We stayed for a week. Really enjoyed the stay. Nice facility, great location. Mostly friendly staff… except the least sociable/friendly bartender I’ve ever experienced… read her book behind the bar and acted annoyed every day. ALSO NOTE! This hotel claims to have Kitchenettes. THEY DO NOT! It is a regular mini bar, stocked only with coffee / tea, a mini fridge and microwave.

Everything about our stay was amazing. Loved the Hot tub and pool. Plenty of parking and near little boutiques and eateries. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

The only reason I booked at this hotel was for the pool and the hot tub. The pool, hot tub, and fitness room were “temporarily” closed. And of course, I was not able to cancel without still paying for the room. They should be required to post online when they know those amenities are going to be closed for more than 24 hours.

The staff of this hotel are very friendly and accommodating. The general manager, not so much! None of their washing machines are functioning properly. One is completely out of work the other and just doesn’t spin your clothes dry. On my first visit here three weeks ago, it wasn’t working either. The washers ( when are working) functions with quarters and the dryers usie an app that you have to download. Unfortunately, for me and for them, the minimum deposit to use the app/machine is $25. No thanks. Anyway, when I approached the manager about the situation,i t was clear to me that he couldn’t care less. It was so apparent, in fact that when I met him in the elevator and asked him why a big hotel like that would only have two washers and two dryers for 100 rooms? He’s literally turned his back on me in the elevator facing the corner like the spoiled patulous child that he apparently still is. He put such a bitter taste in my mouth, that, unless in an emergency, I will no longer use The Marriott brand again.

Clean, new facility, close to hwy, but quiet, right next to shopping and multiple restaurants, room was beautiful, right in between UNC and Duke, loved the breakfast, hot tub, little indoor pool, 24 hr fitness. Great amenities for the price.

Checked in on a Friday night and was given room 325, when my son (celebrating his birthday) and I got to the room the door was was open and none of the lights worked. We went downstairs and a very unapologetic desk clerk (male) put us in room 405. We found the heat didn't work very well and had to turn it up to 75 just to keep the room from being too cool. We left for a days worth of activities on Saturday and came back to a room that had not been attended in the least -- beds unmade, no new towels, garbage cans still full. Then, when I wold the receptionist about this on Sunday she said the manager would call be back shortly and he NEVER DID. Just a very bad experience and slipshod management and service. I expected much better!

The hotel was very nice aesthetically. The amenities were nice and the area was great. However, when entering the hotel there was a musty smell. When we got into our room the smell was worse, mainly inside the closet. We’re also unable to use the shower due to the temp being cold. The shower didn’t even get lukewarm. We called and were given the option to move rooms first thing the next morning. The next morning we received a call and moved. The second room was much better but the smell was still there. I’m assuming the hotel itself just has a bad smell. Aside from that our stay was good. I’d book again if I had to. The service was great!

The carpet outside our room needed to be vacuumed but was dirty for the 2 nights of our stay. The room had a musty smell, and smelled strongly of mold when the ventilation system was running. We will not be back.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was a good size. Separate shower and toilet arrangement was a little weird. Decor/furniture was a bit dated and there were maintenance issues: sink drains were both slow/backed up easily, shower pressure was mediocre and took a long time to heat up, one of the bathroom light fixtures had fallen out of the ceiling and was hanging by its wires.

Room layout a bit odd with the small toilet room directly in front of one beds, with tv view that is the bed you need to be in if watching at night. However, nice that toilet is separate from shower/bath Shower had slow drain, and oddly off/on hot water just on one morning. (Weekend stay was 2 nights)

Convenient to UNC, a paper shredding truck parked outside our window all morning for a business across the street shredding papers was one downside. This was somewhat noisy. Our room was located on the second floor, above the courtyard.

The set up of the bathrooms in the hotel is very nice. Almost all the amenities were functional and usable, except the outdoor fire pit, which I understand cannot be operated in rainy weather. Mattresses are super uncomfortable and caused my spouse and I great pain. We tried to use a gaming console for a streaming service and was having a very difficult time trying to adjust the volume of it no matter which remote was used to do so. Front desk seemed rather apathetic about our concerns. Then when we were sleeping at 8:45AM today, housekeeping tried to break down our door when we had the do not disturb sign hanging on the handle right outside it. Had it not been deadbolt locked, I’m sure they would’ve barged in on us while one of us sleeps completely naked! These are the only big issues we had throughout this trip. Word of advice: please do not send housekeeping to our door TWO TO THREE HOURS before checkout!

Front desk staff was very courteous & hospitable. She did an incredible job of answering questions & caring about our visit to and stay in Durham. The cleaning staff was thorough and friendly. As we were walking by rooms the housekeeping staff were cleaning, we saw one vacuuming the floor and another lifting the sofa pillows, vacuuming and cleaning underneath. I was happy to know they take the time to thoroughly clean & not just say or pretend they do. I slept on one of their sofa beds just the night before, so it was a greater feeling of assurance having seen them clean.

Springhill Suites was very clean and staff was courteous. This location is within walking distance to DPAC where we attended a concert. Unfortunately most of the breakfast food was gone when we wanted to eat at @ 9:30 am.

Please tell the Hispanic gentleman who assists with breakfast, it’s not sanitary to push the trash down and then go stir one of the entrees with same hand. Now the serving utilize is contaminated. It’s striking he wasn’t trained in the sanitary upkeep of a buffet station.

This hotel was so clean. The staff was really friendly and the breakfast was great. Bonus points for there being turkey sausage. This location is only 10 minutes away from Chapel Hill which had a great bar scene since it’s so close to campus. Will come back in the future
