The pool menu had a good selection and great food. We tried several different things from there. Dinner we ate twice at the sister resort and two or three times at insu, amd once at mazzomare. All of the food we had was excellent, except the mexican restaurant at Emotions. It lacked a good selection and wasnt that great in taste. We attempted a show at emotions one night for fiesta night, but we left after 20 minutes. Emotions pool is open way later than distincts. Kids area not that gre Our room was the most basic room of king with a balcony, but it was awesome. It had 2 full bathrooms, washer and dryer, kitchen, dining room table, living room, and seperate bedroom. Staff was all super friendly. They all worked hard to keep the grounds clean and well maintained. We did get approached by our conceirge lady about the membership several times, which annoyed my husband, but after reading reviews it wasnt really a surprise. I warned him. It was a prefect place to have a nice relaxing vacation, even with a five yesr old. We would stay here again.

Unbelievably clean grounds. Beautiful landscaping. Could always find a lounge chair at pool or beach. Very friendly staff that remembered us and made it feel like home. Walking along the beach, the other resorts nearby aren’t as well kept or luxurious. Wish they had 1-2 more restaurant options.

This is a very nice resort. Heated pool (not all pools are as warm as this property from our experience traveling in mexico). The suites/rooms are terrific. Spacious and comfortable. The new years party and buffet was an A+. Staff is friendly, fast and professional. The food is VERY good. We did not have a single dissapointing meal. Only constructive feedback is the omelet bar in the morning is very slow. Just one chef and she is NOT in a hurry. often took 10 - 15 minutes to get an omelet with only 2 or 3 people in line. Property is also missing a swim up bar, but there was never a problem getting a drink in the pool as the pool staff is very attentive and ready to take your order. I would stay here again, definitely.

Marival Distinct was a first class property in terms of the location and rooms and grounds. The staff was kind and capable. On the side of "needs work" I didn't enjoy the food as much as I would have imagined I would, and didn't care for the odd presence of artificial sweetener in all the drinks. I also would have liked a bit of a beer selection. Just Modelo and Corona were offered. I enjoyed my stay largely but may be the type of guest that needs to get out a bit more over a week in Mexico as well.

We liked the hotel and amenities, it was quiet and relaxing. Room size was great, food was good. Couple of items to note: there are private residences between the hotel and the beach so if you are looking for something right on the beach this is not for you. There is a beach club with an pool around 3 -4 min walk which was good enough for us. Rooms don’t have soaps(hand, dish or laundry detergent), and each pods of laundry detergent is 3$ in the store downstairs so I would highly recommend bringing detergent sheets with you. The sister property with kids pool is around 15 min walk away or 4min ride on a golf cart, it’s great for kids to play in, but we avoided having any food there, the food was just not as good.

The pool guy Daniel made the stay worth it. Mr.Castro was a great help and was great to meet him. The food was great. Mini split in the upper rooms were horrible? There is no beach view. Do not be mistaken by and pics. Great resort if you stay in a swim up. No beach All inclusive in fridge was like pulling teeth. Upper rooms rough AC Resort good not great. Employees tried and did great. Hope this helps
